  1. Nice interior update. base engine still weak. 3.0 on the V could stand to be the 3.6 tt also
  2. Finally making amends for their big mistake. yet, ^^^the gap you mention could be filled by rebadging the current Acadia. The smaller size did work better for some and that is a worthwhile market segment on its own. Just not the same sales volume. even Toyota has the Highlander and the Grand Highlander now.
  3. https://insideevs.com/news/671907/buick-electra-e4-unveiled-more-stylish-alternative-e5/
  4. Relatives in town. Came to visit with a rental from Hertz. New Chevy Bolt! 38 dollars a day evidently.
  5. I prefer the EUV due to actual room and space. I agree with those that would like an AWD option. I don’t really want to buy any cars in the future without AWD.
  6. https://gmauthority.com/blog/2023/07/images-of-next-gen-2025-chevy-equinox-activ-leaked-in-china/ REALLY liking this new potential Equinox. HUGE upgrade in styling. More rugged, some same cues as new Traverse. Put the 2.0 engine in it and i might actually be jiggy for it as consideration as next vehicle.....depending on interior
  7. LOVE LOVE LOVE THE EXCITEMENT !!!!!! of those style Pontiac interiors. still would be very desirable today, IMO. that and the Olds Aurora interiors. Plenty of good ventilation as well!
  8. gotta admit, i've warmed up to this and the Trax, especially after sitting in a Trax at the auto show. Still really dislike the piss pot engine and no all wheel drive. I tend to think AWD may get added in a year or two. People miss the point on whether it needs it or not. It's about whether customers want it. Here in the north, people want it on the option sheet, they want to get away from the stoplight easier, they want to get up their driveways easier. Dealers want it also. Why give even more sales to Subaru? Why do you think Nissan added AWD to the Altima option sheet. Why does an HRV have AWD? It's like the old days when RWD diehards complained and said, why do luxury sedans need AWD? And now, name me a luxury sedan brand that doesn't have AWD available or as its most available configuration? This is affordable, which is the key thing here. A Buick that may sell in larger volumes and keep the dealer's door open. Depending on the ways of the world and maybe when cheap leases come back maybe this is a daughter's first car choosing over the far too many on the roads Chevy version. Or maybe if i end up driving a lot for work again it could always be something i add to my stable. REALLY would prefer a 1.5t four cylinder in this though.
  9. mixed bag, better looking than the other ID's but still looking chunky and weird. These EV interiors with their horizontal dashboards, tacked on screens and weird consoles don't feel like some of the more driver oriented cockpit interiors we've gotten used to over the last couple decades or so.
  10. now with a better powertrain and having got used to the new design I am warming up to this. I even like the interior in this also. I do understand the lean concept of the Integra, but also wonder if an AWD setup as an option would get the power down better.
  11. a big style improvement over their 'thick' sedans.
  12. no v6. fail. design is fairly milquetoast as well.

  14. Interesting tidbit I found; which I suspected is true; being a northern snow state dweller. And it reminded me of the time I test drove the 2019 Malibu with CVT as a possible successor to my 2016 Malibu, before I ultimately got my Regal TourX. The salesman at that time said, people are interested in the Malibu until they find out they can’t get all wheel drive on it. Then they go straight to looking at an Equinox. https://www.autoblog.com/2019/03/14/2019-nissan-altima-awd-second-drive-review-gaining-traction/ “All-wheel drive is available only with the base 2.5-liter engine. While one could argue that the uplevel engine, a variable-compression 2.0-liter turbo, could really use four driven wheels to put its hearty 280 lb-ft of torque to the pavement, the standard engine is the choice of the vast majority of Altima buyers. Nissan product planners saw AWD as a mass-market feature — particularly in cold-weather states — rather than a niche item to enhance the performance of the most expensive models. That's a democratic notion and also appears to be shrewd business. ———-According to Bruce Pillard, head of marketing for the Altima, in the most recent month's sales figures nearly one in four Altima buyers chose all-wheel drive, and the take rate runs closer to 50 percent in northern states. (In Canada, the feature is standard.) “——— seems to be this is how you keep interest in the midsize sedans ah but you can’t mark them up as much I guess
  15. these little cars get good spa ratings with the smaller motors but in real world they struggle to get that mpg at 75 mpg on the interstate if the car is underpowered. A car like the Encore GX with just a bit more boost for those top end speeds like the 1.5 liter from the Terrain is likely to get same or better mpg on the highway and probably not any less in normal city driving either. Once the weight of the vehicle increases and the drag increases like it does with CUV's vs sedans, that has a bigger impact on fuel economy than anything. There were times I pulled 54 mpg over a 25 or 50 mile stretch in my 1.5 turbo Malibu in optimal conditions. But that was a sedan, low and aerodynamic with front drive only. The 1.5 was the best combo for high mpg on that car. On an all wheel drive, tall chunky crossover like the Encore, you see that the highway mpg is most often only a few mpg more than the city. The tiny 3 cylinder is working too hard at higher speeds to push that less aerodynamic, drag ridden ridden vehicle with that little displacement. In the real world a 1.5 would get the same mpg I bet. If less, maybe 1 mpg only.
  16. I could get behind the Encore GX more if it had the 1.5 litre four cylinder from the GMC Terrain in it. At least as an option. That would also probably get better real world MPG than the wheezer 3 popper.
  17. Love that Blazer interior; nice and simple but the use of the red color takes it out of all black dungeon status.
  18. finally, an all wheel drive Corvette. Now, can we get an All wheel drive Camaro? (I'd prefer the CT4 blackwing V6 + all wheel drive for that package)
  19. i could totally see where even a smaller 3 cylinder would make sense for that.
  20. i'd guess they'd use the turbo 2.0, even if its overkill. Stella seems to like to spread this 2.0 around a lot now.
  21. Got my Pacifica oil changed the other day. No Dodge Hornets in the showroom yet. Showroom all filled with Jeeps. Many, those interiors on the Grand Cherokee and Wagoneer are nice. Ram trucks too, interior nicer than the Chevy's by a lot. I'd seriously look at a Ram truck with a new Hurricane inline six engine in it instead of a Chevy turbo 4 and cheaper looking interior. Hope they get those Hurricanes in the Rams soon. If they legitimately redesign the Charger and Challenger, and put the Hurricane in those, that would immediately become something I would be interested in. Very curious and interested in the Hornet or Alfa Tonale. The Ram and Grand Cherokee in the showroom were the electrified one. One thing i learned in car sales, you put the cars in the showroom that look good but probably won't sell fast because you don't want to spend so much time getting them in and out. So i presume they had the electrified Ram and GC in there because they weren't selling hot.
  22. Yes there was a power difference, for sure.
  23. at that time I was looking for a small rig, I got the cobalt in 2010, so the Astra would have had similar power. 2009 Saturn Astra Performance All Astra models come with a 1.8-liter GM Ecotec 4-cylinder engine, an innovative and advanced design that produces 138 horsepower with 125 foot-pounds of torque.
