  1. Mom won't buy anything but FWD or AWD.... and she lived in South Florida. For me? One of each please.
  2. dead is a perfectly acceptable alternative.
  3. If GM had listened to blogs... it would be a very different GM right now.
  4. hmm... ls1... and a frankenwagon.... you thinkin what I'm thinkin?
  5. Now if they had built that...... that thing is fairly hot. though a bit small looking for an RL....it'd make a great TL.
  6. and the C8 Corvette is rumored to be mid-engined.....
  7. Look a the W-body sized wheel cutouts....
  8. Great sadness. The CTS is gone. It was truly my most dependable vehicle ever. I'm going to go cry now.
  9. most of your "thoughts" have already been debunked on this board.....
  10. I am not alone in my experience of poor interior durability in a VW, however my combination of issues may indeed be unique.
  11. The VW interiors look great and feel great...... until they start falling apart in your hands. Just a short list of Passat interior troubles my ex's 70,000 mile car had: Power/heated mirror control knob snapped off Cupholder "plood" broke off Cupholder catch would no longer hold, cupholder remained permanently open interfering with HVAC operation corners of passenger side airbag cover curling up Rear sunshade retainer clip broken passenger side seatbelt wouldn't retract Probably more electrical, but sometimes the automatic HVAC system wouldn't "boot up" when you started the car. So you'd have to turn the car off and try again. just sayin.....
  12. I grew up in NJ.
  13. Drove the Roadmaster tonight. Dominic is taking her to work tonight <he works the graveyard shift at UPS> and is going to sort out some odds and ends during the day tomorrow. She has all new brake lines, new rear shocks, and a few other incidentals. Since she was driven less than 5,000 miles in the last year, she didn't need an emissions test but I don't think there is any fear of her failing that. She ride quiet and smooth... just as a roadmaster should. I pick her up tomorrow.
  14. Show of hands. How many on this board have sat in a production G8?
  15. There really is a Wikipedia page for everything. Also known as Taylor ham.
  16. Step 1. Remove Chrysler engine/transmission Step 2. Install Chevy 350/TH425 Step 4. Profit
  17. I grew up smack dab between the two of you and Corndogs were an integral part of my upbringing. That'd be like saying you don't know what Pork Roll is....... psha!
  18. As I implied earlier, she wants a BMW but she doesn't know why. If it doesn't matter if it's a 3-series or 7-series or X5 or Z4..... then truly, the only thing that matters is the hood ornament.
  19. This is a case where if could be a rusted out old Corolla with BMW badges on it and she'll still want it. You want a G8, she wants to say she has a BMW. You buy the G8 and do a badge job... you're both happy.
  20. I meant the Kappas.... why are the Kappas poorly conceived? They look great and sell well. Probably have a decent profit for a limited production vehicle too... all the hardware is off the shelf. XLR is a good car. It gets poor reviews because it's an in between car amongst it's competitors. It's much sportier than the Lexus and Jag but it doesn't have the HP of the SL.... but doesn't have the price tag either. I'd say the Aura is the other decent Epsilon. It's the dealer network that is failing it. The one I drove felt like a FWD CTS at a $10,000 discount. 9-3 after the refresh is also good... but it's expected to be a 3-series when it isn't intended to be by Saab. It has top notch crash ratings. Great powertrain selection. Sweedish quirky interior. No... it's not a 3-series.... that's the point. Sigma.... CTS v.1 Put Cadillac back on the car map. CTS v.2 Changed the entry lux game in the American's favor. STS.. doesn't do harm to Cadillac's image... and I've been seeing LOTS of the refreshed one around. SRX v.1 consistently rated one of the best handling mid-sized, mid-lux crossovers. SRX v.1.5 maintains the performance of the original, adds fantabulous interior. That GM didn't get the SRX product mix right is no fault of the platform. Yeah, Sigma is a total dud. And not that I'm saying the W-body is great but, Impala retail sales are still up in the face of newer cars from Ford, Honda, Toyota, and even Chevy.
  21. the small isuzu trucks are probably a great buy as long as you plan to keep it till it croaks. Any Chevy or GMC dealer can service them.
  22. So does the Hyundai Azera. That on the option list too?
  23. Bangle butt Infiniti headlights I see they have the 4DSC sticker on there..... At the price the Maxima will run....the choice is Maxima.. or G8? Which is more sporty.... What's not to like?
