Thank you mister helpful. The BLS starts at approximately € 27,000 (roughly US$35,000). That's a lot of money for Cadillac 9-3 True enough about the 1-series...although I believe it's very cramped, impractical and has a low rent interior for by BMW standards. Well the Mini does get it's own platform. About the Kappa as mentioned in another post: it's too small to build a 3-series competitor. Maybe Zeta though.

Now that I think about it, Mercedes does whore itself out with the A and B Class. But they don't here in America because Americans perceive them to be exclusive, luxury cars...those kind of vehicles would damage their reputation (so might the 1-Series). But in their home market where gas prices are insane it seems more excepted. So my thinking is this: A FWD BLS would be ok in Cadillac's home market, since as cavalier36 pointed out, Lexus, Acura, and Lincoln (although they're barely in this market anymore) have FWD entry level saloons. But, to be taken seriously, Cadillac needs a RWD entry level saloon to compete with the 3-series, and with a no-compromise interior (which means no corporate stereo).

Well it''s an abnormally warm--hell it's a record-breaking warm Saturday. The sun is out and it's nice as hell. It's strange and not right but I think it's a great opportunity to give the cars a wash and vacuum them out. Maybe I'll take some picks when I'm done Anyone else got the same thing in mind?

So I've heard. There other problem with Cadillacs have been the interiors. The CTS-V for example is respected for it's performance abilities, but the interior drags it down and they look at it as "too big" since it's supposedly aimed at the 3-series. That sense of cheapness and being too plus-sized for their smaller roads and tastes is why I think it's never lit up the sales charts over there.. The STS? We don't even buy them here. The Escalade? Too big, and the last one was just a tarted up Yukon XL with a Cadillac grill (at least this one gets its own interior). I just thikn they need a smaller ca r under the CTS that's been designed to be a Cadillac from the start and not a Saab. What does the BLS sell for over there?
-
Well, I'm not gonna push this into some big, exhausting argument. All I'll say is look at the reviews of Cadillacs from say, Top Gear, and also look at the sales themselves. A fraction of what they sell here. Considering BMW's 3-series outsells the Ford Mondeo (I think), they certainly have the moeny to buy a Cadillac, most of them just don't.

Man that sucks, hope you and your friend can get it fixed.

Can't wait for MGS4 to come out, and yeah Gran Turismo 5 is gonna be amazing...will they have damage this time around? I'm also looking forward to the next Final Fantasy to be released on it. You can always rely on the PlayStation to come out with the best selection of some of the best games. I'm waiting to buy one till all the bugs are fixed, and until I have the money to get an HDTV as well...cuz that's they only way to truly appreciate the hi-res gaming the PS3 is capable of. I've yet to find a game for Xbox 360 I find worth the price of admission...except, of course, Halo 3...but that's only one game and that system costs too much to be bought for just that. Right now I have a Seaga Genesis, Gameboy Advance, PlayStation, PSOne, 2 Dreamcasts (I got one of them for dirt cheap when they were on clearance) and...get this...4 PS2s! One was an original model I got for my birthjday...I got real lucky and found one at Target...this was back when they were hard to find. The disk reader stopped working, so my brother and I pitched and bought a new one. Then I got one for free cuz a friend has dropped it and broke it, but I managed to fix it enough so it could be used...we use it soley for Final Fantasy X, and last X-mas my brother got one of the slim PS2s...which hardly gets used but it does from time to time. I had a PSP but it got stolen Someday I'll buy a new one.

Bad drivers tend to own... Honda? Toyota? VW?
Intrepidation replied to Sixty8panther's topic in The Lounge
Shoulda flipped that bitch off...she was probably close enough that she could see. -
Aura is Epsilon. Ion is Delta. BIG difference.

You lucky bastard! So how''s the PS3? So Satty do you have the gun that goes with Duck Hunt? I used to play when I was younger..so much fun. But if you want to play the classics get an Emulator and roms. It's free and plays well on the PC.

Free HEMI with Purchase: The DCX Incentive Saga Continues
Intrepidation replied to Variance's topic in Chrysler
I see. That's good, cuz it'd be a real shame that these massive incentives drive down the resale value of the LX cars. -
Hah I like the BLS but you know the Europeans want something more out of their cars. They're picky like that I just think GM needs to build a proper 3-series competitor...that will get them more respect and more sales.

My girlfriend and I traveled 1,700 miles from Kansas in it. While it may not have the most power at highway speeds, it did pass fairly well. It's an excellent cruiser, and is stable even at 08-85. The car was also fully loaded with stuff plus 2 cats and us...got 40 mpg too! For a long time it only had 1st 2nd and 5th along with Reverse...it actually managed quite well with what it had, but the extra gears make a big difference. It's very smooth and refined as well. I will respect Toyota for that drive train if nothing else.

I see. A any rate this is still something Honda can make a great niche with. While diesels are common in Europe they've been slow to catch on stateside. Honda may yet pierce teh market and get some real popularity with this model. It's quite a bold move...I guess it's a slogan they should be flying instead of Ford

Like the 4Runner controversy? But yeah, they know how to put a nice spin on there problems.

How do you know about the quality without seeing or touching it in person? Do yu have a magical power or have you been invited by DCX to fondle the dash before the public does? I think not. The gaps don't look bad from the pics I've seen and they are preproduction. As for interior and exterior styling...what do you expect? They're minivans! The last out-of-the-box minvivan we got was the droopy and ugly Quest...and we see how ell they sell. As for the V6...it may not be the most powerful but it's certainly not underpowered...plus it has an extra cog to make up for that. I won't argue that they need a new V6 though.
-
The problem for them is that while they may be churning out new vehicles faster than anyone else, their quality is taking a nose dive. The problem I have is that too many people believe Toyota is still bullet proof in terms of quality and they are superior to other manufacturers, when they are not. These people then buy them based solely on this false perception of quality. If anyone is superior in the quality department it's Honda...I can't remember the last recall they had.

Not for a long time but yeah I've played it. Nothing like putting out a fire with your own hose

Did you know you can use a rubber nipple as a silencer? Or a can of soda or even a cat! (though please don't use the cat).

People who want maximum space efficiency that nothing else can match.

Why so they are. If Cadillac ever wants to be taken seriously in Europe they have to stop these half-assed attempts at a "luxury car".
