    Camry hybrid priced

Damn it... essentially, this is a full-hybrid system at the price of GM's BAS system. It's priced about the same as a V6 Camry, is a bit slower, but a lot more fuel efficient.
  2. Perhaps it's because GM crashed the SS Impala, which has larger wheels (less tire deformation; more intrusion) and a larger engine. Remember the W-body wasn't originally engineered to accommodate a small-block V8.
  3. Meh... the only colors that don't make the C6 look plasticky are blue or silver. Chevy should really make an effort to increase color selections... a blue-granite or mineral silver color would be excellent. At least it's better than the XLR-V -- a $100K car with THREE color choices.
  4. Three '07 Camries... one was a black SE... looked really, really good, IMO.

    Cooking with Croc

My mom makes really good meatballs... I don't remember the exact recipe with all the measurements and stuff, but this is what she does: Hand "ground" flank steak and pork with the dull side of the knife. This prevents it from being all crumbly and Taco Bell-ish. Marinate it with soy sauce, corn starch, oil, sugar, and white pepper. Add chopped basil, garlic, freshly grated Parmesan, bread (any baguette, soaked in milk, squeezed, and crumbled), cooked spinach (optional, the frozen stuff from Trader Joes is fine), and eggs into the meat. Mix and roll into large-sized balls. Stuff a chunk of fresh mozzarella into each ball; it will melt and become really gooey and nice when you bite into it. Coat the meatballs with breadcrumbs and "fry" them in a skillet with some olive oil. This will make the crust. Pour tomato sauce (canned tomato sauce; Sriracha hot sauce; processed, pre-made "pasta sauce") all over the meatballs, and let simmer. Serve with pasta and garnish with more basil leaves. Mmm, it makes me hungry just thinking this over...

    Cooking with Croc

Linguini with clam sauce... it's very easy and very good. Pour some olive oil into a hot skillet, throw in lots of minced garlic, and then chopped, canned clams. Let it sizzle for a sec, and add crushed red pepper flakes, coarse salt, and some torn basil leaves. Mix sauce with cooked linguini, and you're done.
  7. Saw one today... with a few changes, it'd make a great Buick, IMO.
  8. Okay then... replace it with "...similarly".
  9. Well, they say it'll allow more side and rear crashes, since nearly all cars get "good" frontal ratings now.
  10. Oh, if that's what you mean, the $39K LR3 would satisfy the "good slow walk-around" test as well.
  11. Probably; the second gen models ('95-'02) were as luxurious and sophisticated as a Ford Exploder, and they were inherently uncool.
  12. http://www.iihs.org/news/rss/pr033006.html Camry -- good Lucerne -- good Azera -- good Impala -- acceptable RAV4 -- good Pilot -- good Explorer -- good M-class - good Ram -- good Essentially they're handing over their frontal offset test to the automakers, while performing periodic audit tests (Lucerne).
  13. In all likelyhood, based on long-running reports, your garage will have an H1 but the Rover service department garage will have your RR. I fail to see how bottom of the barrel quality could ever be termed either sophisticated or magnificent. Guy I work for sometimes is a multi-millionaire. Buys a brand new Silverado 2500HD Duramax every year- loaded. You should see how he sneers at his brothers RR- not an ounce of envy there. I've walked around the RR- can't say I disagree -esp considering the price tag. Completely overhyped (at the curb, anyway). I would never waste my money on it. Which generation RR does he have? The '03-to-present ones have been very reliable.
  14. Enterprise has by far the most diverse fleet. While having our Bimmer serviced, we've gotten a Maxima, Avalon, S40, Sebring cabrio, Grand Am, Stratus, and X3, and I've seen Enterprise plate frames on Priuses, MINIs, HHRs, and Jettas.
  15. Them domestic bandwagon humpers... ugh. With regard to design and class, the Range Rover still shines. It has a degree of sophistication and elegance and cool not found in the Escalade, IMO.

    Camry hybrid priced

Quotes from M/T, 4/06: "Our nonscientific observations of the Accord and Camry's fuel consumption found the Toyota delivering an honest 40 mpg at a steady 70 mph and a squeak abouve 30 mpg in L.A. urban driving. The Honda, limited by its much smaller motor/generator and a less efficient five-speed automatic, indicated 34.5 mpg at 70 mph and mid-20s around town."
  17. Agreed... atmosphere can be subjective; quality and design are not. The Fusion's interior looks professional and first-tier, especially compared to the Sonata's homemade-looking one.
  18. Buying a 3-series wagon (particularly the last-gen one) is a good way of enjoying a BMW, without being hated for driving one. Because it's a wagon, you're telling the world you're practical and knowledgable, that you're not buying one just because it's the cheapest BMW they make..
  19. I have last month's C/D review of the Eclipse with me; the highs are "power top stows tidily, refined road manners, torquey and musical V-6." Their 330 did break down, but that doesn't speak for every other problem-free 3-series. Apart from long-term tets, reliability is beyond their scope, and it shouldn't be a factor for them, IMO. This goes both ways, too; they shouldn't outright praise Toyota reliability just because it's a Toyota. And, not that it matters, but actually the BMW is larger than both the Audi and Lexus inside; and performance numbers can only tell half the story. Actually, CR "recommends" the new Impala because of the past model's (excellent) reliability. Re: the CTS, if that's the case, it seems more like poor fact-checking and poor knowledge of the subject than intentional bias. Either way, errors like these hurt credibility, and CR should make a greater effort to explain such limitations and corrections to their readers. Nitpicking aside, all magazines with a consumer base need to be overhauled, IMO. As far as bias, it seems like most find it necessary to explain the historical-established-status-quo-background of the product before the actual driving/design characteristics, though personally, I think it's "a good thing" in a review. Many "suffer" more from inflated egos and eccentricities than agendas, and ultimately, it's up to the reader. I take everything with a grain of salt, but still enjoy the crudeness of C&D, the artfulness of Top Gear, etc..
  20. I'm a bit confused here... did they ever find the key? Or was the key "in another vehicle on the lot" something else? And, yes, I agree, VW dealers are horrible. Whenever the Passat needs servicing, we drive 11 miles to a Phaeton-approved dealer instead of the local POWER HYUNDAI-VW one.
  21. I honestly don't recall seeing a single non-fleet G6 this month. On the other hand, I saw two '07 Camries just today.
