Chevy Traverse to be priced ~$23,000
to expand on your idea.... I don't know the numbers but I'm sure that a Trailblazer/Envoy/Colorado/Canyon/H3 all on the same platform could easily crank out over 200k a year and not break a sweat.

Being "worse" than one of the best 6 cylinders on the market this side of BMW is a very relative thing. I do agree with you however. I think the Trailblazer does need a modern direct replacement. 4Runner/Highlander Pacifica/Durango Explorer/TaurusX/Flex/Edge Pathfinder/Murano All prove that Trailblazer/Traverse could still be very viable.

The Lambdas have a cargo and passenger capacity that rivals the Tahoe! The Highlander and SRX do not!!! The EXT sold poorly because it was a half assed job. The I6 was not up to the task of moving the vehicle and the cost of the V8 made it pointless to buy an EXT over a Tahoe. The Lambdas are substantially better product than the EXT and are already proving their worth. People don't want minivans. They buy them... but they don't want them. They want an SUV or CUV because they are far more stylish. The Lambdas offer 98% of the utility of a minivan with 150% of the styling of a Lexus RX or Toyota Highlander. As long as the Chevy version isn't styled like an Uplander, I'm sure it will do fine. What gray plastic trim are you referring to on the Enclave? If it's the dark lower portion of the vehicle, that area is painted. And you said plastic cladding.... This is plastic cladding:

First shots of the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V
The question isn't how many CTS-Vs did they sell, the question is how many CTS-Vs did they build? CTS-V has always been limited to a certain number built per year. A 5.6 liter V12? That works out to .46 liters per cylinder. Do you just make this $h! up randomly? Cadillac isn't building indy cars. Something that these large displacement V8s give is great low end torque. They already can't fit the 4.6 litre northstar in the CTS, yet you want to throw twin turbos on it?

There's no replacement for displacement. Who'd want to drive an Avalanche with a 2.2 litre turbo?

You're just a sucker for punishment aren't you? I already pwned you on the CTS v. various BMWs earlier..... hell, why not this too. The Lambdas seat seven.... which meant the appropriate comparison to a Trailblazer is the Trailblazer EXT. First, I doubt anyone could successfully argue that the Trailblazer is more user/family friendly than any of the Lambdas. The rear seats in the Lambda are usable by adults while the rear seats in the Trailblazer EXT are only good for people age 10 and under. Now about the weight issue. The Lambas weigh in at 4925 in AWD form. The Trailblazer EXT 4WD weighs in at 4954. There goes your weight arguement. On the engines... Horsepower on the Trailblazer EXT 6 cylinder is 291... yes, higher than the 275 on the Lambdas. However, the Lambda engine hits it's torque peak of 251 ft/lbs at 3200 rpm rather than 4800 rpm for the torque peak in the Atlas I6. Transmissions being the same, that means better around town scoot..... but the transmissions aren't the same. The Lambda has two more gears than the GMT360... which means better acceleration and better fuel economy. But wait, there's more. Read just about any review of the Trailblazer EXT with an I6 and the reviewer will call it a slug and either recommend opting for the V8 or just moving up to the Tahoe. Most reviews of the Lambdas tell readers that they can opt out of the Tahoe now and get a Lambda instead. Considering the GMT-900 Tahoe is one of the best full size SUVs on the market, that is pretty high praise. As for "plastic cladding" on the lambdas, I see none. I invite you to post a picture of a lambda, your choice, and circle in red the areas that have cladding. Now.... are you done or do I have to call Dr. House to find out where in your colon this drivel is coming from?

Watch the install and features video for LinuxMCE on GoogleVideo. He does a complete walk through of the installation and setup. The LinuxMCE version of MythTV is much much more than just a Tivo replacement.

Some facts requested by the many knowledgeable members
* Did you know in 2006 Toyota recalled more cars than it sold? * Did you know that the new Tundra’s 5.7L V8 has had fracturing camshaft issue that result in catastrophic engine failure? * Did you know the Tundra is the only pickup not to get a 5-star crash test rating? * Or how about Honda’ recall of 2007 Civics because their wheel could potentially fall off? * Perhaps Nissan’s recall of it’s 2.5L Altima due to engine fires? * Did you know the Toyota FJ Cruiser is suffering from fractures in the unibody? * Did you know Buick tied with Lexus for JD Power and Associates best overall quality? * Did you know that the 4-cylinder engine in the Toyota Corolla, Camry, and Rav4 has a common and notorious sludge problem that Toyota initially refused to acknowledge and blamed the problem on poor maintenance by the owners? * Did you know that Honda has a secret warranty extension on the transmissions in the Acura TL, Honda Odyssey, and Honda Accord to cover frequent problems up to and including catastrophic failure?

I would throw in the number of recalled vehicles for effect. It's one thing to say that the civic was recalled for the potential of the wheels to fall off. It's completely another to day 900,000 Civics <made up number> have been recalled.

And the 275hp and 293hp Northstars in the DTS which are substantially different from the 320hp Northstar. Except that Honda already does it with some of their OHC engines. uh, no. SIDI is NOT like a diesel. Diesel is compression ignition... Spark ignition, by definition is not Compression ignition. HCCI is like a diesel, there is no spark plug but it runs on gasoline.... but yes GM is working on that also. SIDI is already available on the 2008 CTS and some of GM's Ecotechs.

First shots of the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V
BTW, weight advantage of the '08 335i auto v. 08 CTS - Di Auto is 200lbs in the 3-series favor. The 535i is only 100lbs lighter than the '08 CTS-V, however the M5 is 300lbs heavier than it's 535i cousin. The '07 CTS-V is 300lbs heavier than the '07 CTS 3.6. I wonder how much the BMW V10 will weigh. The LS engine is very light for it's size. You really think BMW is going to get more than 500hp out of the M3? Cadillac is likely to be in the 525hp range. There is no "massive" weight advantage for BMW so stop pulling fake information out of your ass.

First shots of the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V
I own both a DOHC V6 and a pushrod V8. Both seems equally smooth. The 5.3 in the Avalanche is actually substantially quieter and smoother than the 3.6 in the CTS at idle. Besides, the CTS-V going to be a large displacement torque monster with a supercharger, what could be more American than that? The current CTS-V was already so close to BMW in terms of performance that differences were usually relegated to driver error.
