Paris Motor Show: Ferrari 458 Speciale Drops Its Top
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
NOT Impressed!, Corvette is so much better. This car first from the front looks like a Giant stepped on it. The back end looks like a Chef cut it off with a large blade and then stuck on some after thought rear tail lights. Interior Dash is just hideous and the over all layout makes me shake my head. The Steering wheel clearly came out of a Nintendo game. Guess for gamers of Nintendo, Xbox and PS4 they will love it. Pass on this over priced Garbage and what is with the Pathetic Engine? GM makes better V8's with at least the Torque almost equal to or surpasing the HP of the engine.- 1 reply

G. David Felt Alternative Fuels & Propulsion writer www.CheersandGears.com In looking at my other love , BIG RIGS, I came across this video online and found more info from Walmart about their new WAVE Semi. http://blog.walmart.com/the-future-of-fleet-efficiency Walmart has teamed up with Peterbilt, Great Dane Trailers and Capstone Turbine to create a modern 21st century Semi. The new Carbon Fiber truck is 20% more aerodynamic than a standard semi and with 6000 trucks on the road daily, this alone reduces fuel use by a large factor. The great thing about the Turbine motor is that it can run on Diesel, LNG, CNG or Bio-Diesel. The all in one vehicle system combines the outside aerodynamics with the advanced control system, microturbine-hybrid powertrain and electrification. The benefits in testing of this truck is the ability to ship 40% more merchandise over a conventional trailer, reduce cost by 24% and emissions by 14% according to the details released by Walmart. Benefits of the WAVE Truck: Center sitting like an F1 race car driver Customizable LCD screens to monitor what the driver feels is important Large weight savings, 4000lbs lighter in just the trailer alone with the all carbon fiber trailer Turbine Green Fuel Hybrid powertrain Convex trailer nose adds merchandise storage space in trailer while reducing air drag Comfortable modern size sleeper Sliding drivers doors

So cruzing through the media.gm.com web site, I saw this update on the Chevy AppShop story which shows that GM has now signed Apple and Google to make the connection so that GM auto's will have a touch screen and you can choose to have the Apple Interface with Apple App Store or an Andriod Interface with Google Play store for your in Auto Touch screen Navigation with constant updates and apps. I am very excited still and while sad that it has been delayed from this fall to next year, I think this will be a superior way for GM to go as the existing DVD nav system get outdated to fast. http://media.gm.com/media/us/en/gm/news.detail.html/content/Pages/news/us/en/2014/Jan/0105-gm-appshop.html There was also this follow up story released this week on Editorial MSN about this with a picture of the concept dash shown at the CES (consumer electronic show). http://editorial.autos.msn.com/blogs/post--apple-google-to-provide-gm-infotainment-apps?_blg=2 or http://www.wired.com/2013/01/ces-2013-ford-gm-app-developers/ Story on what Apples version looks like http://editorial.autos.msn.com/blogs/post--apple-to-unveil-carplay-infotainment-system-in-geneva Story on Google versions http://editorial.autos.msn.com/blogs/post--android-auto-enters-smartphone-dashboard-war I do love this picture from the working car version that Chevy showed at the show this year. This morning on MSN / MotorTrend they had the story "15 optional enginese worth buying"! http://editorial.autos.msn.com/15-optional-engines-worth-buying?icid=autos_5982 The end result was the following list: Audi A6 - Upgrade to the TDI V6 Buick Regal - Upgrade to the Turbo I4 {they state this is German Entry Lux alternative worth the money} Ford Fiesta - Upgrade to Ecoboost Turbo I3 Jaguar F-Type - Upgrade to Supercharged V8 from Supercharged V6 Kia Optima - Upgrade to Turbo I4 Subaru Impreza - Upgrade to WRX VW Golf - Upgrade to the GTI Jeep Grand Cherokee - Upgrade to 3L EcoDiesel V6 over regular V6 Mazda CX-5 - Upgrade to Skyactiv 2.5L I4 Lexus IS 250 - Upgrade to 350 Ford F-150 - Upgrade base to 2.7L EcoBoost V6 option Ram 1500 - Upgrade base engine to 3L EcoDiesel V6 Dodge Challenger SRT - Upgrade to Hellcat as cost is only $63 per pony. Cheap MB SL63 AMG - Upgrade to SL65 Chevy Camero SS - Upgrade to Z28 or LT1 So with this list of optional engine upgrades that they feel you should do, I felt it was a great conversation to have here as there are plenty of other auto's not mentioned here that have optional engines that should be done also. Sound off on what auto's you feel should be had with the optional engines!

It could be a defect in the actual tire itself. I know at Discount Tire, they can actually tell you if the tire is really off or if the rim is damaged so they have a harder time balancing the wheel. At the same time, it might not be the Wheel or ball joints but a bad shock or a bad steering box if you are feeling it in the steering wheel. I have had to deal with those issues.

So in other words, they got a talking head with no real passion about the auto product line or any real knowledge of the auto's and use cases by the end users.- 9 replies

Cadillac News: Cadillac's Upcoming Flagship Has A Name: CT6
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
Using Series makes far more sense to me a 46 year old Cadillac lover than the CT crap that I feel cheapens the line. Taking nothing away from Corvette, but you have a C6 corvette and now you want a CT6 100K lux sedan? This cheapens the branding to me, does not help it.- 113 replies

That interior looks so cheap in the pictures, it better be upscale in real life as the pictures make it look like a plastic wanna be ricer race car! -

Cadillac News: Cadillac's Upcoming Flagship Has A Name: CT6
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
So eventually the ATS and CTS will die as they are replaced like what? ATS = CT3 CTS = CT5 What about the SRX & Escalade? What does CT stand for? Cadillac Tempest? So far I am not impressed with the new head of Cadillac. His rebadge of Infinity hurt sales and confused everyone. I wonder about Cadillac with this moron at the head. Seems to be no imagination other than to follow what what done by the Germans. Car and Driver had more info including a note about Cadillac becoming a stand alone division and moving to NY. http://blog.caranddriver.com/you-dont-mess-with-the-johan-cadillac-names-new-flagship-ct6-future-products-to-follow-new-naming-strategy/ This statement is concerning "we’re certain “Escalade” will remain in place, even if de Nysschen can’t figure out why people keep buying them." Following the mention of that in the story and it takes you to the following story: http://blog.caranddriver.com/new-york-state-of-mind-cadillac-to-move-hq-to-nyc-become-standalone-business-unit/ Seems GM wants Cadillac to become a Global Stand Alone Brand and so will have a seperate HQ in New York City to allow freedom of growth and design. Anyone have any other info on this?- 113 replies

Paris Motor Show: 2015 Mercedes-AMG C63

SMK will love this and sing their praises. Yet over all it is just an average looking car. Nothing special for an AMG badge. Sad. -
In reading through the MSN/MotorTrend auto section today there was an interesting write up on the new Nissan GTR and how it will be a hybrid. Complete story here: http://preview.msn.com/en-us/autos/enthusiasts/nissan%E2%80%99s-next-gt-r-details-emerge/ar-BB5nNfe Current GTR Concept GTR MotorTrend rendering I have to say I really like the MotorTrend rendering of the potential new GTR.

Colorado and Canyon 4 cyl FE numbers released!
G. David Felt replied to 2QuickZ's's topic in General Motors
Reminds me of how Dodge talked up their V6 for the Dakota and yet the V8 actually was more fuel efficient than the V6 even with Manuel trans in 1998. I agree that the V6 is the more impressive engine choice here even at a 1200+ cost. The best way to go. -
Very Cool, wishing you all the best.

Infiniti News: Paris Motor Show: Infiniti Q80 Inspiration
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Infiniti
While some aspects of the car are interesting and do not follow the lead of other luxury makers, the car over all body of a coupe style is the same ol design. Boring and been there. -
OK, I am building my Colorado to see what it would come in as and I am shocked by one thing, it offers Rear Wheel Liners to keep the bed clean and reduce noise and dirt. I know the Chevy Luv trucks of the 70's did not have wheel liners but I remember seeing them on all trucks after that. Is GM going backwards in exposing the metal bed to noise rock chips and rust out just to save a couple bucks? $165 is a small price to pay but at the same time this seems stupid to not have them on the trucks by default! I love the premium Green color, but am shocked by some of the nickle and dime items that GM is charging for that I feel should be standard on a truck in the 21st century.
