  1. Awesome as always but I see the Baby Duramax Colorado or Canyon in your future.
  2. WRONG - Do not pass go, Do not collect $200. The Durango had problems as a full size for the second generation but the first and the 3rd or current Durango are a success and this was way before Fiat really got involved. After this generation then you can blame Fiat if the Durango go south. But right now the current Durango and if they built a Hybrid like the Volt on the Durango would be a success.
  3. Totally agree with this, it is only a matter of time before the union controlled FIAT will die. They are terrible quality controlled products forced on the world to just accept and deal with it. One has to wonder what sane person wants a car the size of a golf cart with the crash worthy ness of a brown paper bag. No one that values quality of life of loved ones, friends and family would risk people in these subcompacts. For all the Green tree huggers that talk about saving the world, what is the price you put on the life of a loved one or what I would call quality of life in living if you have to be in a wheel chair or rely on others to do things for you.

  5. Interesting, makes one wonder if they will call him to testify before congress on if he knew about it. I would think with all the paperwork requested that they should be able to say who knew about it and who did not. I can tell you that many middle executives are not aware of issues in a company that are outside their scope of control or responsibility. I truly do not think she knew about this issue just like most of America did not know till this came to light.
  6. Funny for the repost of this, guess I should have posted my original on this in the Fiat news rather than the Italians. http://www.cheersandgears.com/topic/83314-sergio-marchionne-says-do-not-buy-500e-we-loose-money/#entry745715 My question still stands, if Electric is so much better, then why do we not see more and better options for pure electric and yet CNG is growing with a ton of choices? Second question is the debate over the green house gas production and the toxic waste from the battery creation. Is it better to produce these battery packs with their toxic waste from production and large initial green house gas output or burn some alternative fuel?
  7. WOW, I do not like or think very highly of the Ford New Trucks and yet this dinosaur makes the Fords look luxury level. What an old out of date beast. I agree for the asking price, this is way over priced.
  8. What kind of trees? They are heavy with fruit it looks like. Grapefruit...I have orange trees in the back, palm trees front and back. My whole neighborhood used to be an orange grove. Awesome, talk about keeping a high level of Vitamin C around to keep the colds away!

  10. Yes, named after a wonderful fighter plan. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F6F_Hellcat Was the workhorse of the WWII war with Japan.
  11. On a LinkedIn forum for fleet sales this same question was posted about the crazy increase in truck prices from all manufactures and the GM response was that due to the ever increasing Gov requirements for safety features it is pushing auto prices higher and higher. The interesting consistent response was that businesses and most consumers are not asking for these features. Select small groups of forcing increased cost on the consumers with features that have little affect on preventing accidents. So we must question if the gov is really doing the right job by forcing us to have to wear seat belts, have backup cameras, lane avoidance warnings, auto braking etc.. Whose responsibility is it to make sure our kids are not playing behind an auto that causes them to get run over, or someone who is more interested in texting rather than driving. Our school and Mass transit buses have NO SEAT BELTS and yet we are forced to wear seat belts or face a fine of $124 plus a hit to your insurance rates. Yes I know seat belts save lifes but is it the gov's job to make us wear them through intimidation and forced penalties? Where do we draw the line of what the gov should be saying we have in auto's and what are options for purchase. Do green groups or select mom groups should be mandating safety features?
  12. CNG will be the saving grace for Muscle / performance auto's. With 130 Octane and the ability to fuel from your home for $1 a gallon, that is where true performance / Muscle car owners will go. Buy it, convert to Pure CNG and enjoy the fun.
  13. Amazing and yet sad all at the same time.
  14. Very cool and much cheaper than a new car payment.
  15. G. David Felt Alternative Fuels & Propulsion writer www.CheersandGears.com It seems the dirty laundry of other car companies is coming to light as people dig into the history of the EV movement. GM joined the lawsuit with other automobile manufacturers and oil industry to successfully kill the early laws that California passed to promote electric vehicles. In turn, GM killed its EV1 project. All the bad publicity surrounded the death of the EV1 ignores so many other automobile manufacturers which also worked to kill off the EV movement of the nineties. As GM took the brunt of the heat for shredding all its EV1 autos, Honda also silently killed off its Honda EV Plus electric cars. Honda manufactured approximately 340 EV Plus vehicles between 1997 and 1999. Subsequently, all the manufactured EV Plus vehicles were shredded. Honda was the first auto manufacturer to use NiMH batteries compared to GM's use of Lead Acid batteries. The full story and write up is here on EV.com web site along with a very interesting video. You can move the video to 16:50 to see the EV Plus taken to be destroyed. http://ev.com/honda-ev-plus-shredded-like-gms-ev1/
  16. Beautiful car and love the engine. Nice to see they learned a thing or two from the Corvette Supercharged V8 engine. Be interesting to see it in person. Hopefully with a proper tuned exhaust that has the low powerful V8 Sound, not that spit throwing wine in the other thread.
  17. Cool, thanks for the update, keep us informed as to what the code actually meant. Would be interested to know if you just had bad fuel or what.
  18. NOT IMPRESSED! That is one of the WORST tuned exhaust ever. Hopefully the engine performs better than that joke of an exhaust system.
  19. FAILURE!, That video did NOTHING to convince me to buy a Volvo. Clearly out of touch with consumers.
  20. Very interesting, I wonder how they will hold up to the weight of 18 wheelers and accidents between auto's.
  21. Very true, it is a turd and I worry that the Jeep Renegade will end up the same way.
  22. Old White Plymouth Fury. Tried to catch up and get a picture but he went the other way from where I was going. Amazing to still see one of these box's on wheels.
  23. G. David Felt Alternative Fuels & Propulsion writer www.CheersandGears.com BMW's launch of the i3 and i8 meant the end of life for most of the BMW pre-production EV's that were launched in 2010. One car sharing service got 70 but the bulk of the auto's were crushed since they were tagged as pre-production and not certified for resale. Strange how we do not hear people crying out about the BMW's auto's but then maybe since BMW had their production versions ready to move these people to unlike GM with the EV1's it is getting little attention. I am sure there are still a few Teary Eyed leasers who had to return their ride but can now at least buy a more luxury golf cart version. We need to get BMW to loan one to Cheers and Gears so we can do a proper evaluation of these auto's. Per the story posted here: http://transportevolved.com/2014/05/23/history-repeats-bmw-openly-crushes-active-e-electric-car/ Original photo posted on Facebook in the Chevy VOLT forum: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10203843828880189&set=gm.797427043603256&type=1&theater
