  1. next?.... he's already been outed
  2. but still, GM is making 400hp out of an "old tech" 5.7 litre while Merc is making 382hp out of a DOHC 5.5 litre. I'm going to venture a reliable guess that the 5.5 is physically larger and also likely weighs more. Pushrods r teh suxors! but seriously, a 5.0 N* would probably run in the 380+ range no prob.
  3. sorry, I forgot they increased displacement for 2006. 2005 CTS-V had a 400hp 5.7 litre pushrod.
  4. it means you can add one more bag of sand to the interior through the sunroof.
  5. the technology that the 4.4 has over the 4.6 is called a supercharger.
  6. 5.5 liters to make 382 HP in DOHC format? GM does 400hp with a 5.7 litre pushrod. Make a 5.5 litre Northstar and I'll guarentee it'll to better than the Merc.
  7. today... yes in 1998, not so much
  8. suprise to no one..... I liked this part... N Sync is still around?
  9. the reason the combustion chamber is not counted is because that volume never changes signifigantly while the engine is running. You don't get a change in the amount of air intake if you increase or decrease the size of the combustion chamber.
  10. you've had it a month... and it's already a POS? geez, just buy a GM already.
  11. NG DTS/STS on Sigma II at Hamtramck and CTS/CTC/SRX at Lansing maybe?
  12. all the Fox body Fords are like that. had to do the same thing in my '85 Continental.
  13. is there more planned for Sigma II? I didn't think Lansing was at capacity yet.
  14. Well he already lost some money from a sale earlier this year... so it's got to go higher before he'll make profit from it.
  15. good results because the loss was a result of a one time charge. If nothing else changes 3rd Qrt will be net profit. Remember that the stock market is all speculation based. Wall Street is happy because it looks like GM will be making money in the future.
  16. back away from the crack pipe
  17. HHR, PT Cruiser and Mazda 5 are crossovers? I thought they were just high roof wagons. They don't even have AWD available. If I didn't need AWD, I'd probably go for an HHR otherwise you'd find me in a Forester. The key for me is "utility".
  18. you have a checking account? you can buy stock. www.sharebuilder.com it's who I use and it's a great savings tool even if all you do is use their moneymarket feature to put away a few bucks each month.
  19. I buy the same dollar amount of GM stock every month <dollar cost averaging> and have been ever since Kirk started making his bids. BTW, +.39 as of 11:40am. broke the 30 dollar mark today
  20. Great ads! I'd love to see them.
  21. it's the previous generation that had an eyelift. It doesn't work for 48 year old women and it doesn't work for cars.
  22. There are 2.5 domestic automakers and at least 7 foreign automakers. What makes anyone think that the 2.5 domestics combined *should* command 50% of the market? I mean... it's not like we have protectionist tarrifs or money policy or state funded healthcare or anything.
