It's a stunning car in person and very comfortable inside, albeit cozy. 52 MPGe is still better than a Prius, and most people don't drive more than 32 miles per day. The LNF is the biggest shortcoming of the Karma, in terms of both NVH and efficiency. The next generation of Fiskers with BMW engines should do better.

I can't even fathom. I slog it out on the 10 every day to Santa Monica, and I get up at 6 to hopefully get on the road before 6:30...just so I can leave work by 3-3:30 and avoid the evening crunch. LADOT Commuter Express? I've been using it to get from PV to downtown most mornings... takes about an hour an 20 minutes... not too bad for rush hour. Yea well it takes me an hour in heavy traffic, but 15-30 minutes if I just get up early and go to work early. Another side benefit: leaving at 3-3:30 in the afternoon means I still have a day to live my life after work. TDM, yea!

I drove an SE Sport model yesterday and it addressed most of my complaints with the SEL. What a dream to drive. With the sport suspension, it felt hunkered down and responsive yet refined and compliant at the same time. I found the sport seats perfect. Seriously considering swapping the Passat for one...

Have you seen its predecessor? No, the new Spark isn't up there with the likes of the MINI or Fiat 500, but at least it's now a perfectly decent way to get from A-to-B. It's great that GM is now offering the US a car for those shopping in this segment.

Doubtful. It's unlikely to get much better fuel economy than a Cruze. This is really the Aveo replacement for those insist on a new car but don't want to spend more than $9,999.

I've always wondered why the ASEAN market got their own trucks and SUVs. Much like the consolidation between NA and European market cars, I suspect we'll see the same for trucks. This Trailblazer would compete against the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Everest in the ASEAN market.

Ehh, an all electric Volt would be better, or at least for the US. Keep the price at $40K, but remove the gasoline engine and transmission and double the battery size to 32 kWh. That would give you an honest 100 mile EPA range for a car that slots somewhere between the Leaf and base Model S in both price and range.

Because some of use don't want Nissan poor quality and the Toyotas rust. Trucks are an American specialty and they do them the best in Full Size and should figure out a way to do them small again like the original S10. Isn't this Thai?

Not only are they pricey... they're pretty heavy, too. An Unlimited weighs more than 4,000 lbs.

I still prefer the Spanish party to the Fit. The Honda is almost too involving, and it never really settles down like the Ford does.

All the long term CTS tests I've seen report ~$100 first oil services. Anyhow trying to save a couple of bucks on something you do once a year is beside the point when a CTS retains 42% of its value after 3 years compared to the 65% you get back from a 328i (10k mi/yr, 2011 models). Depreciation is the biggest expense of any new car, and in the CTS you spend an extra $10,000 for that.

Focus is constrained by supply issues. Also, they're making money on them.

I'm pretty sure most Cadillac dealers charge $100+ for oil service. Synthetic oil ain't cheap. Luxury cars are inherently more expensive to maintain. Thankfully there are independent specialists that charge more reasonable rates.

Actually, the C300 is not slow. It does 0-60 in 7.5 secs. That's faster than an SRX and fast enough to be "not objectionable" to most buyers who are enthusiasts. To put that into some perspective. 1999 Buick Park Ave Ultra - 7.6 .... with a 4-speed and pushrods even. 1994 Buick Roadmaster Limited - 7.8 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Coupe 3.4 DOHC - 7.0 2004 Cadillac CTS 3.6l - 6.5 and for Dwight... 2012 Cadillac SRX 3.6 - 6.7 C300 does 0-60 in 6.5 seconds, according to Car and Driver. It just depends on who's testing it.

Well not entirely true. The Regal was always planned for sale in China. The Saturn was just going to be the Insignia we see today with the name scratched off. With the death of Saturn, GM just took the Chinese fascia and put it on the Opel. Chinese Regal fascia and US Regal fascia are different. US Regal is just an Insignia with a different grill.

Seems like all the partners in this dual-mode truck hybrid venture, apart from GM, didn't get much from it. The ML Hybrid is lease-only and dead, the Aspen/Durango Hybrid was DOA, and now this.

$29,500 after tax credit isn't bad, considering the level of equipment that comes standard: Entune, navigation, reversing camera, heated seats, etc. It's about $2,000 more than a Prius Three with navigation and $4,000 less than Volt. Volt is a more interesting looking car that's genuinely good to drive. Prius Plug-In is more of a driving appliance that prioritizes efficiency and practicality above anything else.
