the only way I see that happening is if the Impala goes "Classic". Malibu is moving much closer to Impala size range.

The CTS has a base MSRP of 29k and can be had for about 27k real world. Where do you think a Zeta Chevy/Buick/Pontiac is going to start? Edit: Keep in mind that a Catera MSRPed for 29k in 1997, so considering inflation, the price has come down.

Keep in mind people that the new Malibu is coming and it's growing in size. I would expect the new Malibu to take over the Impala's sales Altima style. Impala could be trimmed back to Impala Classic and sold to Avis for a year or two before the Zeta comes. With the new, larger than before Malibu on the lot, why would you want a W-body with lesser hardware?

BTW, I have "Brake Assist" in the CTS and it scares the &#036;h&#33; out of me every it's ever kicked in. it's very effective though.

What I can't understand is why they can't make the real wood more convincing. I've been asked more than once if the steering wheel and shifter wood in the CTS is real... because it looks fake to the questioner.
