  1. Looks good..very clean..very clean...the shape makes it look smaller and less bulky, I think.. Where are the interior pics, though? I don't see any in this thread.
  2. Camaro prototype based on the Cobalt that they are going to show at the 06 NAIAS? :)
  3. A MY 2007 intro would be consistent with history...the YJ came out as an 87 and the TJ as a 97.
  4. Since we're all on Sesame Street here, when can we expect a D, E & F to bridge the gap between the C and the G-wagon? Well, they already have the E-class... then the S-class. (of course the coupes, sports cars and SUVs are on their own naming schemes (CLK, CLS, CL; SLK, SL; MLK, ML)
  5. Ok...must be a slow news day...you guys are getting all worked up by a blurry photo of a reflection of a car....judging by the headlight, it looks like an '06 Impala.
  6. I think it hit it around bumper level and offset...the left side of the Lincoln was relatively unscathed, but the right side... almost as if the car folded up and in on itself...
  7. I'm looking forward to seeing the 'burban....though I assume it will be just like the Tahoe but longer.
  8. I was in an accident back in '94 when a Ford van rear-ended a stopped Town Car at about 45 mph (pushing the Lincoln into my Mustang, totalling both cars)...the Lincoln was hit so hard the body buckled at the B-pillar and folded the car up in the middle..there must have been a foot or more between the bent frame and the floorpan, and the middle of the frame was 3 feet off the ground (It was sitting on 3 wheels). My Mustang was hit above the rear bumper (taillight level) by the Lincoln, shoving the decklid through the rear window and the back tail panel almost to the back seat...(neither door would open, I crawled out through the drivers window..) No one was injured, though the lady in the Lincoln and I both had some whiplash...
  9. One thing working against Buick as far as those numbers go, though, is that the Boomers are the generation that first embraced imports broadly...are people that have been driving Japanese and German for 25 years or more going to go Buick?
  10. Buick kind of lost their mojo in the '70s.... in the 50s and 60s, they had a bold, brash luxury style that was different than Cadillac style and definitely different than Olds... the '50s Roadmasters, the '60s Wildcats and Electras, the first through third generation Rivieras exemplified that , IMHO... But by the late '70s and pretty much up to today, Buicks by and large have pretty largely indistinguishable from their Chevy, Pontiac, and Olds platform mates--really only the grilles and taillights differed, nothing substantial.... (a few cars stood out, like the Grand Nationals, GNX, Reatta, the Rivieras, but otherwise....)
  11. Wasn't Jacko a fan of that mag? I remember some DJs riffing on that back when his trail was going on...
  12. I doubt it...
  13. Interesting...more variations...it seems like Holden has made a ton of performance variants of the Commodore, Monaro and other models over the last decade...every few months it's some different HSV or other performance variation...
  14. Yeah, it's wierd...I know 3 people that have xBs and 2 people with Elements--all are 50 or older. Though I did have a coworker my age (35) that had an Element but he recently traded it for a new 325i.
  15. One thing that is really interesting how a certain car's demographic can be quite different in different markets.... in the US I think of the Civic as a teenager or twentysomething's car, but i read that in the UK the average age buyer for the current model is 58!
  16. Interesting...must be a change for '06...in '05 they were the Montana SV6 while they still offered the old-style Montana....(probably kept the Montana label for 1 model year for insurance purposes, like Nissan did with the original Altima (Stanza Altima) and the Armada (Pathfinder Armada in it's first year)..
  17. The sheetmetal is different between the '77-79 and '80-85 (?) coupes.... the '80-85 had a more vertical rear window... the interiors were pretty much the same, though...and of course, the engines differed...(425 in '77-79 then 368 in '80 and the 4.1 came about somewhere in there...there were also diesels in the early '80s and even some V6 deVilles...
  18. The Century or the Sable comes to mind as the most likely of that group. My mother is a older female driver (past 70) but I don't think she would be interested in any of those cars.... Her primary cars are a '98 Lincoln Town Car and an '05 Lincoln Navigator. She also has a '90 Mustang LX 5.0 convertible, a '69 Mustang Mach 1 (had it since it was new), and 3 '67-68 Cougars (all cars she & my late father collected over the years)..
  19. Offer it here with a diesel and a manual and it would make a great commuter car... or a family car for small, upscale families... potential similar market to the Volvo V40, Audi A3 and BMW 1-series...
  20. Montana SV6...either become just 'SV6' or dropped completely... BPG dealers don't need two minivans... As far as existing, longer-lived names: Grand Prix.... I suspect it will become the 'G8' eventually..
  21. Bigger...this fits between the A and C (hence the B name).... A comes before B, B comes before C, etc...
  22. CSX sounds more plasuable than 'CXS'--after all, Buick had a GS, GSX, GNX, etc... 'CXS' is inconsistent.
  23. It's interesting what the US accomplished in space 35+ years ago while today it seems to be nothing but a series of failures...
  24. Yes, and the long front overhang...GM's larger FWD models always seem to have a lot of front overhang....
  25. Hmmm...if I had to choose between the two, I'd go for the Smart...the Hummer is beyond stupid. The Smart would be a great commuter car, but for an all-around car, I'd probably need something larger that seats 4..
