  1. sure. actually, i would promote it more as a thousand dollar a year savings over smoking and it stinks less.
  2. fly i didn not know you drove a compass. i have seen quite a few of them sold around here now.
  3. CVT's will improve over time. If it were more available and practical for everyday I would drive a true manual hands down. Typically I loathe traditional stepped slushbox automatics more than just about anything else in life. Once they figure CVT's out, I think its the best compromise for most average folks. The DSG trannies I think hold the most promise for folks who like to drive but can't get a real stick. On the 500's they issued a TSB to program the CVT more aggressively. It used to be you had to FLOOR the throttle and wait and then it would adjust. But folks who've had the TSB done say it 'downshifts' much better now. The reason I ultimately went 6 speed was because on test drives the CVT didn't adjust fast enough but over time I found the 6 speed is no gem and is like the Camry automatics, lots of gears but you CAN'T get it to downshift! I know Nissan will try to engineer the ALtima CVT for good response. Yet, I am worried about Nissan's quality. After all, we are talking about Ghosn. He uprooted his whole company and sent them to Nishville, to save a few bucks. Who knows where Nissan has cut the corners here?
  4. yeah cuz the front ends of these popular cars are so attractive but this is horrible
  5. the shape of the rear taillight outlines are similar to the new Holden cars
  6. an accord and camry, neither have AWD, so why are you roasting it for that? i suppose if you go by the initial declaration of ralliart you will see its not 'fast and furious' wiki Funny how some will call this car unattractive...it's not the best...but yet no mention to confirm how ugly the current Malibu is. Malibu SS, less horsepower, 4 speed auto, pushrods, less warranty, less room, uglier, higher price. Just saying. at least the SS has a decent suspension and handling. no Fusion offers this much hp or room or sporting handling. the fusion is a good handler, but its not sporty.
  7. true, but it gots a nice big front overhang!
  8. so people can say when you drive by, "hey, there goes gramps!"
  9. a base G35 for 27 grand? I think not. Even the Malibu SS prices out as more than this thing.
  10. and call you a poseur when you look under the hood and only have 200hp at your disposal when you push the throttle. besides, let's stick to fwd sedans here.
  11. sit in both, the accord lacks width and rear leg room in comparison
  12. i have big time envy. cts sport is an awesome car. congrats!
  13. 40% higher mpg helps.
  14. edmunds gace the CX-9 a great review. too bad pontiac had no competitor for the cx-7 and cx-9.
  15. big time mazda3/6 vibe on those holden shots.
  16. no, 13.8 oh wait, sorry. wrong thread.
  17. Actually, the "keeps me calm" isn't a BS excuse. I am not addicted. I can stop MASTURBATING whenever I want. I have stopped MASTURBATING. I am not currently MASTURBATING. I have never MASTURBATED more than a few TIMES a day...and usually not MANY. I do not get cravings TO MASTURBATE. I truly MASTURBATE because occasionally it pleases me. Sorry, I was just comparing the two dirty filthy habits for a moment. Is it true your hand falls off if you smoke too much? wait, I don't think I have these two straight anymore......... If you must invest daily time in pleasing oneself for a habit, save the four bucks a day towards retirment and terminal lung cancer. Give up the heaters and if you really want to spend your time in a more efficient manner, just ramp up more on the nicotine patch and boxing the clown. Al least the rest of us won't be as disgusted be the gross stinky smell.
  18. cuz being an architect is so easy
  19. when i was researching cars with CVT's when i was deciding between CVT and 6 speed on my 500, i recall reading several owner reviews about how unimpressive the Murano CVT was. in contrast, in reviews most everyone said the Ford CVT was excellent. There are many 500 owners lamenting the lack of CVT in the upcoming duratec 35. The Murano CVT is not UNRELIABLE......is just is not great operationally yet. It lacks responsiveness and doesn't use the nissan's hp all that well and doesn't get great mpg is what i remember. But it is reliable supposedly. But Nissan claims to have addressed all this on the Altima's CVT. Plus isn't there a stepped mode in the Altima CVT?
  20. nav is optional, air curtains are std. in case youre keeping score its a 5 star car front and side and is among the highest rated sedans.I am not all that hip on the Aura. Its a good car but its just a well dressed up G6 and is deficient in interior room compared to this car. I do give Aura props for finally having a decent powertrain. For me Ralliart version looks better than the melted German aura look. The altima for 07 is probably a bit more enticing than this car overall, but lacks the better warranty and will be more expensive with v6. Ever price an Altima v6 once its loaded up? It gets pricey. That's why the base maxima exists. The Accord is vanilla and is smaller inside. If i wanted to drive a pansy accord then i would say to myself, I want to be a pansy. I'd be in casting for fast and furious 4, the adventures of VTEC. You won't get a v6 Passat with all this stuff for close to this price and its again smaller. I don't like the new Passat's interior design, although its execution is better. If i get a 27k list car I don't want a 200hp turbo with only 2 litres. Plus, quite honestly, the whole german styling thing is getitng old. I guess maybe the right accord EX v6 would work but i would die of boredom, but last i checked there was no accord in red like this. I mean, even if the honda is a decent car, its not like i'm a follower like all the other lemmings that drive an accord, just because its an accord or a honda.
  21. good writeup and quite accurate. I remember that my cobalt test drives, i felt it was a very good car! one point you touched on that is important is that ecotec equipped cars get tremendous gas mileage and often exceed EPA ratings. I recall one person who told me they surpassed 35 mpg often in their L200 saturn which is larger. Every Ecotec I have driven I have enjoyed because the car has great revvability and great power and torque everywhere. Yes, the Mazda 3 is the class of the field, but the Cobalt is darn good. I think Chevy needs to get the word out more on this car.
  22. well, you have to forgive all the young lads. they can only seem to concentrate on one thing, the need to stick their lightning rod into something.... and its clouds their judgement and impairs their ability to reason on pretty much everything else. it might even be why many women actually prefer older men...at some point in life a boy gets a clue....but only after dealing with responsilibilty over time and not always obsessing about where to stick the lightning rod. age too, even if you don't have children ever, at least over time you mature after having enough experiences in relationships....work, family, etc. its fair to critique aspects of your father's performance, but I would ask anyone who is pissing and moaning about their father overall to maybe just not spout off about it until they go through all the same things themselves. Then maybe a clue would be obtained about how life is not an easy textbook manuever. I have a sibling who holds a lifetime grudge against my parents. For what reason, I don't know. I feel its all manufactured in the interest of selfishness. People who believe its all about themselves need to understand one basic thing. We are all imperfect, and your ticket to coping in life is really two things.....managing your own imperfections first and then managing the impacts of others imperfections....and working together to coexist in light of the inevitable imperfections. I know too many people including a handful of really unhappy single friends who remain single because they simply have too high of expectations for others and are selfish. Now they are getting old and are still single and bitter because of it. Well, realize there are impections and bend a little, if you want to be happy. If you're nearing 40, maybe the light should be shining brighter......the light that says 'get it yet?'. I only go in this direction because many people have the same attitude about relatives and parents. They want those family members to be perfect or they will hate them.....well guess what....no one is perfect. So youngsters, cut your parents a LITTLE bit of slack next time. Unless you are one of the rare few who parents left you in your carseat at a roadside diner.
