  1. Wow... Focus or Trans Am.... Dude, you only live once - go for the Trans Am!!! But be logical about it and make sure you can afford it and that it won't kill you financially. I had a '95 Trans Am and sorely miss it; however, having two kids (13 & 2), a T/A isn't a great, practical family hauler. Go for the fun while you can. Just my :twocents:
  2. Atleast you know what part of the SKY this designer likes the most
  3. Oh I had this really strange feeling as Fly and his friend pulled out of the parking lot in my SKY and he yelled out that I could take the LeSabre home instead Ocn, see I told you that you should have stayed. Geez, you could always go to next year's reunion . You choose family over the SKY - what's wrong with you man?!?!?! Hahahahaha! I lowered the top, put down the windows, handed over the keys and waited patiently for the four of them to have their turn behind the wheel. I would have let Camino's mom take it out too, but I had a hard enough time just getting her to sit in the darn car! (thanks Oldsmboi!) Thinking back now, I should have let Camino take his mom out in it Yes, your Sierra is one fine truck . I think if you stuck around, you would have stolen the thunder from my SKY Which is a shame really, because the "thunder" was suppose to be all about Fly and the LeSabre anyway. I'm not one for major mods to my vehicles, but if I happen to get a 2008 or 2009 Sierra next summer, I definitely want the name of the Menonite shop that did your exhaust. That was one sweet sound! I have one of those frontend shots of your truck as my desktop picture. Oh, attached are the pictures of the 2006 SEMA GMC Sierra All-Terrain show truck we were talking about, just in case you haven't seen it yet.
  4. Camino, if you liked the one I already posted, attached are the other three that I took. :AH-HA_wink: Ocn, I can't get your truck out of my head! It's one great looking truck. I actually wanted to go for a ride in it, but unfortunately you couldn't stay long enough for me to ask (and subsequently, you didn't get to take the SKY out like the others ). I'm seriously considering getting a Sierra next year even more now that I saw AND heard <great exhaust note man!> your truck (even though the Acadia is a more practical family hauler).
  5. Attached are the pictures I took of the gathering (sorry, not many). Enjoy! Me & the SKY made it home safe and sound around 10:45 PM (left Berwyn around 9:30ish). Camino, the road you told me to take - with all the twisties - was fun! I drove all the way home with the top down - at night it was beautiful (compared to the really hot day). Only thing I experienced was right past the lastr Philly exit (351) a Jeep Liberty about 3-4 car lenghts in front of me blew a tire going about 70 MPH. I never heard a tire blow on the turnpike (usually because the windows are up and the AC or heat's on), so it was interesting to say the least. At first I was like "what the hell was that sound", then realized the Jeep in front of me was fighting to stay straight. I then realized they lost a tire; they pulled over safely and had to deal with that crappy issue in the dark around 10:30 PM. I had a great time Saturday night - seeing those I've met previously again, and meeting new people. Fly, I'm glad you and Richie made it home safely and I hpe the trip was an experience you'll remember forever.

  7. Geez, after last Saturday's test drive, I wonder which one Saturn model that would be?!?!? :AH-HA_wink:
  8. http://www.skyroadster.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11057 When visiting with Fly, Camino, Oldsmoboi, Ocnblu, and BlackandBlueLandscaper and showing off the SKY, they couldn't tell that my car had been damaged in an accident. I told them that quite a few of the Kappa cars have been involved in accidents over the last two years and many were able to be repaired, although others met their unfortunate fate too early. The link above is from the skyroadster.com fourm; while the first page goes back to January of this year, there are some collages of accident pictures. But a recent addition on page 2 shows what a Solstice looks like when it flips completely over. I figured I would share these pics and stories with inquiring minds here at C&G.
  9. I had to have the front bumper replaced on my AURA only 2-3 months into our ownership. The wife was stuck behind an 18-wheeler on I-295 North the day after a snow/ice storm. A chunk of ice blew off the top of the trailer, and flew into the left corner of the front bumper smashing it. The bumper and two lower grille inserts (center & left side) were needed, plus removal, paint & installation for a whopping $850! So don't worry about the car being totalled, evn though your repair bill will be higher due to additional damage to the fender & hood. I had an HHR rental for 2 days while it was being repaired. Best of luck!
  10. Congrats on the purchase. Sounds like you got a good deal. Post more pics when you can. Back in the '90s I totally wanted a Suburban (GMC though), even though it was a very impractical vehicle for my needs (I started really wanting one when they redesigned them in '92, when I was 17 years old!). I remember sitting in them at all the auto shows up through the turn of the century. I sold a few whenI worked at the dealership back in 1999/2000. I got to drive one out to a customer's house, about 50 miles or more from my dealership, for an at-home delivery. Unfortunately, I had to drive their trade-in back - a '97 or '98 Chrysler Town & Country that was not well cared for. I was impressed with the all-new-for-2000 Yukon XL, but the pricing and fuel economy (plus the lack of a need for such a big vehicle) still continues to keep one out of my hands. Best of luck with your new ride, and keep us posted.
  11. Walt, you have my sympathies. I too have been a loyal GM owner, having now owned to date 11 GM vehicles (3 were used, the rest all purchased/leased new). I'd hate to be in your situation (about leaving GM), because I like their trucks and cars the best. But I agree, if your loyalty isn't going to count for anything, then why continue to give them your hard earned dollars for a piece-of-junk product? There's an old saying that goes "don't bite the hand that feeds you"... and in your case, GM is biting pretty hard. Here's hoping that someone from GM, either that reads our posts or through a contact, comes to your rescue and keeps you "in the family". Dear GM, Please get your act together and help this owner out NOW. Thanks!!! Signed, Another loyal GM owner - 2007 Saturn SKY (purchase) - 2007 Saturn AURA XE (lease, expires Nov. '09) - 2005 GMC Envoy SLT (lease, expires Aug '08) - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu LT Sedan (purchase) - 2003 Buick Rendezvous CX (lease) - 2001 GMC Sonoma Highrider (lease) - 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GT Sedan (lease) - 1999 Pontiac Grand Am GT1 Sedan (lease) - 1995 Pontiac Trans Am (purchase; used) - 1992 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 (purchased; used) - 1978 Chevrolet Camaro LT (purchased, used)
  12. What everybody here is forgeting is that Saturn sold the L-Series from 2001-2004 with a 4cyl model as the base (all 2005's had the V6 standard). There are current Saturn owners that will be wanting to replace their old L-Series, equipped with a 4 cyl, that will want another midsize 4cyl car from Saturn. Plus anyone else out there shopping Camry or Accord 4 cyl's can now cross-shop a 4 cyl AURA. I will agree it goes against what Saturn has become with their renaissance, but Saturn I'm sure did their research and if the market demands a 4 cyl, then what other choice do they have but to offer one or continue to lose on sales? I for one will not buy a Malibu (I don't like any of the Chevy dealers in the counties I'm in & around, so no more Chevies for me!!!), so if I wanted a 4 cyl midsize car, the AURA would be on my shopping list and not the Malibu.
  13. Camino, do you have an "official" list of all the attendees?
  14. In New Jersey, the #1 bridge deemed most deficient AND important to the state's economy is the Pulaski Skyway Bridge (US 1 and US 9): It connects Newark & Jersey City, and was featured on a MSNBC show last night regarding the Minnesota bridge collapse. If you look at the concrete in the picture posted above, you can see the damage. When they filmed on the bridge, there were chunks of metal rusted away. This bridge was constructed between 1930 and 1932, and has been in operation ever since opening day. On some of the Philadelphia news stations tonight, they featured various bridges, including some of Interstate 95 through Philly, that are in dire need of repair or replacement. Scary to think how many people drive over these elevated roadways and bridges everyday, not knowing how they are putting their life in harms way.
  15. GMC Topkick Limo:
  16. Cool, thanks for the link! I forgot about this SEMA show truck. I could do without those wheels and chromed gas door, but I'm happy with the rest. Lately I've gotten back into the "I want a pickup truck" mode (I know that the Acadia is a much more practical vehicle for my family's needs compared to a Sierra in any form), but I could see this truck satisfying that itch. Not that I go off-roading, but maybe this would encourage me to start a new hobby
  17. Count me in, I'll be there (sometime after 3-4PM maybe?)!!!
  18. I must say I'm jealous that you've already seen this truck - lucky you! I'm wondering about the grille... can you tell me anything about it (from what you saw)? I'm guessing that the three bars are chrome plated, but it's just a guess.
  19. I still haven't talked to the wife yet, so I'll make it a priority Thursday to find out and let you know (she's sleeping now, and I learned it's not in my best interest to wake her up for a question like that!!!). Again, I'll be in Macungie until 4 or 5 PM... I'm not sure how long it would take me to get to your place from there, but I definitely want to be included in the dinner plans. If needed, I can try to leave earlier, but since I'm not sure that I'm coming yet, don't make plans around me (not that I'm assuming you would )
  20. The Batmobile is black, not red.I was going to say DeLorean, but it too isn't red in the "Back to the Future" movies. Hmm......
  21. I'm excited about this: Depending on how it looks, it may make me talk the wife out of an '08 Acadia and into an '08 Sierra All Terrain!!!
  22. Lucky you! I'd love to know someone in Austrailia that could send me Holden gifts (like what you got, plus brochures and other stuff). I did sign up for a brochure online a year or so ago and by some miracle I actually received it! That's the only piece of Holden automobilia I have in my collection... well, I never have looked on eBay though, but I don;t want to spend the money. Enjoy your gifts!
  23. What are the plans for later Saturday? I'll be in Macungie during the day; Camino, I'm not sure if you're easy to get to on my way back to Jersey later? I'll be taking the PA Turnpike from Jersey to the Northeast Extension and back home the same way. If the wife doesn't go with me, and you're place is easy to get to from where I'll be, maybe I can join the group for dinner or the evening get-together? Let me know so I can make my plans. I'd like to meet you in person Fly, see the famous "Sly/C&G" Buick, and see you again Bob and Drew (and meet whoever else is going to be there).
  24. Thank you for the responses and information. As always, the knowledge around here never ceases to amaze me!!! Thanks for the education.
  25. Really? I think over 10,000 Saturn SKY and SKY RL owners would have to disagree with you, plus the legions of people who wish they had a car as cool as ours
