  1. 0-60 7.5s... Even a G6 GTP which has been criticized for poor performace gets better time... OK great. I can safely challenge my friend's friend's Si
  2. Well that's stupid... 3 different names for the same car for 3 different markets... So THIS is how the Pontiac people spend their time...
  3. Well, I'd watch until it's officially announced. By the sound of things, it's only people walking around the plant calling it that. Maybe it looks very similar to the G6, so people nickname it the G5. I see it this way, the Torrent wouldn't be called the Torrent if they really wanted to convert all names to Gn (where n is a natural number). So guys, stop scaring ourselves.
  4. In response to 91z4me, here's my interpretation: Here
  5. Makes sense. Matches the idea of "next Ion being shelved", and given to Pontiac. Thinking deeply, Saturn didn't need that car, as it can always source its compact from Opel (read: Astra hatch).
  6. Really not sure if it's the best idea for Pontiac to go retro. Looks out of place with Pontiac's current lineup.
  7. That's why it's a replacement for the Vibe, I would say. The Vibe is slotted between the Grand Am and the Sunfire, in the older lineup. Delta based (Or Global Compact, whatever they call it now) large hatch.
  8. Name-wise, I think Pontiac's theme for "elemental" is nice, e.g. Solstice, Torrent. But there's no use for crying over spilt milk (G6).
  9. I wonder if people will start importing "EDM parts" for the Sky when it's out...
  10. This can't be happening... If it's just the Pursuit, then just call it a Pursuit. Quit trying to disguise that it's a rebadged Cobalt. We all know a Pursuit is a rebadged Cobalt. I find the Pursuit very disturbing already. I don't understand why they don't learn from mistakes. Pontiac just made some comebacks with the recent models, and now they are trying to kill off the image again.
  11. Well... um... it's not mine but my family's. A 1995 "Monte Carlo Sedan", a.k.a. 1995 Lumina. That's the closest I can think of. The others are either too old for us to get (our family arrived in 1990) or won't consider (I doubt a Camaro can fit our whole family out for dinner....).
  12. My Cavalier was trouble-free till the moment I returned it. It had 44k kms on it, if I remember correctly. Minus some stupid problems though.
  13. Mercedes SL 500, in a rather ghetto side of Toronto. Rare sighting. Also, a Bentley coupe when heading downtown.
  14. I was worried about this since the wheelbase was longer, but I was wrong. The trunk is fairly decent. I picked up my friend from the airport, he had a large suitcase and a FedEx jumbo box. I put it inside and there's still room left for smaller items.
  15. I think eventually there will be one. I found this read in the manual for the DIC error messages: "(TOP NOT ALLOWED) ...If your vehicle has a retractable hardtop with a manual transaxle, this message will display if the retractable hardtop button is pressed while the parking brake is not set and/or the vehicle's speed is greater than 2 mph (3 km/h)..."

    Am I Crazy?

But the new one isn't that much better. It almost looks like the one on the original N-Body Malibu before the 2000 refresh.
  17. Why did they keep the inline-6?
  18. I'd say go for its cousin, Cobalt. Or, if you like a bit more style, try to look for deals on a Saab 9-2x.
  19. Wow. Optional steering wheel. Wish they had that for the pre-refreshed Malibu.
  20. Not sure if this is the perfect idea though. This is what GM did with FWD and 4-speed autos. Look what we have here today. Every single car has the same: FWD and 4-speed automatic, even on the cars that shouldn't be.
  21. Interesting that they didn't put a 2005 Cavalier there
  22. Oh BTW, so the 9-2x is on? So we're just buying cars from Subaru?
  23. No, no, no. That's Granite Metallic in Pontiac's term. And Blue Granite is way off from Stealth Gray.
  24. 1300kms! Is Tiger Paw this bad? I'm off to the dealer tomorrow.
