  1. Don't know who made it, but...
  2. My old Millenia. On three separate occasions in two days. I was surprised.
  3. I don't have the money for anything listed here.
  4. Here's another, slightly more expensive example. 1991 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser
  5. I really do want it, but I'm too tight on money at the moment. It would have made a great winter beater... *sigh*
  6. I may or may not want this... And I may or may not be serious.
  7. I applaud your purchase.
  8. 2013 Chevrolet Colorado Spied! August 27, 2011 Cory Wolfe - CheersandGears.com Over in Thailand, a Colorado enthusiast discovered a completely undisguised 2013 Chevrolet Colorado sitting in a parking lot. What you see is spec'd for various Asian markets, but is the first look at a production ready variant of the concept shown earlier this year. For the most part, the design remains in tact, save for a slightly toned down look, as expected. More photos below, original photos by following the link below. Source: BBZnet Forums
  9. Before I wrecked it, my Jetta was as trouble free as possible. Beyond basic maintenance, I never had to worry about anything with it. I would still call it my most reliable car thus far. Now, my Golf was another story, but I blame that more on the life it lived before my ownership. I ended up dumping too much money into things it didn't really need and soon enough, it wasn't worth putting more money into it for the things it did need.
  10. No, there is a difference. Mercedes had the A-class and B-class that if sold here would be in the $20-30,000 range, basically being a luxury alternative to a Focus or Civic. BMW and Mercedes don't use that sort of platform on their $35,000+ cars, they use purpose built RWD platforms. This is where Acura, Lincoln, and some Lexus and Cadillac models fail. They want to use a platform and powertrain from a $25-30,000 sedan on a $50,000 luxury car. The Ford Fusion isn't made for 150 mph autobahn cruising or tearing up corners on the Nurburgring, nor should it be, that isn't its job. But when you turn that into a Lincoln and compare it to a Mercedes, that shortcoming is going to show up. One of Lexus's top engineers was recently interviewed about the GS, and how Lexus took the current GS to Germany to compare to an E-class and 5-series. Lexus's own engineer admitted that at 115 mph the GS350 didn't feel stable and he was confident in driving any faster than that, and he said that their chassis was not as good and not as stiff as the Mercedes. Cadillac wants to compete with the Germans, yet the CTS and ATS are the only cars even on the right track. The SRX, XTS, ELR, Escalade are not built for performance, they are built to the same standard as Chevrolets and Buicks. Lincoln, Acura, Lexus ES350, RX350 are all in the same boat. And some of those cars sell well, because some people don't care about performance and engineering. However none of those vehicles are the global standard. Perhaps you missed the part about BMW building a FWD platform. Wait, did you get that? FWD. The entry level 'ultimate driving machine' will be a FWD compact. Apparently, BMW missed your memo.
  11. Autoblog: BMW Confirms Plans for Front Wheel Drive Models Inside Line: BMW Front Wheel Drive Prototype Spied Apparently, the i3 is different from those and will be rear-engine, RWD like the Smart fourtwo...the i3 is evolution of the MegaCity concept. From what I've read, the FWD models will be the next gen 1 series 4drs and hatches (and maybe a 0 series below those), while the 2 series coupe and cabrio will be RWD. Sounds like between the i sub-brand, the '0' series, the splitting of the 1 series into 1 and 2, BMW will be adding at least 1/2 dozen or more models in the next few years....and MB will probably add 1/2 dozen or more, filling in the various gaps and creating new niches (how about 2dr coupe CUVs? Yes, but this isn't about i3. This is about SMK's comments regarding a FWD platform built for $20-$30k cars that disallows Cadillac to compete with the Germans... Yet, there's BMW, readying FWD for the masses in that exact price range.
  12. Indeed, it looks fairly nice for the price.
  13. Funny... This diesel will probably not only be the most economical Cruze, it'll probably handily out-perform the others. Perhaps Chevy should just embrace that fully and give it a few performance upgrades elsewhere.

  16. Yeah, definitely Pontiac.
  17. My dealer got a few in... Basically, if you couldn't already tell, it has the 'SS' fascias front and rear. Specifically, the rear now has the shapelier exhaust cutouts along with the chrome strip now being body color. The interior has a new two tone were everything is black, yet the seats are taupe. Also, the color of the mesh grill varies by trim... LTZ gets black, while the lesser trims make due with silver.
  18. Tucker Torpedo would make a pretty good choice as a single holy grail...
  19. My holy grail does not lie within a single vehicle, but rather a collection of vehicles amounting to roughly 1000 or so. One day... one day...
  20. I'm not sure if you do this by accident, but you always managed to post in one make's previous month sales. For Hyundai's July sales click here.

  23. <center>Mitsubishi Sales Increase for Eleventh Straight Month</center> <table summary="photo" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="208"><tbody><tr><td align="center"> </td></tr></tbody></table> CYPRESS, CA--Aug. 2, 2011 -- Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) today reported July 2011 sales of 7,972 units, an increase of 41.1 percent compared to the same month in 2010. The increase continues a sales surge that, for the first seven months of 2011, makes Mitsubishi the fastest growing automaker in the United States. "We are particularly pleased with the performance of the Outlander Sport small CUV," said MMNA President & CEO Yoichi Yokozawa. "July was the biggest sales month ever for Outlander Sport, so consumers continue to be drawn to its fuel-efficiency and performance." MMNA sold 1,571 Outlander Sports in July, more than 12 percent higher than the vehicle's previous high sales month (April 2011). This marks MMNA's highest July sales total since 2008 and the eleventh consecutive month that the company has achieved a year-over-year sales increase. Year-to date sales are up 62.1 percent. "There's a lot for our dealers and our customers to be excited about for the rest of the summer," Yokozawa said. "For example, we're in the middle of our 'Own Every Road' Sales Event that ties into our groundbreaking 'World's Most Dangerous Road' Outlander Family Campaign." Eclipse sales increased more than 95 percent in July, and are up more than 78 percent year to date. The iconic sports car is nearing the end of a long production run as the final car comes off the assembly line in Normal, Illinois, this month and will be auctioned off for charity in September. "Also, we're less than 4 months from the arrival of our 100% electric Mitsubishi "i" vehicle," Yokozawa added. Other Mitsubishi sales numbers include: Sales of Mitsubishi cars were up 9 percent in July and are up 37 percent year-to-date. Sales of Mitsubishi SUVs and CUVs were up 117 percent in July and are up 119 percent year-to-date. Sales of products assembled at MMNA's U.S. facility in Normal, Illinois, were up 108 percent in July and are up 114 percent year to date. Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc., (MMNA) is responsible for all manufacturing, finance, sales, and marketing operations for Mitsubishi Motors in the United States. MMNA sells cars and light trucks through a network of approximately 400 dealers.
