  1. [speculation]One issue I understood was capacity in Oz. If Holden starts selling the heck out of these new ZE based cars, there may not be enough capacity left for the NA market. Additionally, with the Impala and Lucerne most likely ending up on the Zeta platform, building a Pontiac sedan on the same platform in the same facility would make sense. [/speculation]
  2. Will it eventually move to Oshawa once W-Body production stops and Zeta production is ramped up? I think people are thinking that an MCE will be timed with such a move, hence the "stop gap" speculation.
  3. You left them in a stall in the bathroom of the truck stop off I80.
  4. Good list..... Though the Tundra is only on there because you don't have to wait for a Silverado/Sierra anymore.
  5. The GM Digital dash was blasted to the point of heckling. I don't know about the other divisions, but the Oldsmobile models that had them were functional and attractive. I actually miss having the digital dash from my '85 Toronado.
  6. I think the people that annoyed me most were the ones that would complain <loudly> about how the GTO was not "authentic" because it was >from Australia/not bad ass enough/too expensive/etc.< while a beige Camry sits in their driveway.
  7. I've always admired the idiots <mad scientists?> who would drop turbocharged 3.4 DOHC engines in Fieros.
  8. Actually, apparently the 4.3 did ok as far as reliability was concerned it was the 5.7 that had most of the reliability issues. 0-60 was measured by scientists with carbon dating equipment. Speaking of carbon, you'd usually get a layer a couple inches thick on the whole rear of the car. Mpg was in the mid 40s.
  9. Limited Slip Differential
  10. Isn't that embargoed?
  11. Incorrect. There is no one fuel* that is the correct answer. The correct answer is "diversification" *That hydrogen is even a fuel and not just an energy storage medium is another debate
  12. The HHR one was the only decent one of the bunch....
  13. I could see people who want near the performance of an M5 but not the price tag or repair bills being supremely attracted to this. Given all the nice write ups the last Commodore had even when compared to the previous M5, it's not an impossibility.
  14. and if my grandmother had wheels, she'd be a wagon.
  15. *scoff* Just another example of Buick using "ancient" technology.
  16. The interior is way above Pontiac's expected class.
  17. I just don't understand what all the speculation is about. You can see clearly that it's Commodore based. It's a Commodore with a Pontiac grill. Not that it's a bad thing, I may even go for a G8 over a CTS in '08.
  18. Ya gotta Sonata.....
  19. How many SUV drivers take their vehicles off road? It's not that they do, it's that they could..... edit: Everyone likes the idea of a car that runs 500k miles. It sells cars. Few ever keep theirs that long though.
  20. fixed I don't think either brand is safe.
  21. I'll say it again. Expect a Holden Commodore with the Pontiac front end you see there. Go to Holden's website if you want to see what this thing will look like.
  22. but that doesn't excuse the car rags from blasting on the domestic's digital dashes while giving a pass to Honda and Nissan <which did them before too>.
  23. but not the SRX?
  24. I think it's the "look and feel" they're going after. Ya know, not selling cars out of a mobile office trailer like Mitsubishi is doing these days.....
  25. Most Jag/Land Rover dealers seem to be paired up with other premium makes. Around here we have a Jag/LR/BMW and a Jag/Lex/Volvo Mazda usually seem to be paired with someone else also.... oddly, around here, it's generally VW.
