  1. But, if you think about it, a broken hybrid saves a lot of gas.
  2. And yet, my car has this... ...a dead space between the radiator housing and bumper cover so large and deep I actually drove to Orlando and back (~300 miles) with two rags, a detail brush, and a small bottle of glass cleaner inside.
  3. For this one, while you are allowed to enter just one of each, again remember that voters are encouraged to take into account all views of any one entry and you're always encouraged to do more.
  4. Heh. Like I said in the PM, you and my father. Probably the only two in the country who still want the sportside. Honestly, seeing a few more shortbed/single cab GM trucks with it and contrasting it with just how horrible the Tundra sportside looks, I'm liking it alot more myself.
  5. The problem I have with the style of digital clock used in the Camry is not that its seperate or even that its an LCD, but that it looks like it came from a VCR, cable box, travel clock, or a 50 cent vending machine watch. Plus, its not an easily-legible size either, especially when its positioned that far up on the dash.
  6. Turbo, in all honesty, take away the Optitron lighting and the Camry's gauges are no better than the Impala's. The presentation is bland, flat, two-dimensional with two-colors. Very boring. The only thing saving it are, in fact, that lighting. How come certain other Toyota/Lexus products can combine both Optitron and better layout presentations? I'm also not defending the Impala's gauges. However, there is no question that it is also laid out simply, with large, easy-to-read digits, but the presentation is lacking. The cluster on the Impala SS has alot more jazz... Also, check out the Hybrid Camry's cluster. The above looks crap in comparison. To both manufacturers, why cheap out?
  7. This is actually a great idea for advertising and emergency vehicles (i.e. a squad car with alternating blue and red) to increase visibility. That's sad to tell a chick to call you via your rims.
  8. Remember when GM had the Lumina APV and then the Venture with the Astro van in the Chevrolet Truck brochure?
  9. Maybe if you get your head out of the Other Guys section now and then, you'll see people constantly do. Favorites as of late have been the Monte Carlo, Lucerne, and Escalade center stack without navigation. GM's Biggest Fans and Toughest Critics, not People Who Just Don't Like GM. Scion's existance proves otherwise, as do the failed Genesis vehicles (MR2, Celica, Echo). Toyota couldn't shake their ultrabland, aged vibe, so they had to spin-off a youth-oriented division. Even Toyota's 'young' models like the Corolla and Matrix sell to a decidedly mixed demographic. Look yourself who drives Toyota. The Tacoma is just about the only Toyota-branded offering that sells to younger folks.

  11. Are you Sixty8? Then no.
  12. Welcome to Choppin' Competition #16! Your task this time is to take any current General Motors product and alter in any fashion you'd like to make it foolish. What's foolish, you ask? Anything. An Avalanche with 10 doors...an offroad Lucerne...the Aztek. Kidding about the last one, for its not a current product. The only rules aside from 800x600 size guidelines are that it must be a 2006 or 2007 model year General Motors vehicle. The winner will recieve the prize of a GM divison keychain! Remember, the crazier the better! Good luck! Deadline is Friday, March 31st @ 11:59PM.

  14. Only if those 'mods' include adding two feet to the hood, two feet to the tail, redoing the front fascia, putting the gauge cluster in front of the driver where it belongs, and putting in a decent engine. Sorry, I feel none of what you do. Its in no way a performance or sports car like a MINI, just slow and to me driving a slow car fast is like being the smartest retard. I have aboslutely no love for subcompacts and never, ever want anything to do with them. I don't ever see myself owning a car smaller than an Alero/Contour/Jetta in size and preferrably not even renting one either. I figure I live in a huge country with big skies, tall mountains, wide beaches, and long roads, so a large car is the only appropriate choice. As for fuel economy concerns, if I can squeeze 26-30mpg city/hwy out of a 3.1l Impala base rental, that's good enough for me.
  15. Actually, in retrospect, I find it hillarious that this thread went along for about three and a half pages of all types of people commenting on the Camry for better or worse without anyone ever actually saying "...and the Impala/Malibu looks better inside" until Toyoguy decided to make such a comparison and then chastise people for responding to it. Ironic, eh?

Interesting, but very unattractive. Both of them. Those doors need to go back on the 1997 LR Discovery from whence it came.
  17. Speaking of which, there's a brand-new 2005 GTO 6.0l automatic at the local B-P-GMC lot with $28,560 on the windshield.
  18. Welcome to Cheers and Gears and congratulations on a wonderful sedan! Crimson Metallic is perhaps by favorite GM color. There may very well be a Lucerne in our driveway in the coming years. Also, if you're interested in writing up a nice review of your car, please feel free and we'll add your Buick to our 'long-term fleet' for reviews!
  19. Wow. Let's hope not. For all the fire the NSX drew re: its cost, powertrain, etc, it was a very attractive and unique car. This is not.
  20. We'd like you to have at least two different views of your concept, something like a 3/4 front shot, rear shot, other angles, or an interior. How much you do is up to you, but again, your entry will be judged on its own merits, so the more 'views' the better. If an extra day or so is needed, we can work that out.

That's the X6? Doesn't look very coupey to me.
  22. This is lame on both sides.
  23. I like how your last response contridicts itself. What is subjective is what you personally deem subjective.
  24. Yes, and having it vary according the vehicle is a nuance GMC can exploit. For example, a current black GMC Sierra regular bed pickup truck with chrome wheels and factory chrome moldings is shockingly upscale from the outside, especially compared to the goofy and overwrought Ram, Titan, and new Tundra. Reminds me of a tough mafia hood in a tailored suit versus some of these over-bulked athletes that try to dress up. That's the kind of look GMC should provide - tough, yet elegant.
  25. Well, good news for GMTruckGuy...sportside still exists! Also, CTS gets color Wreath & Creasts on the wheels for '07 and some colors. CTS-V gets 'extended mobility' (run-flat) tires.
