  1. If concepts are generally cooler than production, does that make the Veyron the coolest production car in the world?
  2. The exterior looks rather cheap... the proportions are too econo-ute, almost Outlandery. I like the interior, though, and the engine, along with the one in the new Mazda SUV, sounds promising.
  3. It's kinda like a CVT in the sense that there many, widespread ratios, minus that golf cart feel. Wonder if it can do 1200 rpm at 65 MPH...
  4. I wonder if it gets the Escalade's materials, which would be a nice differentiator.
  5. I kinda get the G6's proportions... I think Pontiac were aiming for a mid-engined Lambo look with the big front overhang, short rear overhang, proximity of the front doors to the front wheels, and forward-sloping greenhouse. The G6 sedan looks more balanced, IMO. The coupe is too fat and long in the middle.
  6. I'm not exactly a Toyota fan, but I have to admit, this looks like a class-leading car again. The SE looks sporty enough, and the XLE is nice in a conservative, American-Toyota sort of way. I didn't like the interior from the spy shots, and I still don't like the SE's center stack, but the XLE's is actually quite nice. I like how the "legs" of the upper dash drop down seamlessly to meet the console. It's almost arty.
  7. I generally like the interior design, but continue to find the exterior sheetmetal shaping too last-gen Mustang.
  8. When I first saw it, I dismissed it as a G35 refresh, too. But now that I've studied it, it seems like Nissan are much more devoted to their brand's philosophy of design, as opposed to L-Finesse, in which Lexus just glues together certain elements -- grille, headlights, taillights, side sheetmetal sculpting -- of what apparently defines a Lexus.
  9. I've noticed that, for some people, buying a Lexus is a bit of a reverse snobbery thing. They're "too good" to simply buy from an institution like BMW or Mercedes, so they'd rather "defer from the pack" (even though that's the exact opposite of what they're actually doing) and buy a non-European car.
  10. Actually, they had a parchment silver '07 Tahoe open.

    Sharks

Depends on the beach. I'm fine with all the highly trafficked, lifeguarded ones here, but yes, I'd be abso-F*C*I*G-lutely scared in the middle of the Atlantic.
  12. Nice review... I went Friday, too, and will post my thoughts when I have time.

    Cien

I wonder if you can make a kit car Cien... from a Gallardo. They've pretty much got the same proportions.
  14. Reminds me of the LR Defender. The engineering upgrades seem worthy.
  15. It looks horrible right now, but maybe it's one of those designs that you have to learn to appreciate. I'll check back tomorrow and see if I like it more. Definitely not bland, that's for sure.
  16. I think it looks amazing... it'll be serious competition to the Cubist X3.

    2007 Sentra

I think it looks great... much better than their bland Versa or Toyota's Corolla. The interior looks very pleasing, too.
  18. Unlikely if the VUE Green Line costs $23K. Manual VUE 2.2 starts at under $18K.
  19. I hate to bring this up... but is it only me, or does it look like a minivan in some pics? I wonder if a SWB 5-passenger version will be available.
  20. Highway MPG... Escape Hybrid gets 31 MPG.
  21. After staring at it for a long time, I think I get how it looks.
  22. Real-world pics look much, much better. However, the paint is the color of someone who got their suntan in a bottle; hopefully that's not indicative of the sort of buyer it'll attract. And those chrome wheels, too. (Oops, I pulled a James May there...)
