  1. I just posted this in the Viper is Dead topic, but it's appropriate here also... Considering the recent news about Jeep... With GM rounding out the HUMMER line (H3T, HX(H4), upcoming hybrids), I have to wonder if GM would fight for Jeep, or even consider it. HUMMER's image is still going strong, and has a lot of potential if managed correctly. Jeep has been drug through the mud with cute-utes and Cerberus. Fear not though, we'll still have the building to remember Chrysler by after all is said and done:

  3. See for yourself... http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/26/in-the-...lacrosse-super/
  4. The Euro Accord/TSX looks better than expected. I have no love or respect for the current TSX, but this looks like a suitable entry-level car for Acura.
  5. I sooo want this.... 2006 XLR with 1,639 miles I want to just drive up to the dealer and trade my Buick in right now... It's odd. I don't usually have a desire for RWD, two-doors, or convertibles... but I've always wanted an XLR... all the way back to the EVOQ concept. They're "becoming" reasonable now. The price on this one is great IMO.
  6. Funny... you're the one who constantly refers back to this comparison by Car and Driver. Have you even read it? Eighth Place: The Quickest Sedans of 2008: 30,000 to $40,000: 2008 Buick LaCrosse Super and in case you missed it, Buick's average buyer's age last year was in the mid-fifties:
  7. 100% agreed.
  8. I think the Volt is a perfect source for a production Buick Riviera Coupe.
  9. This is true for almost any brand. SAAB, YES! For Oldsmobile, it wasn't the product that was the problem. For fairness, GME hasn't had control over SAAB for very long. It'll take the next generation of SAAB products to determine if GME knows how to manage other brands beside Opel/Vauxhall. If Saturn is now managed by GME, so far, the new product isn't lighting up sales charts in its home market. For the sake of GM's NA market share and the Saturn brand in general, let's hope the product catches on soon.
  10. What's sad is that we can all translate that. Cadillac's acronyms are catching on!
  11. Resembling isn't the same as using the same dashboard though. As for your comparison in dash layout and spacing, The Lucerne is a large vehicle with a dash designed to accommodate 5 & 6 passenger seating (same with the Impala)... unlike the mid-sized Aurora which only had a 5-seater.
  12. None of the Buick-GMC dealers will lower the price of the Acadia & Enclave vehicles to compete against each other, let alone the Traverse. Example: A customer walks in and says 'they can give me the Traverse for $28,900. If you'll lower the Enclave/Acadia from $38,000 to $28,900 I'll buy it.' Buick-GMC dealers will laugh. I can't do that with the current Impala/LaCrosse or the Malibu/G6.... definitely not on the Lambdas. Saturn’s no-haggle policy leaves it out of the equation. Likewise, since the GMC & Buick versions are more expensive, Chevrolet won't have a problem competing on price. I honestly believe that the only people that will cross-shop these vehicles are people determined to only buy GM. The rest of the market will look at the four Lambdas... see which one fits their style, image, and price range... then visit the dealer. A Lexus RX owner would probably check out the Enclave, but would never step foot into the Chevy store for the Traverse. Likewise, a Ford Explorer owner would probably be more compelled to check out the Chevrolet Traverse instead of the OUTLOOK or Enclave.
  13. I can see Hyundai doing a "Hyundai-Genesis" dealer... similar to Lincoln-Mercury.
  14. Digging for parts-sharing? Check for yourself: Traverse: Enclave: The rear windshield designs are similar, but overall, the rears of the Enclave and Traverse appear unique. Buick's tri-shield bulge in the center helps. If this is rebadging (unique exteriors and unique interiors that tastefully represent each division) then GM needs to keep doing it.
  15. Yuck! Can the answer be "None of the Above?" Well, honestly, they're all probably production interiors. It probably has to do with differences between trim levels. The bottom has manual climate control and no controls on the steering wheel. The upper has auto-controls everywhere along with the two-tone leather interior.
  16. At current prices, the TSX starts at over $28,000 with a 4-cyl 205hp engine. Let's pray this one is actually worth the price.
  17. Sorry Turbo, I think we're looking at different vehicles. I think the Traverse has more "brand DNA" than the Acadia or Outlook. As for the details, to me the Traverse appears to have received the same amount of time at finishing school as the Outlook... if not more.
  18. Ugh... What is Acura thinking!?! I'll need to see it in person to tell if it looks as bad as I think it does, but how is this suppose to increase sales?
  19. Yeah... counter clockwise.
  20. Looks nice. I loved the Lancia Thesis when it came out...
  21. Satunr now has more than two products to peddle. The additional traffic generated by Astra will also increase Aura viewership.
  22. I can't help but think "updated Volt" when looking at the front. It looks good inside and out. It's a win for Chevrolet. Toyota, Nissan, Ford, & Honda should be worried. Minivan & mid-size CUV sales will be hit hard if the Traverse is priced right.
  23. Last I checked, GM brands have a high percentage of repeat business too, especially in trucks/SUVs... where Toyota and Nissan are depending on deals and incentives.
  24. Funniest thing... I saw a Prius on one of the 520 exit ramps in Redmond/Bellevue with a couple walking away holding a gas can. They had to have been pushing it. Can't the Prius run in electric mode for a few miles if it runs out of gas? I'm sure it tells the driver? I'm not knocking the Prius in this post. It was obviously driver stupidity that caused it to be on the side of the highway, but still...
