  1. see if she can get a multi-pack of transmissions though....
  2. +1 on Alero or Saab
  3. so you admit they are just excuses and not actual valid reasons?
  4. Huh? The panthers are ancient and were about the same age as the B-bodies at the time. The Fleetwood was easily better than the Town Car..... and as far as longevity... not much beats a b-body.
  5. so we're not going to cheer when GM cans the DTS and produces a 7-series competitor?
  6. Truth. especially with that Turbo-4 BAS-II waiting in the wings. More torque at 1,000 rpm than the 3.6vvt and much better highway gas mileage and engine shut off at stop.... what's not to love?
  7. Still, what about the 278 in the Lambdas?
  8. I"m actually surprised there is no cheering of GM/Lutz for dropping the pushrod V6 option. Seriously guys... for people who harp on pushrods as much as you do... this slipped by you?
  9. They must have tuned the DI for efficiency rather than performance. 260hp is only 5 more than the non-DI 3.6 in the CTS. Yes the f-bodies were more stylish and performed much better than their Ford counterparts.... but the same could be said of the B-Bodies too and look where they ended up.
  10. additionally.... want more power = add more boost muuuuch easier to do with a turbo.
  11. OMG.... you all need to stop.... think.... then post. All of you clutching your pearls need to remember this graph. I think the Camaro will do just fine with the Turbo-4..... I would even go so far as to day GM should ditch the 3.6 and put the Turbo-4 BAS-II system in there. ...and that's coming from a 3.6 lover.
  12. Mom won't buy anything but FWD or AWD.... and she lived in South Florida. For me? One of each please.
  13. dead is a perfectly acceptable alternative.
  14. If GM had listened to blogs... it would be a very different GM right now.
  15. hmm... ls1... and a frankenwagon.... you thinkin what I'm thinkin?
  16. Now if they had built that...... that thing is fairly hot. though a bit small looking for an RL....it'd make a great TL.
  17. and the C8 Corvette is rumored to be mid-engined.....
  18. Look a the W-body sized wheel cutouts....
  19. Great sadness. The CTS is gone. It was truly my most dependable vehicle ever. I'm going to go cry now.
  20. most of your "thoughts" have already been debunked on this board.....
  21. I am not alone in my experience of poor interior durability in a VW, however my combination of issues may indeed be unique.
  22. The VW interiors look great and feel great...... until they start falling apart in your hands. Just a short list of Passat interior troubles my ex's 70,000 mile car had: Power/heated mirror control knob snapped off Cupholder "plood" broke off Cupholder catch would no longer hold, cupholder remained permanently open interfering with HVAC operation corners of passenger side airbag cover curling up Rear sunshade retainer clip broken passenger side seatbelt wouldn't retract Probably more electrical, but sometimes the automatic HVAC system wouldn't "boot up" when you started the car. So you'd have to turn the car off and try again. just sayin.....
