I'm amazed people pay money for Lutz's insights, when they can freely obtain ideas of similar worth at any conveniently located rest home.

Tesla CEO Defends Model S After Consumer Reports Downgrade
FAPTurbo replied to William Maley's topic in Tesla
You're arguing with an individual whose sole hangup is the powertrain, preferring a propulsion method littered with complexities and a ~20% average efficiency for reasons that are purely emotional and visceral. FWIW, 97% of Tesla owners would buy one again, which is also mentioned in the same CR survey. There are companies that'd do terrible things (like cheating emissions tests) to get that kind of love.- 64 replies

Why did Constantinople get the works?

GM's had terrible rankings in Consumer Reports for ages and Cheers and Gears told me it was "media bias/domestic hate/liberals/tree-huggers/insert-convenient-idiot-conspiracy-here. But Tesla hits a bump and it's OH NOES. On a similar note:

They did. It was called the ELR and it sits on lots for 30K off sticker price. -

Clearly the mad rush to debut electric cars and beat Tesla is in no way related to Tesla. It must be hard hating what you can't have. -

Tesla did it. They've open-sourced everything needed and provided the necessary leadership for standardized infrastructure. -
Shame it's FWD. Normally I don't care much for that stuff but it does put the Continental at a spec-sheet deficit and relegates it to the same class as the XTS, which isn't exactly a hot seller.

The Miata is the best. It's number one. Do you not make supportive posts commemorating firefighters? Do YOU downvote firefighters, bro?!

I hope this is just a temporary setback. This place got pretty rowdy during Pontiac's death, GM's bankruptcy and the US 08/12 elections, and yet managed to continue being relatively mod-free during those times. Some of the website's best discussions and hijinks took place during those times. I'd hate to see that stuff quashed.

Another year, another list demonstrating that the MX-5 is the best, it's number one.

US keeps electing the wrong sort to Washington. Send folks up there that will pass legislation lowering education standards the children can readily adhere to.

The MXP is sold directly by Motorola without any version variance and without any carrier intrusion, similar to the Nexus devices. Updates are supposed to occur within a quick timeframe. Last year's Moto X got Android 5 before the Nexus 5 and the 2013 model got Android 4.4 before everyone else. But some 2013 models belonging to Verizon have been hamstrung, likely due to the carrier.

Got a Moto X Pure last week and I like Motorola's take on stock Android. The camera's pretty good for the price too.

"Numbers Game That Doesn't Add Up:" R&T Tests Shelby Super Snake
FAPTurbo replied to El Kabong's topic in Industry News
Anyone spending 100K on a Mustang (or Camaro or Challenger) deserves disappointment. -
Fuel prices may affect sales of lower priced EV's like the Leaf, Bolt and Soul EV. But when you buy a Tesla, fuel price isn't a primary consideration - people who buy Tesla's can easily afford to fuel a comparably priced/sized old-world car - the perceived luxury and future-looking tech are. It's similar in some ways to Apple's products.

That image gives me a better idea: Only people with mod/admin may vote. We'd be Roman emperors meting out thumbs up's/down's to the plebs fighting for our amusement.
