  1. Silver can look very good to very drab depending on the paint and car. GM's Galaxy Silver Metallic looks good on so many vehicles.
  2. Absolutely beautiful. A standout even today... ...especially the custom convertibles... Really, stack the headlamps and put LEDs in the taillamps and chisel the body up a bit, and you have a car whose design could fit perfectly with the Art & Science theme, even if the basic look dates back to 1992. Timeless.
  3. Z's right. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I sat by and watched a C&G friend be eviscerated of all good taste and class by taking the wheel of a VW Cabrio...especially that bodystyle of Cabrio. The only acceptable reasons for a male driving a Cabrio are: 1) I work for a VW dealership/service department/garage. 2) I'm taking my wife/girlfriend/female relative's car to the shop for her. 3) My car is broken down and its 3am on a Sunday Christmas Day 350 miles north of Anchorage, Alaska and there are no other cars, trucks, vans, wagons, horse-drawn wagons, motorcycles, bicycles, unicycles, aircraft, boats, sled dogs, or pair of skis in sight and this is the absolute only car I could find...and an arctic wolf stole my shoes...and I think I have frostbite. Even if one happens to be gay, that's no reason. I would hope everyone on Earth has some sort of taste and self respect.

  5. Only about eight copies are on every single showroom and service lounge coffee table at every GM dealership from here to Taipei.
  6. Actually, most people I've seen/know who own newer or classic Corvettes drive them very well - always signaling, following at a proper distance, and never speeding unless the road is clear of traffic and relatively fuzz-free. They like crusing, not paying even higher insurance premiums. Its the idiots who buy the fourth-hand C4 'Vettes with 150k on the clock that drive like total shit, weaving in and out of traffic, doing neutral drops at stoplights to impress the underage high school chicks, and ending up as chunks of fiberglass strewn across a parking lot after doing donuts and running into a light pole.
  7. If Motor Trend, et al were around at the turn-of-the-century, Buick would've been pronounced DOA for having dropped in sales a full 100% for the '01 model year.
  8. That's a silly question. Of course not; $30,000-50,000 BMWs have cheap plastic molding and bumpers, not $14,000 Toyotas.
  9. Uh...only about a month and a half ago in the SEMA Concept Forum... SEMA Page
  10. Woop-de-do. For $520,000, I can go 330mph in a straight line in one of these... ...and take three of my friends at a rough rate of 14mpg. Match that, useless supercars!
  11. Do they end reviews of the Accord and Solara coupes with the same 'Why not get a Mustang?' line? If not, then they need to get lives.
  12. They should counted B-P-GMC as one division. Tally up all the sales. Why not? Toyota lies about the 'Corolla' Matrix every single month. What's the difference?
  13. I think Forbes simply looked at the cheapest, least-equipped models without added safety features to arrive at this list. Safety is more than crash protection; its crash avoidance, which includes braking, acceleration, handling characteristics, traction/stability control devices, and inherent stability. These are aspects glaringly and even self-admittedly omitted in this Forbes regugitation of IIHS ranking, which can be readily (and more accurately) be found on the IIHS website. The automotive section of Forbes.com is apparently edited by Dan Lienart, which explains its inherent flaws and inaccuracy (Lienart is as Lienart does). Whatever he is, its crystal that by this and other 'features' on Forbes that he just likes playing with big boy toys instead of really putting thought and logic into reviewing cars. P.S. Hey, Forbes, fix your fucking overloaded, bogged down website. God...
  14. I like the 'Caprice SS' station wagon. Lame I also like the Mercedes-GMC Sierra '300SL.' Lame. I really like the "If You Can't DODGE It...RAM It!" It probably wouldn't be so lame if weren't on a PLYMOUTH BREEZE. My favorite is apparently the only M3 ever that looks exactly like a 318i.

    GM vs Toyota

With pickups, the mythical appeal of 8 is even stronger than it is in cars and is something I suppose Honda/Acura will learn one day. I say that with all sincerity.
  16. If you're buying a car with the intention on keeping it for a long, long time, 0% is the way to go. Our Bonneville is a few months from payoff - that's five years at 0% interest. Worked out for us.
  17. Put that voiceover with a CG running from the engine compartment with a revving Northstar V8 to the eerie silence of the cabin interior then back outside to the sound of its dual exhaust burbling with the shot centered on the Tri-Shield on the decklid...then the Lucerne accelerating away with the now-CG Tri-Shield rotating, glimmering, with BUICK above and BEYOND PRECISION below. Meet me in an hour, Oldsmoboi; we'll go to RenCen with this.
  18. You know where I am. Here. And on AIM at the link in my profile. Feel free, sir.
  19. Well, Balthazar, I know you got your wish with the Phaeton. :P
  20. The center stack looks like crap. The wood should extend up and over the radio bezel for a complete surround and can we have something besides pea-green for the backlighting? And find a fucking decent digital clock, Korea.
  21. Power retract or integrated. Those little whip antennas look so, so dorky, almost as bad as a long whip antenna. But the worst today has to be the 500/Montego - mounted on the right side of the cowl. God, that looks cheap.
  22. So, did you castrate yourself before or after you bought a Solara?
  23. Alfa without question. An updated Holden Ute would be nice as well, just for Camino. The vast majority of what the rest of the world has that we don't they can keep.
  24. The 2.7 is indeed a gutless mill.
  25. I can answer that: whoop-de-doo. Far more trouble than its worth. I'd spend the effort making a '99 Riviera convertible instead.
