  1. I use Open Office too, and it's a great utility that plays nice with most Microsoft Office file formats. Best of all, it's Open Source, meaning is modified, and updated by volunteers, and people from companies like Sun, and IBM. However, if you really want the newest Microsoft Office, you can find torrents on IsoHunt; you will also need software like uTorrent, which is free. I would not recommend downloading an illegal copy not only because it's illegal, but also because a lot of that software could be riddled with all sorts of spyware, and viruses.
  2. I don't mind the odd political interlude, as long as it's civil, and people bring interesting points to the debate. I'm always happy to read other people's opinions, because I like to keep an open mind, and not be tied with one ideology, etc. Other forum's political discussions all seem to disintegrate really fast though, with maturity thrown out the window.
  3. I tuned in to the DNC to watch history in the making. I'll be tuning in to the RNC for the hot women!
  4. It's the same deal with the Prius, though. I can't understand how people could fork over 30K Canadian for something that makes the Corolla look plush.
  5. It's kinda underwhelming, but the pictures aren't too great either. I still wish it'd look a bit more like the concept.
  6. capman, and siegen just out-nerded us all. 8-[
  7. Happy Birthday!
  8. 1.8 Intel Centrino GeforceGo 6600 1GB RAM 100GB HD It's a great machine, but I regret thinking dual cores were a load of bull$h!, and buying a single core. PCS, I thought you had one of those HP Blackbirds?

What are C&G'ers playing these days? I've been playing a game called 'Combat Arms' which is free, and pretty awesome, and spares my 2005 laptop from being engulfed in flames courtesy of nVidia. But I may look for something new. Any suggestions?
  10. God I can't wait to see these on the road. It just oozes class. <3<3

They've done some updates, including what looks to be advertising guidelines for the Phenom FX's, but still no confirmations of their speeds.

Yeah, I'm a bit disappointed, but then again, it looked too good to be true. Real shame, because I like the 'Spider' platform concept, and was considering building an AMD/ATI combo in the not-too-distant future. The good news though, is that AMD is unloading its TV-chip unit, which will help in restructuring.
  17. Audi offers premium 4-cylinders, so it'd be great to see Cadillac try and match them at their game. As long as GM offers a choice, then I am all for this.

I've been looking a bit for other articles to confirm this, but I've come up empty handed.
  19. It's a very handsome truck; I'm really looking forward to seeing one in the flesh. Here's hoping it does Chrysler well because they need all the help they can get.
  20. I find it weird that people are paying so much attention to 'domestic drilling' , and not Obama's rejection of 'dirty oil' , especially because a massive percentage of America's energy comes Alberta's oil sands.

It could be where they have the integrated memory controller in their new 'Nehalem' (Core i7) processors. AMD has had it for years, but it's a big deal for Intel because it means that it'll eliminate AMD's last real competitive advantage. They are also working on 'Larrabee' , which is going to be a dedicated graphics solution that will rival nVidia's, and AMD/ATI's offerings.

AMD's really gotten a good game going with their products, especially with that 4870X2, and the rest of the R700's. I can't wait to see if this is true.
  23. That is AWESOME! I'd totally rock that.
  24. Congratulations! I don't think anyone could get a better 'first ride' than a Toyota Camry. It's reliable, well-built, and it ain't gonna go too fast.
