  1. Ford. Taurus. X. Eddie Bauer. You've gotta be kidding me. Why would anyone choose this over the stylish Fairlane?
  2. Even that is hideous. It's like they're trying to be creative and artistic through luck alone. It's like trying to create a Picasso painting without an actual concept behind it.
  3. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww... There's not one single line, shape, or angle that I find attractive on either the Highlander or the xD. The xB is okay... it's kinda funky.
  4. I'm liking the updated logo. I hope the leather dash inserts remain on the production model... at least as an option, please!
  5. First complaint... I wish there'll be a manual option for the 3.6.
  6. Very nice. I'm lovin' it so far. Apart from the odd nose, it's understated... but still aggressive looking. The rear-3/4 is particularly dynamic. I'm preferring this to the bling-bling CTS.
  7. Just don't park on the street Downtown... we've gotten no-front-plate tickets for the Ody and Passat. Gotta love parking enforcement.
  8. Green Line will be available with either BAS or a full-hybrid system, not "both". The Green Line VUE that GM released today will likely be slaughtered by the competition. It carries the same low-budget mechanicals in a package 350 lb heavier than the old version, which only gets 27/32 on the old EPA cycle. I'm fine with GM fitting BAS on all their 2.4L Ecotecs to reduce unneeded fuel use, but don't charge $3K for it and proudly call it a hybrid. It's embarassing... this is their second VUE hybrid and they still haven't got it right. Escape full-hybrids cost the same and get much better MPG.
  9. Blegh. Looks like a Grand Vitara. The rest of the new Saturns are much more stylish.
  10. Very appealing car overall... if it turns out to be $1-2K less than a comparable Rabbit, I might swing for the... Saturn!
  11. Yes it does. They're removing equipment most passengers don't notice and adding things that you can brag about. Power seatback adjustment is much more impressive than the old-school GM six-way power seat manual recliner. Our Odyssey doesn't have passenger height adjustment, and no one misses it because of the chair-like seat height. Four-way power lumbar probably improves comfort more.
  12. Why couldn't they wait a bit...?
  13. You've been spoiled by the Germans, who do the symmetrical seat adjustment thing on all their cars. Most Asian and US cars don't have 'em.
  14. Pretty much the entire modern minivan segment is a pissing match.
  15. The bits of cheapness are okay in the Outlook. I'm more worried about the Enclave. I've seen more Edges than Lambdas so far, and I'm starting to like the Edges more. The exterior styling seems better executed... the stance reminds me of the X5's.
  16. I forgot to include the tax credit. The full-hybrid Altima gets $2350, whereas the light-hybrid AURA only gets $600. Similarly, the full-hybrid Escape is $520 less after rebates than the light-hybrid VUE. This Altima hybrid is especially compelling, because it's only $1320 more (with tax credits) than a comparable 2.5 S CVT w/ ABS, yet it offers better performance, more MPG, and more features.
  17. My bad. I meant to say wolf in sheep's clothing, not the other way 'round.
  18. Wow, now that's going full hybrid "without going broke". Why would anyone buy a Camry Hybrid ($2K more) or an AURA Green Line ($1K less but 14 fewer MPG, city) over this?
  19. Both interiors have faults. The 300 uses better materials on the dash, but it's let down by a dreary, sitting-in-a-bathtub design and hideously cheap door panels. The Lucerne at least has leather door inserts and a more friendly, organic ambience.
  20. No... award for finding someone you agree with.
  21. Exactly. Yes, but the toned-down Lucerne isn't as entertaining and cheesy. And while I'd never buy a DTS for $55K, a slightly used one goes for $25K, which makes it a steal. I'd take one over a "technically superior" ES350.
  22. The review sums up why I like the DTS. It's unique and interesting in an exotic and quaint '90s GM sort of way. I don't think I would drive one everyday, but I certainly see the appeal of it.
  23. Sheep in wolf's clothing.... this is it.
  24. Damn. For their contest thing, I predicted SRX, Pilot, RAV-4, Odyssey, and Silverado. Didn't see the GL coming... as car-like as it is for a full-sizer, it's too un-sporty for them.
  25. Sounds great. The 2.2 and 2.4 are guzzlers and don't produce much power for its size. The 1.8 Dual VVT would be a great replacement for the 2.2.
