    The meat of the market isn't small crossovers? and the Malibu Maxx was very popular for what it was, GM left behind a good number of loyal fans by not continuing with that into the next generation.

    there are so many bad decisions on the table at GM right now, them padding their development timeline a bit is the least of our worries.

    It's optioned really weirdly though.... Has the sport steering wheel, fiber optics, exterior thermometer, "classic" grill, and sunroof but doesn't have digital dash, tape cassette, power passenger seat, or leather.

    Not trying to dis BMW..... if I could sell a Civic for 30k, I would too. I'm dissing only select BMW owners.... the ones who buy the car if it was a Yugo with a blue and white rondel, free maintenance, and "easy" lease payments of $299 a month with $4,000 down.

    Are you advocating the idea of GM closing everything but Cadillac and having the cheapest GM vehicle start at 30k?

    BMW is also a premium only manufacturer that can get away with charging 30k for a RWD, 6cylinder, Civic with leatherette.

    Since the subject of this thread is the Malibu LTZ, I suggest you trade your CTS for one of those if the cancel button is that big a deal. *strangely the first CTSes did have their cruise on the wheel, then it was later removed.

    BMW just pays the CAFE fine every year because it can afford to.

    From purely anecdotal evidence, it seems like the old-school chevy drivers are still buying the Impala <retail sales up recently>. It's the normally import drivers that are going for the Malibu.

    2-mode is simpler, engine agnostic, platform agnostic, fits in the space of a normal transmission, allows greater speeds in electric only mode <40 instead of 25>, and allows a 5,000lb SUV to get 22mpg highway..... and you don't see how it's better than toyota's?!

    right.... good idea to close your ears to the people who actually care about the company.... May all your feedback come from BMWTrend and Honda & Driver.....that way all you'll have to do is sell rebadged Accords and 3-series and not have to deal with all this pesky "original thought" stuff. I am fast learning to not care about GM anymore. If GM can't help itself with the technology it has on the shelf today, it doesn't deserve to go on.

    Pauli, I think you've been looking at the wood in your century too long. Go sit in a new Escalade, it has fake wood but you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference.
