GM May Sell Allison Transmission
As long as GM continues to source their higher end truck transmissions from Allison, I don't see it as a bad thing. These transmissions are selling points in the HDs.

Letter to GM from Edmonds.com president
While I can believe Honda was surprised by the Outlook and now concerned about the upcoming Pilot, I doubt that this situation actually happened.

Compair it to the 5-series. Their weight, size, and power are nearly identical. Just because Cadillacs base sedan is bigger than the 3-series doesn't mean it should be expected to perform like the 3-series. It's not like Cadillac gets a pass on the laws of physics.

Saab Story
step 1: more 4-cylinder turbos all around. start pumping out 300hp turbo 4-cylinders like Subaru does. No car should be sold by saab that doesn't have a turbo. Turbo and Saab go together like AWD and Subaru or Quattro and Audi or Toyota and Fly's car. step 2: drop the 2.8 turbo and use a 3.6 DI turbo instead. they take up the same physical space... only on a RS/M/V-series level car though. AWD must <out of necessity> be standard. step 3: more Combis and hatches. This is what made a Saab a Saab. just cause it took 3 years for the epsilon 9-3 combi to come out means that there were 3 years of no wagons available in the 9-3 series Step 4: A small A3 sized hatch Step 5: A proper replacement for the 9-7x. You've already proven there is a market for it. Now go make something that will beat the snot out of a FX45. Don't forget to turbo charge it. Dropping a turboed Atlas I5 or I6 in here would just reek of quirkiness. Step 6: All the other guys are doing it... so a premium small crossover for you too. Just try to make it not suck gas like the RDX. Theta is usable if you mod it enough. It already has the center mounted window switches. AWD and turboed I5 would round out the package nicely.

Hillary Clinton
In the Bush v. Kerry election.... remember out there were a bunch of Republicans who boycotted Heinz ketchup.... even though the company Heinz gave large sums of money to the republicans AND Teresa Heinz Kerry has no actual involvement with the company? Petty eh?

No.... That guy is an idiot. The car was in limp home mode. If it dies after that, press the little blue Onstar button and have Cadillac come pick it up and give you a loaner... or heck, get an Onstar advisor to do a remote engine diagnostic to see if the car should even be driven at all. One time, my CTS was running poorly and the check engine light came on. I pressed the blue button, Onstar did a diagnostic, he say there was a low fuel pressure code being thrown. Told me to go check to make sure my gas cap was on all the way. I went and checked and sure enough, I hadn't put the cap on fully. If you were driving a new M3 around and it was acting like that CTS was....would you keep driving it? Hell no! You'd call BMW roadside assistance. You wouldn't keep beating on the car and recording it for BMW to use against you in court.- Hillary Clinton
He seems to be following a path similar to JFK...... 'cept for the "richer than Roosevelt" part. Young, dynamic, well liked, not much experience, "new face", outsider, optimistic.....- Guess what hit me now?
No more Aurora parts for you!- 2008 Cadillac CTS: Image Gallery
but isn't it a curve? How does BMW getting a pass for major mechanical and electrical failures and still taking first place not indicate a curve?- Hillary Clinton
My biggest objection to her running: Do we really want 24+ years of the same two families in the Whitehouse?- Hillary Clinton
or Eisenhower v. Stevenson in '52- Jeep Commander is done
Jeep Commander going down by 2009 Link to AutoBlog Since Edmunds.com is claiming that potential buyers of the Commander were being offered up to $8,000 in incentives towards the end of 2006, the German-American hybrid may have seen the writing on the wall.- 2008 Cadillac CTS: Image Gallery
And "The CTS is a great car.... but it's not a BMW" isn't also a curve? Happens often in reviews.- 2008 Cadillac CTS: Image Gallery
Notes from the C&D Review: Which means you optioned it out wrong. Got my CTS with a sticker of 38k <paid a lot less> with all of that except the telescoping column. So change them. The beauty of the steering wheel controls on the CTS is that they're programmable. I have 1 and 3 set to seek up and down, 2 and 4 change the temperature up and down. I could just as easily set #4 to be Traction control disable..... it only takes a short read of the user manual to figure out. The BMW review page, they have 2.5 paragraphs out of 5... a full 50% of the space....spent talking about the malfunctions of the car. They weren't even thrilled with the interior, it seemed merely acceptable in their eyes, a/c wasn't strong enough, radio is hard to see, yet it still wins number 1.- 2008 Cadillac CTS: Image Gallery
They also used a CTS without NAV that was substantially cheaper <more than the cost of NAV> than the "winners". The whole article is flawed and stacked against non-BMWs.- 2008 Cadillac CTS: Image Gallery
Oh yeah, smart move citing an article where the 3-series broke down multiple times during the test! I'll take my .5 slower 0-60 time cause it's still faster than the a BMW up on a lift. 99.9% of all the owners of BOTH cars will never be in a situation where the difference in performance matters..- Toyota Slogan mocking thread
Toyota - moving forward (and sometimes to left or the right) Toyota - Lurching forward Toyota - moving forward....into Fly's car.- Can the New-Look Malibu Help Jump-Start Chevy?
uh.... no- Toyota Slogan mocking thread
I've seen so many of these, I think it deserves it's own thread. I'll start off with the one I coined. Toyota - Moving Forward.....in 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th.- Market Watch! GM's Incentives Drop - Japan's Shoot Up
Toyota already has great percived quality. GM is trying to regain that perception. GM got to be number one with breath taking design and amazing performance, a position they are trying to regain. Toyota is going to be number one by throwing in a free ice-maker with each refrigerator they sell. - 2008 Cadillac CTS: Image Gallery
