  1. How about a Saturn Outlook? What is your timeline? BTW, the only 3 members to have responded to you so far are gay. edit: the rest are still in shock.
  2. StaceFace was just here a few days ago.
  3. fixed. buick came up with a very interesting idea with the Bengal... something I think they should consider doing for all their future FWD platforms. They turned the engine and transmission 180 degrees so that the transmission was now in front of the engine. This allowed the wheels to be pushed further forward.
  4. Agreed......Well, the G and W bodies. Buick will never, and should never look at the IS, G35, 3, and C as it's competition in the 30k class. and that's fine.... the CTS and STS are there to lure your 40k away from you....if that is the class you are shopping in Buick wouldn't be on your list anyway. What happens when gas prices continue to climb <and they will continue to climb>? Those SUV owners who don't tow anything more than a double mocha latte will get their step ladders out and climb down out of their 'Burbons, and their Armadas and get themselves into a sedan or crossover. More than likely, if they get a sedan, it will *not* be a 3-series or CTS. The size change would be too great.
  5. Everyone goes nuts over the 300c because of it's styling and the not-really-a-Hemi. It'd sell even if it was FWD. People have gone nuts over the Mini-Cooper, New Beatle, Mazda 6, Nissan Altima and I'm sure a few others. If RWD were such a big deal to people, why don't the Lincoln LS, Pontiac GTO, and Mercury Maurader fly off the shelves? Face it, it's the styling that sells. There are great selling, great looking FWD cars. There are poor selling, dull looking, RWD cars. For every 300 that is sold, there is a Panther and a GTO sitting on a lot somewhere.
  6. lies! GM fleets everything.... even the new Escalades are rentals.
  7. What you are explaining is that GM's platforms are old, NOT that a FWD Lucerne can't sell. Two completely different issues. Would you similarly charge Acura for "falling behind" when it still offers predominantly FWD <and one, poor selling, AWD> cars? What about Lexus for continuing to offer it's ES? A properly engineered, modern platform, full sized, luxury car can sell... and C&D will harp on it all year for not out handling the 3-series.... but that's ok, because it's not supposed to.
  8. they'll sell every one as long as it has that T shaped sombraro on the hood.
  9. You put Chery above even the Verona? The Verona isn't a bad car, it doesn't deserve to be at the very bottom. It's worst offence is being underpowered for a 6 cylinder, but being an inline 6, it is quiet smooth and refined.
  10. The old camry and current solara share about as much between them as the current Impala and current Monte Carlo. You can bet the press would have a field day if Chevy tried to count Impala and monte carlo sales together.
  11. Fly, I get that error during standard business hours, multiple times a day.
  12. I'm offended! *huff*
  13. So now you're changing the criteria. First it was the "growl" now it's the fact thta it doesn't have a RWD chassis....EVEN THOUGH the ES doesn't have one either..... Buick and Oldsmobile pretty much built the FWD luxury car market in this country. What could be more American then that?
  14. Lincoln Continental Valentino edition: Buick Regal by Joseph Abboud: Lincoln Continental Bill Blass And then of course, the Eddie Bauer line up over at Ford.
  15. thanks 68, I don't think I've seen a 1980 cutlass nose before. I guess I just assumed they jumped from the 79 style to the 81 style directly.
  16. semantics but.... The company that introduced the automatic transmission was GM. Oldsmobile was just the division that did the work. Oldsmobile hasn't been a seperate company since, what... 1908?
  17. I'll take a E85 burning, AFM, hybrid please...
  18. the shark picks up the scent..... What is wrong with the orientation of the engine? while I doubt there are any rear drivers out there that are transversely mounted.... there are front drivers out there that are longitudinatlly mounted. The 300c's predecessor the 300m was longitudinally mounted FWD. Others include: Any GM full size front drivers prior to 1985. VW Passat of the 2001 generation <don't know about the others> All of the Chrysler LH cars. But really 68.... we all know... we all, painfully, know your opinion on FWD cars, hard tops, transversly mounted engines, and Toyota. Must you make a rant in EVERY thread that happens to mention one of those subjects?
  19. see that big blank space in the center of the engine bay? you know, the part with no colors to indicate represent an area that's has quiet tuning? yeah, that's where the engine goes. There is no difference in the engine of a LaCross and the engine in the GrandPrix. Buick added a padded cover over the engine. That's all. Quiet tuning is padding, insulation and a different resonator. That's all.
  20. whatever you do, DON'T buy any of those "make millions in real estate" courses.
  21. 3 cars? Impala SS = 303 Monte Carlo SS = 303 Grand Prix GXP = 303
  22. so do the workers on the Breyers Vanilla Ice cream production line....
  23. Lets list the current high powered front drivers: ES = 278 TL Type S = 286 DTS = 275 Caliber SRT-4 = 300 what'd I miss?
  24. post 1976 means.... after 1976.... which is where we are now.. :AH-HA_wink:
  25. It's 100 time easier than one might think. If you want to PM me sometime, we can chat and I'll give you some pointers on how to get started.
