  1. I guess it would beat eating the dead members of the Donner party.
  2. Do you remember a board game named "Probe?" I was less than 10 and I was playing it with my brother and 2 of his Boy Scout friends. There were 12 letter slots available and I thought "cool, I'll use that word I just saw in Readers Digest." It was in an article on sex education and I had no clue what it meant. About 4 or 5 letters into it, they guffawed and "Oh, geez." The word was "masturbation" ... yep, 12 letters long. It was as that time that I learned what the word meant.
  3. I'm not SciGuy, and I'm not commenting on your age, but you definitely look "Eastern European!" more so than !!!Ted!!! Toronto is a kick, isn't it? Declared by the U.N. to be, per capita, the world's most multi-cultural city.
  4. highbrow
  5. I do that every waking minute of my life. And, majoring in architecture, I spent every waking minute trying to figure out why most of my classmates were such arrogant jerks!

  10. Didn't you see the "J/K" at the end of my post, Paolino? I LOVE the New York accent but can't tell the difference between B.B.Q./LI/NJ...it all seems the same, so I guess I need an education.Keep in mind that most of the Italians on "the coast" hail from your parts and our house had a revolving door of them. They would call our house looking for my mom: "Hallohhh, is Pwauline theah?" (sound of nails on chalkboard).

  14. I know some of the former but none of the latter.

  16. de-who?
  17. Spoken like a true sociology major (that's your path at UNC, right?). I guess I am only looking at the fun days of being a teenager in So. Cal. Some of the stories are better than most sitcoms. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

  20. Just rancid. Seriously, though, I LOVE racial humor. I grew in a less-edgy, more tolerant LA and we all grew up making fun of each other...in a non-hateful way. Idiosyncracies pertaining to certain groups are fairly accurate or people wouldn't pick up on them. You would hate my once-a-month quartet lunch crowd. A male architect from Montana State, a female architect from U Nebraska, a male drafter from Alaska and I go to our favorite pizza joint and do ethnic impersonations on the way to the place, while we eat and while we drive back and laugh until we cry. It's good stuff if it's not hateful. We are the only ones in the firm that do this ... so we have no choice but to hang out together when we are in this mood.
