It's the most badass station wagon on the planet

I'll join, most of you guys haven't seen much of my sketches...but it sounds like a fun thing! By the way...can the sig include sketches that aren't car-related? 1. American_Revolution_2005 2. MRDETROITMETAL 3. 04monteintimidator 4. blackviper8891 5. NOS2006 6. Camino LS6 7. [Kimura the Dodgefan]

Yes it is, I've seen proof of it. AWD is naturally the best, but unless you've got the engine in your trunk then RWD is almost uselessin the snow...especially high-powered RWD cars.

I don't drive it but my family owns a `69 and a `70 Barracuda/`Cuda...does that count?

It said "PROTOTYPE" on the side glass.

Blame the Japanese for Front wheel drive

Ironic that you're anti FWD attitude contradicts with your sig featuring "Rear Drive Mafia" and a FWD Fusion -
Yeah, I found it peculiar that he didn't give me a more accuarte answer. Like "it's this many seconds quicker to 60 and the next fastest truck."

So we went to the annual Topsfield Fair in MA today, which is sponsored by Toyota. I saw a Yaris and an FJ Cruiser, but what really cought my eye was a Tundra prototype. I have to admit, in person it looks much better and less ungainly than in any of the photis. I still think the headlights seem a bit small for the truck, but oh well. So I start asking the Toyota Representative about the truck. I ask if he knows how much HP the 5.7 liter V8 has. He says they haven't released official numbers yet, but in a comarison test with the Silverado, F-150, an Ram 1500 Laramie with a "5.6 liter Hemi" it beat them "by like 8 cars spaces" to 60 mph. I had to point out that the Hemi was 5.7 liters... I would have asked more prying questions but we were getting ready to leave cuz of the rain. If we go back next weekend I'll be sure to pry more. So any questions I should ask?

How is stating what the companyt is doing and what it still needs to do blind loyalty? Seriously, could you not think of a better response than that?

Alright, I have a repair manual for the car so I can check which sensors it has. My dad suspects the throttle body may be the kulprit. I have the following reasons for not junking it: 1.) I have little money, it's a pain in the ass trying to find a job for some reason. Even McDonald's isn't hiring atm. Until I get a job I have little choice but to drive it (or the Prizm). 2.) Lawrence has the highest insurance rates in the entire state, it costs enough just to insure this...amagine the cost of a newer car. 3.) Why? So the throttle body may need work. It still drives fine and runs fine most of the time. Every older car is gonna need work at some point. Even newer ones do (like say that Prizm). 4.) It's been a very good car for my family and me. It's never left me stranded anywhere (can't say the same for the Prizm), and it's been pretty reliable, it's proven durable (no repairs needed after it was hit). Yeah sure, I wanna save up for a new car, maybe a first-gen Stratus (or ideally, a Charger, Magnum, Challenger, or Avenger), but for now I'm content with it. And plus, after all it's 17 years and 209k miles of faithful service/abuse...it deserves a little TLC.

Whose Throw-Out Barring is now acting up...

Which sensors may I ask? And I'll check the throttle body when it's not raining, thanks! Ya, OK. And get what...a 100 bucks? That's lame advice.

My new sig (a couple weeks old but I couldn't find the thread )

For some time now the Shadow has had some stalling issues. Usually this would happen when the car was cold, and almost always on cool/colder days. In the winter it was a bitch until the car warmed up. It would stall either when coming to a stop and almost being stopped, or when just starting to accelerate. Since I got back from Kansas I have discovered that it stalls when going in revers. Not always, but sometimes it will either want to stalls, and the tack swings wildly between 0 and 1200 RPM...sometimes it stalls, sometimes it doesn't, but it sounds like it. I think it might be the throttle body, but I'm not sure. It's a fuel-injected 2.5 4-cylinder. Any thoughts? It'd be much appriciated!

Sorry BV I can't help ya, but 76ChevyTrucker's idea is awesome!

What car are you working on? I've had some headliner experiences. The headliner in my Shadow was saggy and the board was broken for years (pervious owner's kid jumped on the roof). So I went to the local junkyard with a friend and took the headliner out of a newer Shadow that had a good headliner. One thing is for sure, it's easier to get out than put back in. In the junker we just ripped the pillar trim off, unscrewed the sun vizers and disconnected the dowm light. Of course, since Shadows are hatchbacks, it's relatively easy to slide the entire thing out the back. Then we ripped the headliner out of mine, and carefully pulled down the pillar. We slid it into position, and after some finessing, we pul the pillars back, reconnected the dome light, and screwed the hooks and vizors back in. Ironically, me and my dad were talking about how he went to a fabric store and bought some fabric to replace the saggy headliner (but keeping the cardboard which wasn't broken. Then he used adhesive he bought from the hardware store, cuz the fabric store's stuff didn't work for $h!. And...ta-da! I dunno if any of this helps, but it might

It's so lazy, turn your own damn headlights on. Although the atuo off feature is nice..sometimes ya just forget to turn them off
-
Save up and build one, that's what I did.
-
That's sad...especially considering Shadows came with glovebox lights.

Yeah, I know.
