Volt vs NG Prius
Prius still won't be using Lithium Ion batteries which is the major stumbling point for any EV vehicle, so the Pruis may get here first, but the Volt is still more noteworthy.

Spy Shot: Production interior of Chevy Volt Link to Autoblog General Motors continues to eek out teaser shots of the production Chevy Volt, but it appears that an image of the production interior has slipped through the Empire's net of control. All we have to go on for this image posted on the Motivemag.com forums is the image itself, which is part of a display panel at what appears to be a sneak preview of the vehicle for god knows who. What we see is a sleek, all-white center console with virtually no buttons. The controls appear to be touch sensitive instead, leaving the face of the console as smooth as a Frigidaire. Good luck installing an aftermarket stereo in this one. Completely flush air vents flank the console, which stands out in contrast to the black dash panel. On top of it all sits the information display, seen here showing the relationship between the "range extending" engine and lithium-ion batteries. What say you? We all know the production Volt isn't going to be as wild as the concept, but does this innovative center console meet your expectations? Also keep in mind that this might not be the real deal, but it seems to be from all appearances.

SRT-8 crushes the CTS in performance? Is SMK only counting straight line numbers now? Interesting how he manipulates his position to suit his end goal of slamming Cadillac.

Not going to turn this into a CIB v. OHC debate, but no, one is not "inherently superior" to the other...... as this CTS-V demonstrates. Chevy, Buick, Pontiac, Chrysler, Dodge use both pushrod and OHC.

AHEM: texas voters
I wasn't commenting on who was going to win... I was simply adding up the electoral votes if McCain can't get Texas due to a FUBAR like this.
-
AHEM: texas voters
I'm SURE it will be adjusted. If McCain doesn't/can't win Texas, the race is over now.

AHEM: texas voters
Uhm, up until today Obama was the presumptive nominee. McCain still is a presumptive.

Uplander replacement spotted... and has a name!
I know it may not make sense, but if this is the HHR replacement, they should keep the name HHR. It's developed a bit of a following with those who've purchased one.

2010 Chevrolet Tacuma Link to Jalopnik As reported, this family hauler should be based on the Delta platform, which also underpins the Chevy Volt and Chevy Cruze. What will this new GM minivan be like? Similar in proportions to the Mazda5, this minivan will not be a reinterpretation of previous generations of GM minivans. Notice those rear doors? They look like they're hinged at the front. Rather than long and short, these two testers seem to follow the European model of a tall van with short overhangs. With murmurs this vehicle could be built alongside the Volt, are we looking at the first major hybrid-electric minivan?

Lambdas get IIHS Top Pick rating
Lambdas get IIHS Top Pick rating Link to Autoblog The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety took some GMC Acadias and smashed them up to see how the big crossovers hold up against immovable objects, and unlike recent tests conducted for the Chevy Equinox and Pontiac Torrent, the news is positive. An AWD Acadia SLE acted as a stand-in for all of the Lambda models - Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, Saturn Outlook, and all Acadia trims included. It didn't matter whether the IIHS attacked the front, side, or rear – the CUV earned a "good" rating in all directions. With the standard fitment of Stabilitrak, the IIHS also bestowed a Top Safety Pick crown on GM's big haulers. The Lambas now have both a five-star rating from the NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick designator about which to brag.

Duh: Cadillac shelves that whole V12 thing
There's always been talk of the 3-valve VVT and DI being introduced to the line.

Duh: Cadillac shelves that whole V12 thing
For once I kinda agree with you. The LS is fine for the V-series, but for something STS/DTS/ULS level they need a modern, clean sheet, northstar replacement.

I have a new found respect for you sir..... not that I didn't respect you before... but... oh well, you know what I mean. A neighbor/friend had a 3-series <just moved to a new C-Class and gave his partner the 3er> and I really disliked the small interior. I was used to the interior space of my CTS.

Likely the only view that M5 drivers will have of the CTS-V Link to Autoblog It's been over 60 years since the Americans have so thoroughly trounced the Germans, but Inside Line has the numbers to prove it. The Edmunds news service had a chance to take the new Cadillac CTS-V (which we're driving in upstart New York as we speak) and its supercharged V8 for a spin around GM's Milford proving grounds and brought along its testing gear. The resulting bombardment ought to have the Germans thoroughly embarrassed and rebuilding for decades to come. The CTS-V ran the quarter-mile in a scant 12.5 seconds, besting the 12.7 it takes for either the BMW M5 or the Mercedes E63 AMG. Getting back to a standstill was another hit to the Bimmer and the Benz, with the Caddy stopping from 60-0 mph in 109 feet – five feet less than it takes the M5 and six shorter than the AMG. And if you're thinking that brakes and power are easy to upgrade and that the Cadillac couldn't possibly best the Germans on the handling course, think again: the CTS-V ran the slalom at 71.1 mph, while the M5 and E63 ran it in 68.5 and 65 mph respectively. Deutschland über alles indeed.
