  1. Interesting, so if you take out the Chrysler 300 that brand is pretty much dead. The avenger and Viper sales loss is what has the dodge group at only 3% gain, take those two out and you have a much larger sales gain. Viper should be in a category by itself as the sales decline affects over all sales percentages so much for such a small volume auto. Fiat is in emergency and bleeding heavily. If it was not for the 500X, it would be on the death bed. Once people see that the 500X is just as poorly built as the rest of the lineup, I expect this to go farther down. Fiat is a lost cause due to lack of product and poor quality just like the last time it was in the US. Alfa, should have stayed in the history books.
  2. I agree with what is being stated here, there will be a loss of performance and fuel economy which is what I see the lawsuits focusing on in addition to the loss of value. I would hope that VW for those that have the DEF solution would get bigger tanks to hold more so they do not have to fill up so often. In regards to the others, hopefully they can add a def solution to make them legal, otherwise buy back the auto, crush it and give the customer a new one that is legal. Now while this would be a huge cost, they could build good customer karma by taking a page out of the Saturn Play book. Many years back, Saturn shipped about 15,000 cars that had parts manufactured that had metal shavings left on them and could cause failure down the road, not injury failure but mechanical failure that would cause the engine to be replaced or rebuilt. As such they swapped out for each customer a new Saturn for the old one. Then they took them and crushed them. I remember this as a coworker who had put almost 24K miles on his in the first year by the time Saturn did this swap was so happy he traded in his other auto and bought another Saturn. Yes this cost GM, but it also bought a very loyal customer. VW, needs to look at how to turn this around into saving customers long term.
  3. I get the point your making Fap, and would agree with you for the most part except in regards to the apple product, I find their products to be overpriced toys, not real tools. Excluding engineers who actually can use Apple, Linux or WIndows to do real work, most apple users seem to be more confused by technology than able to embrace it. Apple does not come across to me as future-looking as much as for the simpleton that does not want to have to think.
  4. So the big question is with the price of fuel being low, how will this affect the sales of EV auto's? As a distributor of CNG fueling products for home and business use, I can say that sales have dropped off totally, been dead the last few months in fact. So one must wonder about electric, if the low fuel prices will hurt that more or not.
  5. I have NO PROBLEM with this bump in the road for GM. Prove everyone wrong that you have a Green awesome little Duramax and then shove it up their bum with stellar sales!
  6. I've already been seeing web ads for attorneys these past few days. Actually, so have I. Sleazy scum in most cases, I would hope a judge would require this to all be wrapped up into a class action lawsuit rather than multiple little ones that will draw things out.
  7. Sounds like the Lawyers are lining up to file lawsuits on the 11 million owners of Diesel VW/Audi/Porsche owners who just saw their car value plummet!
  8. Who ever said Motor Trend could build let alone sell anything of quality. After all it is a Magazine company.
  9. Will not matter much as we have seen extreme greed and still after prison they get out and still have millions to live very comfy. They need to take the CEO's take EVERYTHING from them and return them to the public as a poor person who has to work to support themselves. I agree being fired and leaving with a 30 million bonus is not right.
  10. GM should use their skateboard concept for a battery pack and then put in a large ass electric and let the good times silently fly by. 200 to 250 miles with a electric engine that has 1000lbs of torque and 500 hp and can just spin away and boom, death to mustangs and challengers all over.
  11. Not sure why, I am usually always a fan of auto's even little sports cars but this just is ugly to me and not very inspiring.
  12. So still an ugly little POS.
  13. OUCH, Now it seems VW and Tesla are affected with the airbag issue also. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-09-28/u-s-regulator-considers-order-to-expand-takata-air-bag-recalls This is going to kill the Takata company I think.
  14. Yup, Bloomberg is reporting 2.1 million auto's affected by Audi! http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-09-28/audi-says-2-1-million-diesel-cars-affected-by-emissions-software
  15. According to this Bloomberg report, Mercedes-Benz is overstating the MPG on their auto's with MPG exceeding 50% on their new A, C & E class auto's. This report by Brussels-based Transport & Environment also seems to imply that Mercedes-Benz also has a NOx problem with their own diesel fleet. Mercedes-Benz is pushing for a universal world wide light vehicle test procedure that would measure tail pipe emissions and MPG / MPK so that a single standard is built for the world wide market that they would like to take place in 2017.
  16. About time, the EPA should be real world testing the auto's rather than using preset levels under preset conditions that do not relate to real life. If the EPA tested all auto's I doubt they would find more than a 1/3 of them that actually produce the stated MPG on the sticker.
  17. WOW, thanks for posting the links to the stories, if Banks are putting a stop on funding of sales / leases and buying up VW auto loans / leases, this could be very hard for VW. On top of Bosch telling them this software would be legal for testing on R&D but not for production. Someone inside made a HUGE mistake. OUCH!
  18. By the same token, I can't believe the Lincoln Navigator... aw, forget it. You know I'm a FoMoCo guy but that right there is funny! Hahahahaha OMG that's great! You want a great use for Urinal pucks? You can get them pressed with just about any emblem in them. At the Husky Football games, people will bring in urinal pucks with the Oregon Ducks or Beavers image pressed into them and put them in the bathrooms. So then you can pee on a Duck or Beaver. Yup, College Football rocks! Course I could see having them made with peoples images on them and people having them there to pee on. LOL
  19. I have to agree with what you have stated. In regards to TV / Movies, I like Home Theater, but I do not have TV, so no I do not watch TV shows or much of anything. Pretty much enjoy working out with the wife, doing activities with my 28 year old son or 32 year old daughter. Travel and of course work in the computer industry. In regards to the Politicians, I think ALL City, County, State and Fed workers should be rolled over into Social Security and Medicaid and be part of the same system that the working folks of this country are in. Term limits for all politicians like the president, Senate and house only get two 4 year terms and back to the private sector. In regards to what Balthazar has posted about lighted hood emblems, I think this is an outstanding idea especially with LEDs now being able to be well built and controlled on light output. I think auto companies could do some very cool things to promote their logo. I HATE auto dealers that have to put their own stickers on a car they just sold. That is a deal killer for me. They are not paying me to advertise their dealership.
  20. Looks like an Infinity with a Maserati Badge slapped on it. Can you say tiny tires with oversize sheet metal? Over priced, over rated garbage that will sell due to badge snobs.
  21. The start of a cleaning of the house, reduction in the number of highly paid executives, managers, etc. and a reorganization that will allow VW/Audi/Porsche to reduce cost even more is what I think will happen along with the single pane of glass visibility to wine over folks.
  22. And this is just the beginning of the Purge to dump high salary folks, restructure the company and purge excessive costs to get VW/Audi/Porsche even more profitable if done right.
  23. G-Wagon, one of the oldest Pieces of Sh$t MB still makes and barely sells. Must be the military contracts and the idiots that pay crazy amounts for them as a few hundred a month does not justify the support.
