  1. Saw that. Some wankerbot posting spam. I reported them.
  2. That is such a tedious, dull drive...may I never drive across Texas, Kansas, or Nebraska again...
  3. Going to be a nice sunny day. Got to get out of my home office and take a walk..
  4. Yes..I like the cooler weather...finally seem to have shaken off a cold that's been bothering me for a couple of weeks.
  5. Had a manager back then w/ a '98 or '99 Passat wagon w/ AWD and V6...was a nice car.
  6. Some people just want to watch the world burn.
  7. Yeah, Stellantis era JCDR are no bueno. I've had no problems w/ my '14 GC (FCA era build)....but I don't see myself trading it on a newer one (the JL GC has a nice interior, can't really warm up to the exterior styling).
  8. People seem to forget Canada has 10 provinces (states) and 3 territories...so that would be states 51-61 or 51-64.
  9. Reality is complex.
  10. Done flying for the year...a flight to Denver, a flight to Colorado Springs via Chicago Midway, and two flights to DFW and back were the sum total of my flights this year. Next vacay will be likely a road trip in Spring. Thinking of driving down to Beaufort, SC, Savannah and Tybee Island w/ a visit to Macon to see the Allman Brother Band 'Big House Museum'...
  11. Cutting off from society and leaving the country isn't realistic for me, I still have a career, mortgage, cars, dogs, etc. But I am minimizing my social media and tuning out the news, avoiding MAGAts, etc. A couple former coworkers that were a bit older have retired and left the country in the last year--one moved to Costa Rica and one to France.
  12. Long had a thing for older Benzes, esp. the W126 S-class and W124 E-class. Drove my sister's '84 500SEL and '91 300CE often when I lived in Arizona.
  13. South Florida, lots of folks from Cuba and PR. My high school in the Keys was very diverse. Cancer. Was only 39.
  14. I went to high school with a Cuban-Puerto Rican fellow named Fabian, and his nickname was Fabio..sadly passed about 15 years ago.
  15. Yes, very sunny, very dry. And winter is either a dusting of snow or 2+ feet. Then more sun.
  16. I still love the Front Range…felt a twinge of homesickness, lived there nearly 12 years. Took pics of my old apartment building in the Springs, Garden of the Gods, and the office building where I had my first cubicle nearly 30 years ago…
  17. Speaking of Lufthansa, I watched a recent video on YT about how Lufthansa is the only major carrier still with a fleet of 747s...because they do their own maintenance, have a large supply of parts, etc. Thought that was interesting. I haven't been across the pond lately, but my sister just got back from a couple weeks in France, flew Delta from JFK to Paris and back. Said the 767s were cramped in 'comfort' seating.
  18. I had a Nissan Sentra rental car in late August in Colorado Springs. It was a decent drive, but unfortunately had the base screen...no nav, so I had look at my phone screen to navigate...though I knew where I was most of the time, some streets had changed in the 15 years since I was last there. And I ended up in an area in the mountains w/ no phone service. Went up in the mountains to Woodland Park and Cripple Creek, decent enough power at 6000-7000 ft elevation.
  19. I could see NASCAR going that way...I can imagine the next generation of 'stock cars' being Traverse, Explorer, and Highlander themed...or larger with Tahoe, Expedition and Sequoia...or smaller and sleeker-- Equinox, Mach-E, and Rav4..
  20. I love me some Richard Ashcroft and The Verve.. And Pearl Jam... And M83.. And back to the 80s, with Def Leppard.. And some Van Halen...
  21. Been enjoying the fall weather, knowing winter is coming...out rolling in the Caddy last night and today--listening to a couple of my favorite '80s albums--Def Leppard's 'Hysteria' and Van Halen's '5150'... then this afternoon took the Mustang out, listening to U2's 'The Joshua Tree'. Has it really been that long since I was 17? (yes). Back home and I put on some Rush--'Subdivisions' speaks to my computer geek teenage side, 'Time Stand Still' really speaks to me at 55, as does Pink Floyd's 'Time'. Going to put on Pink Floyd's 'The Division Bell', which was an essential part of my soundtrack through the mid 90s. Got to get some Depeche Mode and Pearl Jam in there (I love, love 'Sirens'). I've also been enjoying some Great Lakes Brewing Company Ocktoberfest beer..going to start a bonfire in my firepit tonight and listen to more 80s-90s music probably...
  22. I really like having a free mile-long beach less than 20 miles from home. Went up there yesterday evening to watch the sunset and listen to the waves. This was something I really missed when I lived in the concrete desert. I keep folding chairs, towels, flip flops in the cars in case the need to beach happens any time..;)
  23. Here's a pic I took Sunday at my favorite local beach on Lake Erie...been up there the last two weekends...taking a folding chair and a floppy hat, sit and listen to the waves..very relaxing...dip my toes in the lake. One of my happy places where I can shut out the drama of the world.
  24. Nice fall weather in NE Ohio. Trees starting to turn. 70, sunny, had rain last night and yesterday after almost 2 months of dry weather. Taco Tuesday, heading out to the Mexican restaurant down the street…
  25. My CT6 has these thumb rest bumps at 10 and 2 that I use often. But when I’m doing a straight line cruise on the freeway I often hook my thumbs at 5 and 7 so I can rest my elbows on the armrests.
