    Hey, here's another tip...especially in California. If you rent from a NON-airport location, especially picking up on the weekend, you get REALLY good rates and there are less taxes. Basically, you can put another $10 to $20 in your pocket on a $225 rental. I shop relentlessly for the best rental car deals.

    I thought you would have liked that...the old 98s, the "rolling cathedrals," as I call them. But you do like the 75-76 GrandVilles, no?...they say roomy, well-proportioned and competent, but with a sportier Pontiac personality and styling cues. I especially liked the coupe with a landau and rallye wheels. I'd feed the 400 or 455 if I could manage to drive less.

    Right! Whether or not it was a hybrid, a new Fusion was next to me for a while I was driving on a major boulevard here. What a great looking car and what a sensible arrangement. This model, together with the new Taurus, are competitors for the new Volt, partly because the Fusion and the Taurus are proven perfomers. People will have a lot of questions about the viability of the Volt. However, I hope it does well. Damn, the auto world is so Darwinian.
