Are you primarily talking about gay rights, Paulie? 'Cause Obama isn't going to do anything more for you than McCain would.....he made that pretty apparent in the debate when asked....

But you haven't told me, or convinced me why Obama is a better choice......or even a good choice at that.......you've just told me what you dislike about McCain..... It may be the "lesser" of the evils.....I'll admit that.....but I see Obama as the far bigger "evil" in this case.....

Funny because....in my social and work setting......everyone I talk to likes Palin........that's why it's so surprising what's going on in these political threads..... I really thought the discussions would be much more evenly-split....

I'm not being combatitive.....I just really don't see how or why SO many people are SO overly supportive of this man.......and SO against McCain..... It's like partisan-ship at it's worst.....or so it seems.....

What's probably the biggest domestic issue we have right now? The economy..... Can you defend how Obama's policies will do anything to reverse the tide? Seriously? In my opinion, the stronger you make business (big AND small) the more people you employee, or keep employeed.....his policies work against business in just about every facet.... You have a dead economy, then it really doesn't matter how many social programs you intend to introduce.....there will be no one to pay for them (and yes that's you and me paying for them.) "Spread the wealth! Spread the wealth! Spread the wealth!" I just love it. And thanks, Joe, for informing us how Obama will be "tested" by a national disaster once he's in office.....that gives me plenty of calm too.... wtf?

What is it with you guys and this Obama character? Seriously? This can't be just a democrat/republican thing.....this guy didn't even EXIST in the spotlight until before he began his run for the presidency.... Don't you find his alliances with so many radical fanaticists even remotely scary? He's shadier to me than an oak tree forest.....I don't trust him AT ALL......and frankly, his tax-and-spend policies and those of the democratic congress are going to send us into another depression..... I'm one that voted for Kerry.....and would have considered voting for Hillary..... But this guy is bad news all the way.....mark my words.....

There was a lawsuit begun in August (by a democrat) that challenges the fact of Obama being eligible to run for president. The lawsuit, apparently, has overwhelming evidence to support he was NOT born in the U.S.A...... I'm surprised it hasn't hit the mainstream media....because this is BIG.....(but then the mainstream media is so overwhelmingly biased towards Obama it doesn't surprise me I guess...) One interesting item was that apparently Obama travelled on a Haitian passport while he was in college.....and the theory is...IF he had been a U.S.-born citizen, he would have had to denounce his U.S. citizenship in order to get the Haitian passport....

I agree with YOU. She made me decide to vote for McCain. I think you need a sort of checks-and-balances in the white house.....and I think a democratic congress NEEDS a republican white house. I also think Palin's conservative views will be a good fit for McCain....who is a bit more to the left on many things than she is. The only real issue I disagree with her on is her stance on gay issues. BUT, Obama is really no better. At least not from what I've heard. I also like her demeanor, how she carries herself, how she speaks......to me, she sounds intelligent and well-rounded....regardless of what the media tries to spin.

I really don't think you can generalize any more about any vehicle's overall reliability....... My '07 CTS, over 39,000 miles, has been THE most trouble-free car I've ever had....and still has a complete lack of rattles or loosening of the chassis..... Yet there was a customer in our service department a while back that was in tears, literally, because her CTS had been an absolute nightmare.....more problems than you can count.

All joking aside......if GM had taken that screen, continually improved it and made it more user-friendly.....well....GM could have been seen as the leader in touch-screen interfaces! (Ironic that now most manufacturers utilize the very same screens to integrate their nav and radio systems....)

The Enclave is a premium product relative to it's sister Lambdas......Buick is not a premium brand.

We've battled on this before (friendly battle)........ The Lucerne is no Lexus competitor. No Buick is. (With the exception, IMHO, of the Enclave possibly.) Just because a Lucerne sells close to as many cars as the ES doesn't mean Buick is attracting those buyers......or that Buick is even on their shopping list. Look at average transaction price, model mix, and consumer demographics. The vast majority of Lucernes that are sold transact in the high-$20K range (CX and CXL V6 models.) While I think the concept of Buick offering Lexus-style appointments and ride quality is sound......the reality is that Buick can offer those attributes but in no way should be marketed as a competitor to Lexus. Lexus is now a tier-1 luxury make....along with BMW and Mercedes-Benz. That is where Cadillac's place is in this industry.

Couple of things........realistically, the CTS doesn't sell anywhere near $34K. The average transaction price is up around the low- to -mid $40's. This is in well-equipped-to-loaded ES range. (We probably sell just as many $48K-$50K CTSs as we do $38K-$40K ones.) We see way more cross-shopping and trade-ins from the Lexus ES than we do the IS. In fact, I can't recall one single customer coming in with an IS cross-shopping with CTS. It's ES all the way. Now, this is a good thing as it proves we are able to conquer the all-hailing Lexus customer......but the reality in the marketplace is that it is the CTS that is battling the ES. Buick is in a $h!load of trouble if they try to market the new LaCrosse against the ES. May sound good on paper.....but in the real world, that's simply not gonna be reality.

True. And that is truly the problem with Chrysler. In no other product segment did they execute a vehicle as well as they did with the LX cars. A "polarizing" design could mean many things. The 1986 E-coupes from GM were most certainly some of the most polarizing redesigns to come from GM in the recent past. In this case, we are talking about dramatically smaller FWD coupes (and the Seville sedan) that failed to carry on the sheer presence of their predecessors......and to many consumers, looked like rehashed copies of the less-expensive N-car coupes of the time. These cars were so polarizing in their way that consumers stayed away from them in droves.

Well, in my opinion, somewhere like L.A. is where GM should showcase two important, and competitive, new offerings such as these. It may have been a cost-cutting issue.....but Detroit, IMHO, is too predictable of a venue for debuting a new domestic automobile. Showcasing these cars in Los Angeles, home of the imports, would be quite a strong message to send......the local media exposure in and of itself would be worth it.....and remember, L.A. gets just as much national and international media coverage as does Detroit. IMO, I feel normal (non-enthusiast) consumers probably give a rat's ass what goes on at a Detroit auto show.....import buyers in the west coast, southeast, east coast, etc......probably don't even follow NAIAS.
