  1. Nah... I live with a '98-'05 Passat everyday, and the '06+s are much, much better. I inspected an '06 "value edition" wagon a few weeks ago (wheel covers, leatherette, and all), and I still found it better than any other <$25K midsize interior. It's much more solidly assembled (less snap-fit) than our '02.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, Whoa, whoa. There's still plenty of meat on that bone! Now, yyou take that home; put it in a pot; add some broth and a potato...baby, you got a stew going!
  3. It's decent enough... I'm still unimpressed by the interior's design, but at least the quality flaws aren't catastrophically bad. It's fine for $20K.
  4. I like the DB9 Volante more myself, but this is definitely racier and less camp.
  5. I completely agree with Healey: the BAS system is hooked up to the wrong car. The Green Line is a decent choice if you insist on buying a VUE (I'd go for the cheaper, 250-hp V6 myself...), but as an overall package, there's nothing compelling about it, apart from the "hybrid" name. If AWD isn't even available, why not get a newer, cheaper, and more refined HHR? Or if you truly want an efficient car, what about the Vibe (30/36)?
  6. Their aeronautical puns are getting OLD.
  7. And awesome license plate lighting.
  8. I find this car appealing, even though I'm not much of Asian-car fan. The grille/hood opening is unique, the interior is rather nice, the size is just right, and it's loaded with stuff.
  9. Talk to me! Tell me you rname! You blow me off like it's all the ssame! You playing game and now you heading my heart dah dah dah something something! Yeah baby. She bang! She bang! Oh baby oh she move! She move! I go crazy be-cause she looks like a bee and sting like fly! Something something in history! SHE BANGS!
  10. It's going to fail. A BMW for the price of a Honda? How about a Honda for the price of a Honda first? Bricklin doesn't get "luxury" if he thinks it can be engineered and sold cheaply.

You've got it backwards. Developed countries make up 20% of the world's population but use 88% of the world's natural resources and generate 75% of the world's pollution and waste (6). (Miller, Tyler. Living in the Environment, 12th Edition. Belmont, CA: Wadsworth, 2002)

And don't forget the exponential human population growth and the increasing affluence of less-developed countries. If everybody had the ecological footprint of the average American, we'd need five planets just to get sufficient resources.
  13. Agreed. Miracles aside, the future of Toyota is far brighter than with GM.
  14. As you guys are throwing custard pies at one another... can I politely point out that the '98-'04 GS300 220-hp inline-six is completely unrelated to the '05-'06 GS300 245-hp V6?
  15. There are lies, damned lies, and statistics. I can easily find Cobalts averaging MPG in the 20s (Car and Driver observed, Edmunds long-term, fuel-economy.gov users, Motor Trend observed, Consumer Guide observed, CarSurvey, Autobytel, Epinions...) I'm sure the Versa can do 44 MPG in the same way a '94 Bonneville can do 32 MPG.
  16. Got a brand new Dell 3GHz Dimension something or other, and already it's too slow. There's a three to five second delay whenever I do ANYTHING.
  17. It's gorgeous... but I still prefer the little-black-dress-ness of the Brera. This is a bit too bulbous for me.
  18. Buuut it hayyyes fuel-savin' EMMM DEEE ESS tech-nahl-uhjee!
  19. I have a new favorite car... damn...
  20. I hope the Astra we get will have the IRS and upgraded interior, too. With those two upgrades, it'll definitely be competitive with the Rabbit/Golf.
