Whoever put the Honda billboard on N Dale Mabry Blvd in Tampa by the stadium, you need to fix your f**king transmitter unless the conversation between your box and the crab is supposed to sound like Tejano music mixed with static.

The initital cost of entry is only offset by fuel savings if you 1)drive the car well beyond the time most people keep a car or 2)gas prices skyrocket very high very soon. Most hybrids out there are more about added performance than fuel economy, as exemplified by the Lexus and Highlander hybrids. As a car, the Prius itself isn't that great of one. It doesn't ride that well and handling is less than optimum by all accounts.

Are you talking about folddown rear seats? The J30 lacks those. Fuel tank placement, a la GTO.

Dude, its compact sport with luxury with law enforcement!

Sketch Competition #3 -GM 'People Mover'
Flybrian replied to Flybrian's topic in Sketch Competitions
Nice job so far, guys! Good to see some creativity out there! Deadline will officially be Monday, April 2, 2006 @ 11:59EST -
A little old? Try about a decade. Idiots. Expensive sibling? Try crappy rebadge. Fools. $73,000? Try a Range Rover. Schmucks.
-
Oh no she didn'...
-
Too bad half of them are thoroughly riced. They're cute lil' things indeed. Fits perfectly in my lower air baffle.

I know someone who has a J30. His previous car was a Geo Metro 3-door, so a grocery cart would be an improvement. Regardless, it seemed to be a decent car, yet with a truly compact feel inside and a very tiny trunk for its size.
-
The problem I see in bringing the BLS stateside is that it'll sell because its simply a cheap Cadillac and we all know the kind that type of car attracts - landau tops and vogue wheels. As it is, as said, a fine car...for foreigners.
-
The new Aveo looks alot better inside and of course outside. The Yaris hatch looks like a large head on wheels.
-
Wrong again. It competes with other entry-lux cars in price and does so here successfully because we really have no interest in displacement or size in the United States. Check the facts.CTS vs. 3er vs. 5er @ MSNCarpoint Dimensionally, its a 5-Series competitior. Its over a foot longer than a 3-Series sedan!

I got irritated at people constantly calling everything a valiant attempt at an entry-level luxury car, you included. "Catera? Just like the valiant attempt at an entry-level luxury car." "BLS? Uh, how 'bout valiant attempt at an entry-level luxury car?" "That Acura sucks...but it at least it ain't no valiant attempt at an entry-level luxury car." "A minivan for GMC? Makes as much sense as the valiant attempt at an entry-level luxury car." "Dag, yo. Even all dressed up she looks bad. What a valiant attempt at an entry-level luxury car." The valiant attempt at an entry-level luxury car existed between 1982 and 1988. Nothing else is a valiant attempt at an entry-level luxury car. And by 1988, it wasn't a bad little car, especially with a 5-speed and the V6.

Engine was shared, not platform. You mentioned the Cobalt shared alot with Opel, which is doesn't aside from the engine. Engine commonalities don't make cars twins. And even if they did, you comparison makes no sense. You know what, that's fine. That's all your opinion and allrighty then. But the rest makes absolutely no sense. I think the car is fine for Europe. Its compact, has that Euro-flavored interior, plus possible diesel availability. It'll do fine.

Hey, leave the delSlow alone. She could've gotten a Scion.
-
No. NA Delta is not shared with anything Opel. Check the facts. Cavalier was a compact economy car occupying below-middle rung status in Chevy's lineup. Epsilon is a midsize family car, with the 9-3 occupying an entry-luxury position in the market. So does the BLS. Check the facts. Cadillac's 1982 FWD lineup consisted of the valiant attempt at an entry-level luxury car, Eldorado, and Seville. RWD entires included the Fleetwood, Fleetwood Brougham, Coupe and Sedan DeVilles, all of which made up a higher percentage of sales (136k vs. 96k) for the '82 model year, so hardly "primarily" as you claim. Check the facts. That line alone invalidates your whole argument. All conjecture and personal sentiment with a total lack of fact. I did. And I checked the facts. So should you. At last! We agree!

The fact that it unintentionally shares front fascia cues with the Avalon bothers me. But besides that, not bad. And Sixty8, to serious attempt to liken this to the valiant attempt at an entry-level luxury car shows a lack of reason.

Quite a few of those names are also sourced from preceeding cars, and that's interesting as well. LaCrosse comes from the 2000 concept which featured a small power retracting pickup-style bed in the rear. LaCrosse indicates its sporty, active nature and is also a play on crossover as the concept was a mix of sedan and utility vehicle. Rendezvous also refers to the vehicle itself being a joining or meeting or rendezvous of a sedan, SUV, and minivan. Terraza is Spanish for 'terrace.' G6 is Pontiac's lame attempt at devising a series name a la BMW. It could mean literally five or six things. SV6 - Sport Van, 6-cylinders Town & Country was the name carried by classic Chrysler station wagons in the 1940s-60s famous for their wood paneling. Here's one: Oldsmobile Toronado - No meaning. Sounds awesome, though.

Finally out? Can we put it back in? I like the "race-inspired SE." I guess if Pontiac can throw assloads of cladding on its cars, Toyota can too

Pardon me for a second. First of all, the vast majority of what we and every other site out there does is a form of 'armchair CEOing' with the differences lying in the amount of actual, factual information each of us are privy to. As long as one isn't trying to falsely pass it off as fact, there is no problem with it. When that line is crossed and speculation is branded as truth, that is a problem. Most of us know we had a problem with that. Retractions were written, apologies were made, and Josh stepped down because of that. All that still stands. Second, - both of you - to duke it out with another member for whatever personal reasons is one thing (and really shouldn't even be here on the board), but to insult the site as a whole is another. Sorry, but the fact of the matter is no one person is this website. I am in charge of it as a whole, Z28 is the webmaster, Variance is in charge of news, Northie is in charge of concepts, and a whole bunch of others in the administration and membership make this place what it is. That said, and insult to the site is an insult to all of us. Alot of work goes into this place, much more than many of you see. I know for a fact Z has spent countless nights on this upgrade, Camino on the special design projects, and I myself on regular updates. So, if you want to cast aspersions on C&G because of your personal opinion about one member, you can take it somewhere else. Its not appreciated by any of the dedicated people who work on this place as a pure passion. You can pick and choose who this is directed to. If you read that and feel offended, then you're likely one of those causing it. Turbo is right. Deftones is right. And the childishness on >>>all<<< sides needs to stop. I really wish we could all just get along again...

Ditto here. Hey, if I like it, its a lock. j/k

Just as on the Z4, the non-matching cutlines on the bottom of the doorsill look bad.

I don't think we're talking about Challenger levels of retro here. I believe a nice injection of some traditonal American design cues with a distinctly modern twist both inside and out would be a welcome change from the competant albeit unexciting Impala we have with us today.
