  1. Hard to recall stuff that is 10-15 years, they already have the bugs worked out and a recall for their less than workable sync system does not affect safety. That is why we do not see their bleeding edge performance auto's or anything of any real excitement here. They only import what has been fixed and works from Europe. Poor Europeans have to deal with the recalls. You do not see much of our recalled stuff over seas. Once they work out the bugs on the American public then they take it over seas and you have strong followers as they never see all the mistakes. Japan and Korea does this also. Test new stuff on the local public before exporting it to sell elsewhere.

  3. Reuters reports that the Fiat CEO at a conference on Wednesday was being bluntly honest when he said do not buy the 500e. To quote the CEO; "We loose $14,000 on each 500e we sell." He went on to state that they would sell the minimum required to keep selling their auto's in the US and in states like California. He also went on to say that by 2025 3/4 of the auto's they sell will be Hybrids to meet the Governments mandated MPG fuel requirements. The full story was published here: http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/05/21/chrsyelr-ceo-evs-idUSL1N0O71MS20140521?feedType=RSS This story makes me ask the following question. If people keep saying that Electric Auto's are outselling the early days of Hybrids, then why are there not more electric auto's? We see a growing list of auto's with the option of CNG or Hybrid.
  4. To Quote the New Owner, Plenty of Money. They will need to get the assembly line back up to spec, line up the suppliers, get workers hired and trained and the list goes on. Be interesting to see if they can get a car out of the plant in 12 months.

  6. Toyota should have done this with the FJ Cruiser in the beginning when they were not holding up to the 4x4 off road capabilities they said the auto could do. They should have taken back the bad ones and replaced them with new ones rather than weld in place structural steel beams in the Unibody system increasing weight. I would not accept this auto back and would want a refund.
  7. Many who said negative things at the Seattle Auto show last year about Buick were holding old history and when they test drove the Encore they came back surprised and excited. I see more Encores on the Highway around here than Mini's or many other compact CUV's. At least here it seems to have hit the right note.
  8. Volvo WHO?????? Marketing, Auto's that people would like to own and something that inspires. Really they will always be a Niche player. See if they survive past 2025
  9. Agreed, Will be interesting to see the quality of the Jeep Renegade as it could either be a big hit for them or a total flop. Personally I have mixed feelings about the little brute as the more people that see it the more I hear of how ugly it is. I hope this is NOT a Jeep version of the Fiat 500 that ends up sitting on the lots.
  10. GM did this when Saturn sent out a shipment of auto's with the wrong fluids in place. GM exchanged the auto's and crushed the cars to make sure they did not stay in the market place and give Saturn a bad name. Good move by Nissan.
  11. True but then the Communist party will dump money into it to try and buy their way to justification for their system and world domination. The whole reason China has succeeded is due to their hybrid Communist system where russian keeps looking to the past for their glory and not changing with the times. Russia could have easily had someone there buy this up and invest to make a go of it, but they do not know how to really make capitalist companies grow and I hope this guy has the business chops to make it grow and succeed as I only see a money pit bleeding red.
  12. Pictures posted for your review and input.
  13. I have to disagree with you totally on this. Many who could afford a Chevy have gone to Hyundai to get more for their money. Yet plenty of people love the Encore and the sales seem to support that. Have you even sat in one or test drove it?
  14. Sorry that the bottom Picture of the HUD is fuzzy. I only had my Samsung note with me to use to take pictures. Bottom Picture of the HUD is the indicator saying your Valet Limiter is on. It seems to lock the auto down so you cannot go very fast or far in it and you cannot seem to make any other changes to the dash or settings. I like this feature to protect your auto from being taken on a joy ride.
  15. Buick Encore Kick's the Mini's Butt and they still have one of the highest bugs per 100 auto's built. They have yet to realize they are not the only game in town. I cannot fit into a mini, but I can into an Encore if I had to get an inner city auto to drive it would be an Encore.
  16. Here are my pictures, Was able to add them to one of my past folders.
