Agreed with the vinyl suggestion if it can be found. I wish it were found more often today. And the 4.3l is respectably powerful enough and dead stupid easy to find parts for.

I put ergonomics and familiarity over how the back of the rearview feels. For me, the Malibu's easy-use radio and HVAC controls even it out and the dual-cowl coolness with thoughtful wood trimming wins it.

One prank I haven't tried is - after accidently damaging someone's car - leaving a note saying I'll pay for all the damages...with a friend's name and number.

Because its not even trying to offer gear hold, that's the point. GM is not advertising it as manual control (if they did, full agreement from me), in fact, GM is not advertising it as anything at all. That's what TAPshift is being advertised as and it does offer full range gear hold.

Even if your anecdotal evidence was fact for all AURAs, you assume zero progress has been made between that car and the Malibu. I am willing to say progress had been made. We'll see. Accord, debatable. I prefer the Malibu's style and the proven ease-of-use (to me) of the controls. However, the Camry? Well, maybe you enjoy looking at a huge hazard button, ugly rectangular HVAC vent cutlines, and flat and dull plastimetal, but I don't. I would also be especially irritated to have to stare at the same Timex clock radio I woke up to only to find out that, unlike the Timex, the clock isn't clearly legible - I have to look a foot up the dash through a pillbox gunner's slit to discern when I am.

As I said the intention of that +/- rocker button (or whatever) in the Enclave's application is to substitute for a full range of gear selections because its impractical to have P R N D 5 4 3 2 1 laid out on the console or dash. It works just like a normal non-gated automatic in that it allows you to limit upshifting not hold the transmission in gear. Another example - all V6 Saturn VUEs have a side-mounted +/- button, but only on XRs and RLs equipped with TAPshift do they hold gearing. In the others, it just electronically 'moves' the gear selector as you would in any other automatic. Confusing? Absolutely, especially if they're in the same vehicle utilitzing the same control. Ask a Saturn salesman to explain that nuance. But that's how it is. TAPshift is GM offering consumers to ability to electronically shift transmissions as if it were a manumatic.

What exactly do you expect? 2 - Clearly you choose to ignore the many positive comments left in the Journey thread about what a credible effort that car is. 3 - Did I say dumb? No, I alluded to the fact that the whole Dodge credo as of late is ultra masculinity. If it were a person, it would be a wrestler on steroids and that has mixed effects - it sets a pretty high standard that some cars frankly don't fulfill. The same could be said of many Pontiacs as well and also that Ford has few performance cars at all.

By ELENA LESLEY, Times Staff Writer Published August 27, 2007 CLEARWATER - Professional wrestling star Hulk Hogan's son and another young man were seriously injured in a car crash Sunday evening in Clearwater. Driver Nick Bollea, 17, also known as Nick Hogan, and a passenger had to be extracted from the crumpled Toyota Celica Supra. Officials said both were taken by air to Bayfront Medical Center, where the passenger was reported in critical condition. Family members gathered at the hospital late Sunday, but reporters were kept at a distance. Nick Bollea's injuries were not immediately described, but Wayne Shelor, Clearwater Police Department spokesman, said he was less seriously injured than his passenger. The bright yellow car was traveling eastbound on Court Street about 7:30 p.m. when it hit the median, Shelor said. Dennis Balila, who was in the yard of a nearby apartment complex, said he heard a loud screech and then saw the car flying backward. Bollea's car skidded about 25 yards, spun around and crashed, trunk-first into a median palm tree, Shelor said. Hulk Hogan arrived on the scene flanked by three Clearwater police officers, Balila said. For about 30 minutes, he went back and forth between the car and ambulance as the two young men were cut free, Balila said. A Tampa Robinson High School graduate, Hulk Hogan moved into a 17,000-square-foot Belleair mansion with his family in 1996. Their faces became familiar at Tampa Bay area events.
