I like the shape and look of it, I am glad they went for clean lines rather than the craziness of the CTS coupe. The new logo is ugly and too wide and I miss the wreath.

It has a little bit of a poor man's Jaguar F-type look to it, especially form the rear and side. Which is a good thing, because the F-type, which is a stunning car, is like $80,000 and not too attainable. And what would you rather say "I drive a 200 hp BRZ" or "I drive a 315 hp Stinger!"

Haha, I didn't. It always takes them 10 years to get an NSX to production, I figured it was just another concept on the slow process to making it.

I hope it has a 305 hp V6 from an Accord and costs $125,000. Seems about right for an NSX. If with the hybrid system it makes 350-400 hp, hopefully it weighs over 4,000 lbs because of the batteries. Honda seems clueless on how to build a sports car.

It has a sleek look, but it also looks bland and like a lot of other cars at the same time. Two good engine options and the 9-speed is nice, but I had a 300 rental recently with the Pentastar V6 and it seemed rough as you revved it, I think other V6s are better. I don't trust Chrysler build quality either, that 300 had loads of plastic inside of it and I thought the build quality and interior materials in a Fusion, Sonata or Optima were better than in the Chrysler 300. They better have upped their game if they want this car to contend with the heavyweights.

I like the name, much better than mashing 3 letters together. They should make the Stinger (drop the GT4), 315 hp and 2900 lbs is pretty amazing sounding. It got me thinking, a 1996 C4 Corvette had 300 hp and weighed 3300 lbs. A BMW M3 of 10 years ago had 333 hp and weighed 3400 lbs. So you could be getting Corvette or M3 like performance of 15 years ago for Kia pricing, which you'd have to think is mid to high $20k.

There is only so much you can do with styling, it looks like an F150 so the loyalists should like that. I think it looks fine, nothing great, but not bad in any way. The weight savings is great, I wouldn't be surprised if the 2.7L ecoboost out runs some of the competitions V8s. If they can get 300 hp from a 2.3 liter four in the Mustang, you have to think the Ecoboost 2.7 could be in the 330 hp and torque range. The fuel economy of the 2.7L should be quite an advantage over the other guys V8s also. Hard to believe a F150 with a sub 3 liter engine. I read rumor of a 3.2 liter turbo diesel being developed for the Transit, that engine would be perfect for the F150, I think with a diesel the F150 could hit 30 mpg.

It sounds like it will be expensive, and essentially replace the ZR1. If GM charges $75k for a Camaro with 500 hp, Brembos and some carbon fiber, I wouldn't be surprised to see this car priced near $100k before options. But a 911 or GT-R is basically $100k so it would be right in there.

Much more professional grade than the Colorado with that wood trim on the doors.

Chevrolet News:2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 To Start At $75,000*
smk4565 replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
I agree with Dwight, why buy a Camaro Z28 when a Corvette Z06 is the same price, and the new Stingray with performance options is probably cheaper and faster also. Or you could get a 2 year old GT-R. The problem here is it is $75,000 for a Camaro, just like the Equus is $65,000 for a Hyundai, it is a tough sell. At least if you pay $90k for a Porsche 911 you get to tell people you drive a Porsche 911. -
No it didn't, I think the CLA will bring a new buyer in. Younger and not as wealthy obviously but also a buyer looking for a more youthful looking car, and something sporty rather than the C-class which is a bit more formal in appearance. Mercedes ended the year the #1 selling luxury brand in the USA also. The C-class had a really strong year for a car that came out for 2008, and the new S-class is dominating that segment as expected, and that should continue in 2014 as they release the coupe and V12 models.

Chevrolet News:2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 To Start At $75,000*

Not many. But I am sure a few fools will, 6 people bought an ELR last month, so there is hope. But what ever happened to the Camaro being the affordable sports car? -
Right, yet Chevy doesn't have a 4 cylinder rear wheel drive car. The Camaro is getting ever more expensive, who knows if the Mustang will jump in price. This Kia could be a nice alternative to the Toyota GT86 (which is what it should be called, not Scion FRS).

Sales: Sales Figure Ticker: December 2013
smk4565 replied to William Maley's topic in 2013 Sales Archive
No minivan and an uncompetitive Malibu hurt a lot. GM misses in key family segments, and they basically always have. They do well on SUVs, but need to focus on some core models. Cadillac has got a couple new cars, but they can't compete with Lexus or the Germans on volume, and Ford right now is beating Chevy in just about every segment except Impala vs Taurus.- 2 replies

315 hp sent to the rear wheels has me intrigued. I am interested to see what it looks like at least. In a world where 9 out of 10 new cars are FWD sedans with a 4 cylinder it is nice to see a RWD sports car every once in a while.

That is just too much money for a Camaro. That is Corvette Z06 money. -
Audi News: Audi Investing $30.3 Billion Through 2018
smk4565 replied to William Maley's topic in Volkswagen
There was rumor that the A8 would be RWD in the next generation around 2017. I feel like Audi is the German Acura, at the end of the day it is still a VW with AWD, much like an Acura is an AWD Honda. -
They could build it, but would it sell? GM builds a business case for everything, I think they have to see sales of the CTS-V and ATS-V before they can think about a V black series. Plus all the Black Series AMG cars have been 2 doors, Cadillac doesn't really have any sports cars right now.

Maybe the old one, but I doubt the new one, the new XJ looks sweet.

Audi News: Audi Investing $30.3 Billion Through 2018
smk4565 replied to William Maley's topic in Volkswagen
Maybe they will make a RWD platform; they had previously stated the A8 needed a new chassis and a redo to compete with the S-class, and that was before the 2014 S-class even came out. My guess is electric cars in a big part of that, maybe a diesel-electric hybrid powertrain. Audi Q1 or A1 could be in there, and the usual updates to existing models. It sounds like a lot of money until you think that is over 5 years, so $6 billion a year. Mercedes spends that much a year anyway. -
On Top Gear they once read the warning letter that comes with the CLK Black Series, it was rather funny and basically said never drive the car on wet roads or with traction control off. Some of the Black series cars have carbon fiber drive shafts and carbon fiber body kits, so it is more about weight savings and aero kits, and some increase in power, plus the suspensions are super stiff. You have to wonder if there is a marker for Cadillac to do this. They only have 2 V-series products in 2015 model year with the ATS and CTS, and they are both sedans, they aren't track cars. If a CTS is going to $70,000 now, you are probably looking at $90,000 for a CTS-V, a car above that could be in the $115k range and does anyone want to pay $115k for a CTS? Plus the suspension would probably be stiffer than a Corvette Z06 and the rear seat possibly deleted to save weight, it just doesn't seem like a Cadillac sort of thing to do.

The Volkswagen CC is the surprise on the list. Electric cars lose value quickly, as do high dollar luxury cars that the masses buying a used car are going to be afraid of, and the wealthy will just buy a new one. I am surprised the Volt isn't on there, I have seen 2012 Volts under $25k, from $40k new, that is retaining about 60% after 2 years.
