That's not really all that impressive, considering that they could have gotten a non-hybrid Civic HX that gets 44mpg that probably cost much less.

I think evok, AH-HA, or the griffon had said previously that Kappa won't handle a V8 without extensive reinforcements. I don't think we'll see anything more than a forced induction 4cyl on this version of Kappa.

Black and blue; set up an account with paypal. Then, give us the email address you used to set up the paypal acccount. Then we can log in to paypal and send you the money directly. FYI for Paypal users, it's better to send money via a verified bank account (as opposed to a credit card) because Paypal won't take a cut that way. They will if you pay via credit card.

Count me in for whatever you need. C&G and Camino have a symbiotic relationship.

Coming from an Islander fan, Senators v. Flames in the Cup finals. The Isles will probably get bounced in the first round like they do every year.

3, which is why I chose the Cobalt. It turns heads, but its also no more car than I need at this stage of my life. For a second car, it'd be #5, as long as I can see out of it.

Are the Backstreet Boys calling GM white trash?

I'm not a 13 year old girl, so I couldn't care less about the Backstreet Boys. -
Yep....0-60 is all that matters in a race car, not comfort, handling, ease of use, or refinement. Go Dodge.

Finally, a halfway decent use for the HEMI.

FOG, that dealership sounds terrible, and it's a shame because it gives CHEVY a bad name, not just him. You should see if you can find the GM Zone Representative for yuor area. Typically, a GM Zone Rep oversees the operations of all GM dealers in a particular area. You would normally go to that person if you had an unresolvable dispute with your dealership over, say, the service done to your car. I think you can just walk in and ask the service or sales dept. of any dealership and they should give it to you willingly. RE: the foglight cutouts on the base Malibu bumper, I'm just thankful they didn't do this:

I remembered going over this case in a business law class I took for my Master's. Yes, it seems frivolous, but if you look at it in the eyes of a lawyer, the plaintiff had a very good case. At the trial, it was revealed: McDonalds required their coffee kept at 185 degrees Fahrenheit, plus or minus 5 degrees, significantly higher than other establishments. [Coffee is usually served at 135 to 140 degrees] An expert testified that 180 degree liquids will cause full thickness burns in 2 to 7 seconds. McDonalds knew before this accident that burn hazards exist with any foods served above 140 degrees. McDonalds knew that its coffee would burn drinkers at the temperature they served it. McDonalds research showed that customers consumed coffee immediately while driving. McDonalds knew of over 700 people burned by its coffee, including many third-degree burns similar to Ms. Liebeck's. McDonalds had received previous requests from consumers and safety organizations to lower their coffee temperature. There were many things McDonalds could've done to prevent injuries: lowering the holding temperature of their coffee, putting warning labels on the cups not to drink immediately, redesigning the cups to minimize tipping or prevent drinking in cars McDonalds knew of the risk and knew scores of injured customers, but did nothing to mitigate the chance of injury. Evidence showed that McDonalds served their coffee so hot to save money. This let them get away with a cheaper grade of coffee and cut down on the number of free refills they had to give away. McDonalds executives testified that they thought it would be cheaper to pay claims and worker's compensation benefits to people burned by their coffee versus making any of these changes. Even the trial court judge called McDonalds' conduct willful, wanton, reckless and callous. On to the situation at hand: Stella Liebeck, age 79, was a passenger in the car. The car was at a full stop so she could add cream and sugar to her coffee. [She was not the driver and the car was not moving.] The cup tipped and spilled over her lap. Within a few seconds, Ms. Liebeck suffered third-degree burns over 6 percent of her body, including her inner thighs, perineum, buttocks, genitals and groin. Ms. Liebeck was hospitalized for 8 days, and required skin grafting and debridement treatments. Parts of Ms. Liebeck's body were permanently scarred. Ms. Liebeck tried to settle with McDonald's for $20,000 to cover her medical expenses. McDonalds offered her $800. She sought mediation, but McDonald's refused. The jury initially awarded Ms. Liebeck the equivalent of two days worth of coffee sales for McDonalds as punitive damages. The trial judge reduced the verdict to something under $600,000. McDonalds has since lowered the temperature on their coffee. Source: http://www.osmond-riba.org/lis/essay_mcdonalds.htm

You could probably use this engine as a template. 1. Bore it out to 3.4L 2. get the heads from this engine. 3. adjust the carb to dump a little more fuel in.

Welcome back, AAS. I can't wait to see them either. What was the temperature like? When my parents went in early August, it hit about 130 or so, with some humidity. Ocn, you should take a trip to a nearby dock and listen to all the boats go to and fro....you'll just know which ones are Chevy powered. You'd swear it was a Chevelle that just passed you B)

My thoughts exactly. I'd love to see a monochrome red Colorado with those inserts. Throw in an LS2....

JP played with JS and SV...I think that was in 01. Joe and Steve are usually a given on the G3 tour. It's the third guy they usually swap out. JS is a pretty good at playing fast arrangements. Same for SV...David Lee Roth picked him for his band shortly after he left Van Halen to keep some of that VH sound. JP I think is a level above both, in the sense that he can play very complex arrangements and make it look easy. This may be a little harder to find, but Monsters of Rock 1995 featured JP playing with non other than Eddie Van Halen, and according to my friend, Eddie couldn't keep up with him. I'd really like to see Eddie have a go-around with G3, to give himself something to do in between VH albums.

John Petrucci from Dream Theater played G3 while in between DT albums. I'd love to have heard what that was like.

Chevelle El Camino Invicta Bonneville (screw the G8 name, so far the Solstice and Torrent have foild Pontiac's latest move to alphanumerics) GTO or Velite If they can do a Camaro in under 3500 pounds, then add that to the list. Otherwise leave it off and wait for a "Kappa II" that'll support extended wheelbases and V8s without extensive modifications.

Will any one of these valve covers fit on an LT1 pulled from a 1994 Caprice police cruiser? 12497978 12497985 12355350 My dad's putting that engine in a 1955 Bel Air (after modding the heck out of it), and I might get them for my dad for Christmas. About the only thing I know about the current covers is that they're the center bolt style. TIA!

Croc, Ven, Whistler...I agree with all of you.

We're all on this site because we've been touched by GM one way or another. My question is: How so? Share your experiences with GM here. Only one requirement....keep things family-friendly, mmmkay? I'll get the ball rolling: Some of my GM memories: When we (my sisters and I) would visit my grapdparents in the Bronx for the weekend, we'd either be riding around in a 1973 chocolate-brown Monte Carlo or a 1955 Bel Air hardtop. The Monte was in pristine condition, the Bel Air was much less so having been stolen so many times. For both cars, my grandmother made clear plastic seat covers (think "Everybody Loves Raymond") that you would usually stick to in the hot weather. My father, with the exception of a 1993 Eagle Vision, has always owned GM cars. When I was really young he had a 1965 Corvette that he promised to me when I learned to drive. It was custom-painted red and had some custom bodywork on it. When we went out a family, one of us would sit on my mom's lap and the other one would sit on the console. The heck with safety, it was a great car. When he got a job in Long Island City (65mi away), my dad bought a '76 Monte for $200. The car was in OK shape except for some rust spots, and the red paint had oxidized to the point where it was Hello Kitty pink. my dad never put a dime into that car. When the radiator hose sprung a leak, he wrapped duct tape around it. When the exhaust system leaked, he took it out and welded the holes shut. The floor mats were cut from our old living room rug. It never, ever saw a wash while we had it. Despite all this, it ran and ran........and ran. He actually made $50 on it, selling it for $250 several yers later.

Why do I love GM so much? It goes something like this: My father and I were at a hockey game when I was very young. During intermission he picked me up and dangled me over the balcony (we were in the nosebleed seats). The following dialogue ensued: Dad: "What's your favorite car company?" Me: "Ford" Dad: "No" (proceeds to shake me by the ankles) What is your favorite car company?" Me: "Chrysler?" Dad "NOOOOOOO" (lets go of one of my ankles) "Now, what is your favorite car company?" Me: "GM! GM!" Dad: "That's right." He then pulls me back into my seat and hands me my popcorn. . . . . . . . Actually, none of that happened, but it is how my former co-worker's father taught him how to like the New York Rangers. If you put all the responses to this thread together, you'd have my answer.
