Got back Sunday from my 10 day vacation/road trip around the southeast. Had great weather, was good to get away from wintry NE Ohio. Visited several beaches, toured historic Beaufort SC and Savannah GA, explored the mountains of western NC, toured a couple museums (NASCAR Hall of Fame and Museum in Charlotte NC and The Big House/Allman Brothers Band Museum in Macon GA). My CT6 performed great on the 2100 mile trip, soaking up the miles comfortably. Saw a few interesting old cars including this unusual JDM RHD Toyota Crown Athlete wagon was parked next to me one morning outside my hotel in Wytheville, VA and this MGB GT in Beaufort, SC. A pic of my Caddy outside my hotel in Beaufort, SC and at a pull off up in the mountains near Cherokee, NC.

That's an AI image...looks like a mix of a Plymouth Duster and a Chevy Nova.

Went in for my annual service/oil change (about 5000 miles since the last one). Been parked most of the winter, weather been cold and snowy.. warming up and melting. Got a new set of tires last week (replaced the Bridgestone Potenzas with Firestone Firehawks), getting an oil change and new battery today--I think I had the original battery--after all the cold weather recently, noticed it was down to 10.3 volts when starting, but rising to 15.x after a few min. Want it in ship shape before my 10 vacation in two weeks..road trip down to Beaufort & Hilton Head, SC, Savannah and Macon GA and Asheville, NC.. After picking it up from the dealer, stopped for tacos near home. Still turn around and look at it after parking.. beautiful car.

It's gorgeous....just thinking of missed opportunities...wish GM had built the Cadillac Elmiraj...a similar luxury coupe concept.

Yes, they look weird and bulging.. could be toned down. I don't care for the off white steering wheel, would look dirty pretty fast I'm afraid. I like the styling overall, though.

Or the old and less old...that BMW X5 is at least 20 years old. Not sure what the little car on the trailer is.

Reminds me of reading about actor Christian Bale (Batman) who drives a 90s Tacoma around Hollywood.

Ford has seemed to really drop the ball in recent years. trinacriabob's post on Saturday about 20 years on C&G got me thinking, had to look...I joined August 21, 2005 so it's been 20 years this year for me also. That date was coincidentally, my late brother's 56th birthday--an age I'm 7 months from now. Life moves in mysterious ways at times.

Funny about that 'test'. They misspelled 'fazed'.

Yeah...my impression was that in the past in the UK they were an old money type of car. They were conservatively styled, quietly luxurious..now just another gauche bling toy for vapid overhyped people.

Re: Angeles Crest..I've driven it a couple times when I was playing tourist in LA (both times in rentals--once in an early 00s Nissan 350Z, once in an early 00s Lincoln Town Car)...it's a beautiful road, but with a lot of hairpin turns and blind corners, some drivers and motorcyclists take unnecessary chances and drive recklessly. I've seen seen it in a lot of car review videos and movies also over the years.

Yeah, the stupid f*ckers that are in the KY bourbon industry all voted for Trump, and now they are whining about the tariffs destroying their business. F them, they got what they voted for. Same with the whiny-ass Midwestern farmers that voted for Trump. You reap what you sow..

The black SUV in the last pic is a Rolls Royce Cullinan...definitely a Hollywood bling wagon for people with too much plastic surgery and money...maybe a Kardashian or Kardashian-adjacent. That 80s Riv convertible is sweet as is the silver '62 Impala.

I'll never forget the times I've gone across the pond on BA 747s...or on trips to Hawaii where I walked through the open air concourses and they were parked close by, where I could see them relatively up close and huuuuge...love those bigguns.

That green Genesis wagon is gorgeous... would love to see a Cadillac sport wagon again.

With cars, I do like dark metallic gray on luxury sedans and sports cars, esp with red interiors (I love red interiors—so uncommon today)… but those light battleship grays and matte grays…ugh.

One of my sister’s friends has gone overboard with white. Both her Michigan lake house and Florida house are all white inside, walls, kitchen, white carpet, white furniture, white trim, white dog…a bit much IMO.

I can see black/gray thing being popular in the PNW with it's preponderance of gray skies and cloudy days (which I see a lot of here in Cleveland). Colorful is out with cars also--all the boring whites, blacks and grays with black wheels, black out trim, etc that is so trendy and so boring... Maybe it is part of the overall gloom and doom pop cultural themes of the current era..zombies and post apocalyptic themes are everywhere.. I had my dark and gloomy phase in my early to mid 20s in the 90s with college and grad school beneath gray gloomy NE Ohio and SE Michigan skies, listening to a lot of goth, industrial, metal and grunge music.. But I still liked colorful cars like my red Mustang.

Yeah, I like natural woods where possible..not too dark and gloomy. Brick or stonework around fireplaces (not painted!)... the whole paint everything shades of gray or black aesthetic is so not me. I also don't like everything bright white..the hospital aesthetic isn't for me either. Or austere unfinished concrete walls..I've seen that in some modern design houses, hideous IMO.

I can't stand gray or black trim or wall paint inside (or outside) a house... gray has been trendy for at least a decade, and black has been getting more popular in recent years. Yeeech..
