  1. When you think of cars from the 80s and 90s in terms of design or style, what ones pop into your head? Rarely Asian junk. GM, Ford, and occasionally Chrysler produced cars both distinctive and unique visually even if they aren't your style. Cars like the 70-85 E-bodies The last Riviera and first Aurora The Mark VIIs and Mark VIIIs The Reatta and Allante The Cutlass Supreme Convertible The Regal/GN/GNX Corvette of any year The imposing B-bodies The Euros had a few high priced cars that command attention like the 8-series, 6 series, just about any SL..... In the 80s and 90s you had a hard time telling a 626 from an Accord from a Camry from a Maxima without looking at the badge. What did ANY of the Asian manufacturers build that could compete with the visual presence of a Riviera? <not the stubby ones> Even the "lowly" Bonneville was more interesting to look at than an equivalent year Asian mid-size. The only two asian cars I can think of that would have a chance are the later Supras and the Nissan Z-cars.
  2. You mean like the Altima/Maxima or do you mean like the Camry/Avalon.... cause those have about the same level of difference between them as Century/Regal.
  3. I don't think anyone mistakes either generation of CTS for anything but a Cadillac. A vehicle can have a strong brand identity without looking basically the same as the previous generation.
  4. Two things: 1. They know who killed him. 2. The school initially tried to blame the killing on the victim by saying "He provoked it by dressing 'gay'"
  5. Well... yes, but what makes them different? Was Old's 307 a better runner than Chevy's?
  6. Well, out of those, I'd kill the Buick and the 9-4x..... but I like the looks of the 9-4x and a Mini-Enclave would probably look sweet.... so I'm not against styling choice.
  7. Oh I'm not saying the G8 shouldn't have one... I'm just saying that MPG can no longer be used as the justification for it.
  8. Link to Autoblog Summary: 1. Supra is teh shelved!!!@21!!! 2. FJ Cruiser is in it's final generation. 3. 4Runner gets refreshed for 2010. 4. NG Pruis to get 1.8 litre from Corolla, Liion battery issues delay plug in model. 5. Sienna and Venza will be equipped with hybrid drivetrains in 2012.
  9. uhm.... lately there have been automatics that have been getting better MPG than manuals in the same car..... just sayin....
  10. I can't unless at least two of the others die. Terrain and Torrent overlap with Nox too much. 1. Nox - CRV, RAV4, Escape, Patriot, Forrester fighter 2. Vue - Tiguen, Edge fighter 3. Buick - MKX, RDX or Smaller than RX fighter 4. 9-4x - XC70, LR2, RDX fighter, Infiniti EX fighter 5. SRX - X3, Infiniti EX
  11. How well did the G20 sell in the last 8 months before the G35 came out? How well did the Isuzu based Odyssey sell in the last 8 months before the Honda built one came out? How well did the Rainier/Terraza/Rendezvous sell in the last 8 months before the Enclave came out? How well did the Grand Prix sell in last 8 months before the G8 came out? your point is pointless
  12. i think I need something in that picture to set scale... it looks flipping huge!
  13. Safari + 4.3 litre diesel or 2.9 litre diesel = problem solved.
  14. Oil fell $3.35 out of the gate this morning opening at $111.67 RBOB Gasoline down 9 cpg to $2.8265 which translates to a pump price of approximately $3.42 per gallon depending on location. The dollar has risen against the Euro over the past week to 0.67 Euros to the Dollar after hovering in the .63 range for months, highest since late February 2008. Higher dollar values generally translate into lower price per barrel of oil. In related news, China has doubled the tax on vehicles with engines over 4 litres from 20% to 40%. And in news good for oil prices but bad news for GM, oil prices have sharply curbed auto sales growth in China.
  15. I've been reading the comments over at some of the other boards and they are almost universally positive, seems to be even more positive than the CTS sedan was. Cadillac has a hit on their hands.
  16. I see no reason why this <as a BRX> and an updated/upgraded SRX on Sigma couldn't co-exist.
  17. So basically Cadillac just released "His and Hers" cars. This one for the guys/enthusiasts and the SRX for the women/real estate agents.
  18. Very interesting considering Toyota doesn't even sell the Camry, much less the Camry Hybrid, in Great Britain.
  19. SSR I can believe, but the Aztec was one of the first of the big crossovers, predated only by the RX and the much smaller RAV4 and CRV. Complain about styling all you want, but "Large Crossover?" was a question everyone was asking....
  20. CTS Sport Wagon and Next Generation SRX Based on the hot-selling CTS sport sedan, and a sister vehicle to the CTS Coupe Concept, the Sport Wagon extends the design-driven renaissance of Cadillac. Following this special premiere at Pebble Beach, the CTS Sport Wagon moves to the worldwide auto show circuit this fall – and into Cadillac dealerships in spring 2009. More after the jump “The next-generation SRX, along with the new CTS Sport Wagon, showcases Cadillac taking its dramatic design into new directions, particularly cars and crossovers that are the right size at the right time for today’s luxury consumers,” said Jim Taylor, Cadillac general manager. 21. Wait a mullet! This thing has a hidden roof rack? Sweet!
  22. Well.... I like that they kept the fins...
  23. I soooo can't wait to tour the continent in one of these.
  24. doesn't the next 9-5 happen simultaneously with the LaX?
