2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD named Motor Trend Truck of the Year
Intrepidation replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chevrolet
I forgot that these trucks were new underneath this year. Beating out Ford is an accomplishment though. -
Saw a Prius Plugin Hybrid. Pretty cool...not the Prius itself per say, but seeing a prototype vehicle on the road.

I always liked the 9-3. Interior still looks handsome even if it lacks some of the luxury touches even new Dodge interiors have, like stitching on the dash. Replace the Cobalt stereo with the option Nav unit though and it still looks good.

So, I'm driving backward, uphill, in the snow...
Intrepidation replied to balthazar's topic in The Lounge
I don't usually remember my dreams, but there is one from when I was around 5 I still remember. It involved me in the `69 Barracuda going backwards at high speed down the main road that went past our old home. Except instead of going into the city it became more rural, and the speed increased. I wasn't even driving it, but the car was following the road as it would if it were travelin in the normal direction, just all in reverse. I don't remember much else, but that part I still do pretty clearly. -
FWIW the Sonota Turbo thing is a running gag...not meant to actually be taken seriously. C'mon guys, let's lighten up a bit.

I mean really, what does it say to new members when they join the site and see countless threads bitching about the same petty things? Then all of this negativity and conspiracy theories about "groups" being out to get people. It's far more harmful than green and red dots. Plus it could always be worse. Some sites have rep systems where the rep requires a comment and gets left in your profile, but it still anonymous. So you can have a - rep calling you a dumb retard cluttering up your profile. Now that would be counterproductive and create an uninviting environment.

Next up: FWD Corvette.

I have yet to see the classic Mopars. Gotta see them someday.

Hey dude! Great to see you made it here!

I like it, it lets you sort the thread from highest ranked to lowest, so you can skip the nonsensical posts if you don't feel like filtering through them. Especially handy in the Politics section.

Lupini Chevrolet SuperUte – Holden SS Ute with 400kW
Intrepidation replied to Intrepidation's topic in Chevrolet
I'm surprised Camino hasn't started pondering how to buy one yet. -
Why don't they make Concept Cars like this anymore?

Yeah it is, I hope they put it into production. -
Lupini Chevrolet SuperUte – Holden SS Ute with 400kW
Intrepidation replied to Intrepidation's topic in Chevrolet
Very cool, but I think the correct name they are looking for is Chevrolet El Camino SS. Whoever took the photos needs to go get a tripod. Only the first photo isn't blurry, and with that one they thought it would be a pretty cool idea to make the black car be parked in a dark place so you can't see the details. Kinda missing the point when the goal is to show off your creation. -
Think Australia’s the king of the performance ute? Think again. South African tuning house LupiniPower is currently putting its Holden SS Ute-based Lupini Chevrolet SuperUte through an accelerated development and testing program, and word is it’s passing with flying colours. The standard Holden SS Ute gets 270kW and 530Nm out of its 6.0-litre V8 engine. For the SuperUte, Lupini has added a supercharger to make it more like the engine found in the Corvette ZR1. The result is a staggering 400kW of power and an almighty 785Nm (578lb/ft) of torque. That’s an extra 130kW/255Nm – or slightly more than adding the engine from a Volkswagen Golf 118TSI to the Holden. Acceleration times are mental too. With the six-speed automatic, the SuperUte flies from 0-100km/h in just 4.5 seconds – as quick as an Aston Martin DB9, and 1.5secs hotter than the SS Ute. Head all the way to 200km/h and the SuperUte will be there in just over 15 seconds – a full 6.0secs faster than the Holden. The tweaks aren’t all just under the bonnet either. Lupini has equipped the SuperUte with race specification front disc brakes and calipers, reworked the suspension, added a unique traction bar and fitted 20in alloy wheels and Bridgestone Potenza ultra high performance tyres. Bilstein suspension and a limited-slip differential are also available as options. Lupini says all SuperUte vehicles maintain their 3-year/100,000km warranty. Only a limited number of SuperUtes will be made to ensure they remain exclusive. Lupini will sell the Chevrolet SuperUte for 639,900 rand ($94,200), about a $34,000 premium over the standard Chevrolet Ute SS, which sells in South Africa for 413,000 rand ($60,800). http://www.caradvice.com.au/94365/lupini-chevrolet-superute-holden-ss-ute-with-400kw/

Doesn't get much cleaner than that. -

I like the dual cockpit design, which there was actually a Gallardo concept from only a few years ago which had that design element. I thought it was very cool. -
More than just a "mild" refresh.
-
And the Amanti looks like what it is: an S-Type knockoff complete with quad round headlights, and rounded grill, what's your point? Also, that chrome trim is on the current 300C.
-
It does if your name is Audi. It may look subtle at a glance, but it is a comprehensive reskin, all the panels are the different.
-
Or, alternatively, the Pacifica.
-
Because only 7 people in the US would buy them.
-
I really like it from this angle: Front looks good too. In fact my only real complaint is the front overhang which looks longer than before.

Well of course, it's no Hyundai Sonota, the greatest car known to man, the bringer of peace, the curer of disease, the Second Coming, but then what is?
