my gosh people, shut the f-ck up on trashing the G6. first off, its better than the vehicles that many of you have in your own garage. second off, its affordable. some folks still have a chance at buying this car new. third, its a better car than many others, like for example a dodge avenger, etc. fourth, if any of you had driven thr triplets extensively in their most recent incarnations (malibu, g6, aura) you'd find out first hand that there is minimal actual difference in terms of performance. the 09 g6 i drove earlier this year with the 2.4/6 sp was as nice a drive as the malibu and aura. none of the 3 is deficient in desirability in driving behavior (the aura and g6 are a little more stiffly sprung but hardly noticeable to most people i think). The interior environment is the main basic differences between the three and pontiac is addressing it on this update. the new radio and cc is badly needed. the rest of the interior should have been redone completely but considering GM may be ass up soon i hope you will understand the reason why its not. and hey, it has a the corvette steering wheel now.....what is lame is the g6 did not get the paddle shifters in the lower trim.....unforgivable. you want to see a cheap interior? go sit in a current altima or some lower trim levels of the current accord. the g6 interior is no better or worse than half its competition. it could stand more improvements, but its not horrible when you consider the price you can buy one for. a g6 with light leather and tan door trim etc. is actually pretty nice. 5th, yes pontiac still outsells buick. if gm kills pontiac then gm does indeed deserve to die 6, again if you drove these cars with gxp trim or 2.4/6 speed trim you'd find its a nice fun car. i prefer the g6 to the sucks ass old version of the mazda6 and fusion, avenger sebring, and other asian products. cars like the passat are not worth the real world 6-8k price premium over this car if commuting is your main agenda. this car is not a bad car. is it a segment leader? probably not. is it a terrible car? my gosh no. pull your heads out of your ass and realize that for what is going on at GM right now and what this car gives for the money its not bad. the same malibu that gets 'all the awards' this is the same effing car mostly. your trashing of the car is based on fashion opinion. my friend the passat owner who now has a malibu co. car is saying now he will sell his passat because he likes the malibu just fine and thinks a good car. the g6 is the same car and the differences that have been made in the press that the g6 is a $h!ty car just isn't true. go drive one with the 2.4/6sp or the gxp and you will find that it is a good car with some nice new updates that can be had pretty reasonably in the right combos. the look is dated and not for everyone but if you do like it then you should not feel berated for owning or driving one when there are all sorts of sucks ass cars out there to pick from.

well, b00bs, alcohol, and maybe pizza, or nachos, or steak. Or BBQ pork sandwiches. dead serious though. At least for me, think of all the things you think about more than b00bies. Not much.

last trip to the toyota lot i recall, the yaris' were all best priced in the 15k plus range with some near 17. when i say this, i am talking with neccessary options like power windows and locks, and ABS, and air.

GM's brands should only be brands. Dealers should be able to sell any of the brands they want. But they should all be under one GM halo. My take is keep the brands and get rid of 'divisions'. Add or cut models as the market requires. GM's biggest problem is the dealer agreements. If GM dealers had the ability to sell all GM brands, then they would not need to cut any. If they could consolidate GM dealers to half or a third of what they are now, it would be a better customer experience and all the brands could remain. In that scenario, Pontiac could even thrive. It would be up to each dealer to prove which cars they can sell. GM would thrive best as GM SUPERSTORES.

yaris sells like mad and yet people won't buy astras. that alone makes me angry. to understand why i say that. astras and their discounts now can be cheaper than similar optioned yaris. why anyone buys a yaris over a cobalt or focus, too...........

i still think this is enough rope for GM to take back Saturn in full if the economy turns back to good quick fast enough.

been out of work over a month now. as we speak working on resume type stuff for an IV TOMORROW, but aside from that, no prospects for months I assume.

saab as a brand has so much potential. it pains me to see people buy toyotas and subarus and such and other makers lose their lunch.

maybe now i'll finally get that fricking astra XR for the damn price i want soon (assuming i ever find employment)

i will be shocked if Pontiac gets rid of the G6...honestly, it sells, making pontiac 'niche' is short for 'we don't have money to redo the dashbaord or add NVH tuning to the car so we will have to sell it unaltered for awhile and don't expect to sell bunches of them'....but trust me no BPG dealer in its right mind will want to lack the G6 in this segment in a sea showroom of blue hair cars. BPG needs one product to sell that has a chance of selling in volume to youths. another revelation in my mind which i think is very real. astra will be simultaneously sold in saturn and pontiac showrooms to amortize its intorduction, until saturn is figured out. current G5 cobalt goes away and next astra as a hatch is sold as a pontiac in addition to possibly a small buick version and a very stripped lineup of saturn astras. then if saturn totally dies they still have the pontiac and buick versions of this car selling and making it worth the intro. I am fuzzy on the Vibe. Logic says pontiac keeps it as long as they can but honestly this NUMMI BS has to leave NOW. Vibe would be better as a saturn. maybe part of saturns redo is pawning NUMMI off on them. Saturn Vibe? G8 stays. If GM had money they would add AWD to it, and they really should, but they won't. Solstice needs to stay (i like the sky a tish more). Hey maybe with a dead XLR we'll get a Caddy Kappa. -

FTW! thanks Viper....bringing that pic out of the vaults always makes for the BEST DAY EVER! but, for all those that scorn the SSE and the bonneville in general, between 89 and whenever, the bonneville was a HUGE seller. SSE sold like mad. -

yeah i've said this many times......its a total WTF are they thinking? GM instantly loses a buttload of the youth and performance market. racing buicks? autocrossing? buicks at the downtown coffee cafe? GM will be smart to keep pontiac lean but still around when they discover their big eff up and realize they need pontiac to sell to people below 50 anyone who likes things contemporary and not blue hair.
