  1. Def, I'm so sorry to hear this...I hope everything works itself out for you soon.
  2. If Wagoner was really going to kill GM, don't you think that he would have done so already? I would think that the economic repercussions would have been much more severe back when GM had more market share than they do today. No one person will ultimately save GM. However, I do think that Wagoner will end up playing a role (no matter how small) in the turnaround. And one more point. Buickman, if you met my 9th grade algebra teacher, I think you'd agree that she is the true incarnation of evil, not Wagoner. She'd make him look as innocent as a newborn baby.
  3. Nice story so far...infinitely better than the crap I had shoved down my throat this year in english. I could actually understand what was going on in this, very much unlike Lord of the Flies. Intriguing storyline, too.
  4. I always knew Maryland lawmakers aren't the sharpest knives in the box... General State Laws Oral sex may not be given or recieved anywhere-80% of students in Prince George's County's Secondary Schools should be in jail then, and the other 20% either aren't in to oral or have done other things first. Thistles may not grow in one's yard-my neighbor has thistles... Baltimore County It is illegal to take a lion to the movies-really? No person who is a "tramp" or "vagrant" shall loiter in any park at any time-haha It is a park rule violation to be in a public park with a sleeveless shirt. Baltimore City Though you may spit on a city roadway, spitting on city sidewalks is prohibited-impossible to enforce. You may not curse inside the city limits-see above; the entire city as well as tourists and people passing through would be in jail if this was enforced It is a violation of city code to sell chicks or ducklings to a minor within 1 week of the Easter holiday-yes, the chick market in Baltimore is just so busy 1 week before and after Easter that they needed to pass this law... Cumberland It is illegal to use profane language on a playground-still, impossible to enforce Knocking stones into a public park is prohibited. Rockville Persons may not swear while on the highway-it is impossible NOT to swear on ANY road in Maryland west of the Chesapeake Bay! It is illegal to remove a public building by writing on it-I wasn't aware this was even possible... Citizens may not swim in the public fountains within the city limits-this actually makes a little sense...
  5. If you want attention, drive down here and actually follow the speed limit once you get into Maryland. You'll get plenty of attention, in the form of hand gestures, faces, and interesting conversations at traffic lights.
  6. I'll take my SS convertible in polo green, please.
  7. He wasn't that old...maybe mid/late 20s-early 30s. And the best part was I saw his Tacoma out front-it was a new one, but the front bumper was already hanging off of it and it had more dents than a golf ball.
  8. I had a nice experience at a Starbucks in Camp Hill, PA. I went in with my aunt, uncle, and cousins. We sat down, they drank some wierdly-named coffees and I had a cookie (I don't drink coffee). We talk about our cars, and my uncle asks me what kind of engine is in my truck. I tell him that it's the Vortec V6, and some guy turns around and says "If you were smart , you would have bought a Toyota instead of your crappy little GMC!" I tell him that it's none of his business what car I have, and that he needed to turn around. He then says "I bet your GMC has been into the repair shop, like what, 16 times already? My Tacoma's only been in 3 times so far." I say "is that right? Well, for your information, my crappy GMC has been in the shop Zero times so far. Only has had oil changes. But of course, my GMC is obviously inferior to your perfect little Tacoma, am I right?" He gets up and walks out in a huff, and I continue to enjoy my cookie. And that was only my first time in a Starbucks! I can't wait to see what my second time will be like...
  9. Not a big fan of BMW's interiors lately-they just look akward to me. The last time I saw two air vents stacked on each other on the passenger side was in my friend's mom's Beretta. That black piece above the aluminum on the passenger's side doesn't look like it fits very well with the top air vent. There's a noticeable (at least to me) gap. It also looks like it doesn't fit too well with the top part of the dash either.
  10. Definitly not my favorite Jeep...I like the Escape/Mariner better. At least it doesn't resemble the Caliber on the outside.
  11. Last summer, there was this one week where there was at least one new accident every day. I think like 18 people ended up dead over the course of that week. My neigbor knew about 6 of them, so she was going to a funeral every day for a while. The biggest factors in the accidents were speed (which lead to loss of control) and not wearing seatbelts. They still have the memorials up on the side of the roads where the accidents happened, but now some "concerned citizen's group" is petitioning the Maryland General Assembly to have them removed. The whole town of Laurel had a sad, but very nice vigil for them on Main Street a little while after the accidents. Needless to say, it was a sad summer for a lot of people.
  12. This one kid pulled up next to me in a Civic while I was cruising down US-113 south of Ocean City last weekend. He starts to rev his engine up at me in my Sonoma at a stoplight. I got the Sonoma up to about 2800 rpm and he stopped revving. Light turned green and we went at it. The Sonoma won, hands down, even with it loaded down with a cooler, couple of bricks, a heavy cooler, an overweight beagle, and a suitcase. The look on his face as I pulled away from him was priceless. OHV engines rock.
  13. A couple for me: "You Give Love a Bad Name"-Bon Jovi "It's My Life"-Bon Jovi "Move Along"-All American Rejects "Hanging By A Moment"-Lifehouse "Spin"-Lifehouse "Hips Don't Lie"-Shakira & Wyclef Jean "3 A.M."-Matchbox 20 "Disease"-Matchbox 20 "Panama"-Van Halen "Sweet Child of Mine"-Poison "Photograph"-Def Leppard "Love Bites"-Def Leppard "For You I Will/Confidence"-Teddy Geiger ...among others.
  14. That would suck if just one part of the whole thing would need to be replaced... Cool idea though. Nice interior too.
  15. There's always the Aveo Value Edition... I'd say a used Alero V6-peppy engine, good fuel economy, reasonably sized, nice car. They're not all that expensive, either.
  16. My cousin has one of those on the driver-side mirror of his Cavalier. Funny stuff
  17. Why does the 3.5L V6 get detuned from the 250 HP in the LX cars to the 232 HP in the Sebring? I would have thought Chrysler would want to at least match the Duratec 35 going into Ford's CD3 cars.
  18. We used to get out around June 10th and go back a couple of days after Labor Day...those were the good days. Then our wonderful ex-CEO came to power and started (among other things, like an FBI investigation) sending us back a week earlier each year. School started on my birthday (August 29th) one year...not a good start to that year.
