If you're even a slight Haxor I recommend looking at MythTV and building your own. One of the best Mythboxes I've seen is LinuxMCE.

Two new powerful V8s on GM's NG C3XX pickups
I'd love to... looks like the page has been taken down already.

Some facts requested by the many knowledgeable members
* Did you know in 2006 Toyota recalled more cars than it sold? * Did you know that the new Tundra’s 5.7L V8 has had fracturing camshaft issue that result in catastrophic engine failure? * Did you know the Tundra is the only pickup not to get a 5-star crash test rating? * Or how about Honda’ recall of 2007 Civics because their wheel could potentially fall off? * Perhaps Nissan’s recall of it’s 2.5L Altima due to engine fires? * Did you know the Toyota FJ Cruiser is suffering from fractures in the unibody? * Did you know Buick tied with Lexus for JD Power and Associates best overall quality? * Did you know that the 4-cylinder engine in the Toyota Corolla, Camry, and Rav4 has a common and notorious sludge problem that Toyota initially refused to acknowledge and blamed the problem on poor maintenance by the owners? * Did you know that Honda has a secret warranty extension on the transmissions in the Acura TL, Honda Odyssey, and Honda Accord to cover frequent problems up to and including catastrophic failure?

I would throw in the number of recalled vehicles for effect. It's one thing to say that the civic was recalled for the potential of the wheels to fall off. It's completely another to day 900,000 Civics <made up number> have been recalled.

And the 275hp and 293hp Northstars in the DTS which are substantially different from the 320hp Northstar. Except that Honda already does it with some of their OHC engines. uh, no. SIDI is NOT like a diesel. Diesel is compression ignition... Spark ignition, by definition is not Compression ignition. HCCI is like a diesel, there is no spark plug but it runs on gasoline.... but yes GM is working on that also. SIDI is already available on the 2008 CTS and some of GM's Ecotechs.

First shots of the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V
BTW, weight advantage of the '08 335i auto v. 08 CTS - Di Auto is 200lbs in the 3-series favor. The 535i is only 100lbs lighter than the '08 CTS-V, however the M5 is 300lbs heavier than it's 535i cousin. The '07 CTS-V is 300lbs heavier than the '07 CTS 3.6. I wonder how much the BMW V10 will weigh. The LS engine is very light for it's size. You really think BMW is going to get more than 500hp out of the M3? Cadillac is likely to be in the 525hp range. There is no "massive" weight advantage for BMW so stop pulling fake information out of your ass.

First shots of the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V
I own both a DOHC V6 and a pushrod V8. Both seems equally smooth. The 5.3 in the Avalanche is actually substantially quieter and smoother than the 3.6 in the CTS at idle. Besides, the CTS-V going to be a large displacement torque monster with a supercharger, what could be more American than that? The current CTS-V was already so close to BMW in terms of performance that differences were usually relegated to driver error.

First shots of the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V
Considering some of the reviews we've read I don't think we can trust car reviewers with anything more dangerous than a rubber eraser.

Have we just gotten used to it?
I still get the Internal server errors all the time. Anyone else? Are we all just so used to it now that we don't complain anymore?

Kappa cars to move to Bowling Green ~2011
They have something more planned for Kappa. That move is about capacity. And PCS keeps hinting about the Volt, since Wilmington is a lower capacity plant.... maybe it goes there.

Don't change your oil every 3000 miles! Because CR & CNN SAYS SO!
What about GM? I bet your truck has an oil life monitor. I get 12,000 mile 6-8 month intervals with synthetic on the CTS.

-----> Julie's new Mercedes Benz
Not to hijack the thread, but can we all pitch in and buy 68 some BleachWhite for those tires on the B-59?

Will New Fuel Economy Standards Make Cars Less Safe?
What they don't consider is cost. Yes, GM could very well make all their cars out of Aluminum saving weight while providing strength, however, that would bump something like the Aveo up into the >25k range. Simple as pie.

Thanks for taking our quiz. You answered 96% of the questions correctly. I originally put down 27 amendments then changed it to 29 last minute. edit: other way around

Spied: '10 Buick LaCrosse
Most of the reviews seem to disagree with you. They do have torque steer, but it's not unmanageable. Pontiac GXP and I can't even find a DTS review that mentions torque steer.... even in the ones that mention the Cimmaron

GM US Production Schedule/Timetable through 2013
uh.... so which is it?

Spied: '10 Buick LaCrosse
Impala SS, Pontiac GXP, Buick Lacrosse Super, Buick Lucerne Super, Cadillac DTS. it's not like GM hasn't been doing it since about 1993 or anything.....
