  1. Excellent news. But what's with the J-gate shifter?
  2. ... while having a Nissan and an Infiniti in the driveway.
  3. One complaint I have is that it has too much of Ford Europe's "kinetic desigN' theme. Scandinavian design should be clean, crisp, and modern. The bulgy fender flares are too much. I do like the interior and tailgate, though.
  4. Nissan North America is based in Nashville, Tennessee.
  5. SAAB should offer a $30K version for those who want a nicely-assembled Kappa.
  6. When can't they instruct dealers to drill drainage holes as part of the delivery process? Remove plastic wrap, remove spring blocks, drill hole... And those that are already sold... have them drill it next oil change.
  7. None of the enthusiast car magazines (C&D, M/T, R&T, Automobile) like trucks very much. Try something like Truck Trends or 4x4 Super Duper Wheeling or something.
  8. For a compact econobox, it looks fine. It's definitely racier than Corolla, Cobalt, or Civic. Edit: This thing's pretty huge, actually... it's longer than a 3-series!
  9. Mmmmmm... Top Gear GTI review. It's a good driving song.
  10. Great pics, bobo! The Aero-X wasn't there when I went Friday...

    PT Cruiser Cabriolet Turbo?
  12. They were innovative... but also sucked at modern industrial design. This and the Aztek both look like they were designed by an 8-year-old with a bag of felt tips. And I'm sure you know there were jumpseats (Montero), sliding rear seats ('99 Odyssey), flat-folding rear seats ('95 Odyssey), CVTs (Volvo 340), and compact vans (Opel Zafira) well before 2000. :AH-HA_wink:
  13. I bet none of them are Hondas or Toyotas. There's not a single current-gen Odyssey on eBay for under $20K buy-it-now. First-tier minivans are still highly sought after.
  14. One could always eBay the standard seats.

    Thoughts?

This is why focus groups never work. I guess you can't expect an artistic masterpiece for $75, but to the eyes of the average website viewer, it simply doesn't matter. It's fine as-is.
  16. What would GM have to do to meet US requirements? The Corsa already got a 5-star EuroNCAP rating... I'm assuming bumper length, gas tank placement, side reflectors, etc, are all US technicalities.
  17. As far as small cars go, both are huge guzzlers according to the EPA. Reducing the size to 1.6 or 1.8 (while keeping similar power) would help.
  18. I was doing some research on OnStar, after reading about the James Kim tragedy, and it turns out even if he had an OnStar-equipped SAAB (he had a 9-2X) it wouldn't have worked. Sending an SOS signal requires a cellular network... the GPS only pinpoints the car.
  19. Personally I prefer the CV8-Zs...

Would an American-owned brand be considered "domestic"?
