  1. I don't know if you guys have seen this episode yet, but the feature is their journey from Las Vegas to the Bonneville Salt Flats in a Corvette ZR1, Cadillac CTS-V, and Dodge Challenger SRT-8. I think its one of the their very best episodes. Our success though was not the biggest surprise on this trip. We came here wondering if America had finally made a car that might actually work in the civilized world. The answer is no, they haven't. As you can see from our smiles, they've made three.
  2. Keep us posted!
  3. I get McDonalds every now and then. usually when I do it's a double cheeseburger or 2. I've had the angus mushroom and swiss once and thought it was good. As for their fries, if they get them right (which is rare) they are terrific...but liek I said, it's rare that you get them fresh and with the right amount of salt. Usually it's either no salt or salt overkill. Overall I prefer Wendy's if I'm going to do fast food. Arby's is good but there's only one within like 20 miles. I usually just make my own burger. Chili's does have some kickass burgers though, so does Fuddruckers. The best burgers though, are from a place in Miami, OK called Waylan's Hamburgers the Ku-Ku That Ford is one of their mascots.
  4. Yeah but the G6 has been a problem child too, I know at least a couple members on this very site had issues with them. I haven't really heard about any issues with the Malibu.
  5. By the way, next year the Challenger SE gets a 5-speed to replace the 4-speed.
  6. When I think of RWD proportions, I think of this: Short front overhang and long rear overhang.
  7. Yeah, I it's why I never cared for those cars...they have worse proportions than several FWD cars. I for like the 3rd gen Camaro, but just the same, that huge front overhang still bugs me.
  8. I actually liked the 3rd gen Camaro (not so much the Firebird), it's the 4th gen I don't like.
  9. Those do look much nicer Ted, which reminds me, I need to get a hold of some GMC Acadia knobs.
  10. Well not quite, the rags to mention that the Challenger's ride and cruiser style is a weakness and a strength depending on what your style is.
  11. The Challenger has the benefit of having usable backseats too.
  12. Our search engine is $h!, but I've come to notice most forum search engines are.
  13. Challenger V6? I know you appreciated the styling, especially out back as I recall, with the lack of a deep cutout for the trunk like so many cars have these days.
  14. There's also the Journey, Vue, and Caravan is she's not concerned about what's fashionable, thought the Caravan might be too big (it is however, very practical).
  15. Yes but he's not a poser and the Terrain is pseudo "Industrial Strength".
  16. Have you ever posted photos of your Aurora?
  17. Is that the one you can fit a Mini in the ass of?
  18. Running out of TP is a worst nightmare. I keep rolls stacked in the cabinet above the thrown. Everyone is in agreement about which way the TP goes (over).
  19. It's funny because its true. Well from the GM stable there's the Malibu, which is a solid choice based on reviews. It's handsome vehicle with a fairly nice interior, and even in lower trim form doesn't look cheap. On the larger side is the Impala, but you want to upgrade from the GP. I'm sure there's heavy incentives on it though, and you said performance and tech aren't priorities. As far as CUVs go, the Equinox gets very impressive mpg numbers. There's also the G8 V6. From Ford, there's the Fusion which has been getting very good reviews, and I think you can still get the 4-banger with a stick, if she cares for such things. There's the Edge but as I recall MPGs aren't that great. You might be able to get a leftover Taurus for cheap, or go for the new one. From Chrysler there's the Avenger, which is in base form is certainly not very techy or performance oriented. It gets good fuel economy and I'm sure has hefty incentives, but it's not nearly as refined as the Malibu or Fusion I'd wager. However, the incentives may make up or that, because I'ms sure they're much higher than incentives on the Malibu and Fusion. There's also the Charger, which again has good incentives, is comfortable, and performance is respectable with the 3.5. Skip the 2.7 though, the extra fuel economy isn't worth the gutlessness. If you plan to keep the car for a while, Chrysler's lifetime powertrain warranty might also be a factor.
  20. Sure he could go down there, but why waste gas going to 4 different dealerships and seeing what they've got? If you're interested in giving a dealer your business, and give them a call, t hey should damn well return it. It's not like they're too busy with traffic to get to your call. If a dealer didn't bother to return my call, that says a lot about how much they would value you as a customer, and I would never buy from them, let alone have my car serviced in the future by them.
  21. Well after I paid off my college debts, bought a house, and gave some money to my family... I would have all of the engines and transmissions rebuilt from the ground up, have all of the cars repainted and whatever bodywork done, all of the electricals redone, add sound deadening material to the vehicles, dual exhuast for my car, upgraded brakes, Special suspension, Caliber SRT wheels, my own one-ff fascia made and plenty more. Then when I was satisfied with our cars, I would write m father a check and buy both `Cudas off him, restore both of them, and drive them in the summer. Then I would start buying some new cars, starting with a black G8 GXP, a Flex Limited, a hot Mageta Fiesta, a black Challenger SRT8, maybe a Dodge Ram, and a Camaro 2SS. However the Camaro would get a LY bumper and head to a body shop to be repaintd in that yellow/orange color Bumblebee was....because that color rocks. Then I would head over to the classic car junkyard and pull out that `57 Chrysler Saratoga four door hardtop and fully restore it, get a `72 Plymouth Satellite Sebring, and a Dodge Magnum SRT8,
