I think VW would be helping themselves and creating thousands of Ambassadors by doing a proper high Blue Book buyback program that would get the illegal auto's off the road and get these customers into a new ride that would make everyone happy. What do they do to replace cars that were getting 40-50mpg though? I mean I know if I did the commute my buddy does I would be a little upset knowing my, even though it would be brand we, new Jetta can't touch the mpg my TDI could. Would they give them X dollars to spend elsewhere? I know that sounds ridiculous but at the same time they did kind of con the consumer into buying them anyway. I have yet to see any VW TDI actually get 40-50 mpg compared to the Hybrids like the VOLT or Prius. I know the diesel can hit the 30-s to low 40's but that has been it. If the EPA says to buy them back, I assume you will get a payout or can deal with suing VW. It really is all up in the air right now and it will be interesting to see comes out of the negotiations on dealing wth this.

Very sweet write up. In thinking about the auto, other than the nav and the seem on the dash and the regular hinges, anything else stick out as a wish they had done this better? Agree with you that the V6 AWD would be the best version to get IMHO. Look forward to the pictures.

Chevrolet News:What is the Future of the Chevrolet SS?
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
SS Halo 4 door Sedan with V8 very well could live on as a special edition auto based on a frame used by Cadillac, Buick, etc. They very well could keep the SS going as long as it helps to reduce costs and breaks even or even makes a profit, a small one at that.- 105 replies

Hello McFly, You cannot fix all the auto's, buy them back and get those stinking, smoking polluting auto's off the road. END of STORY! I truly believe VW will end up fixing those that can but have to buy back the rest. Crusher / recycling here they come. Not like there is any auto here that is really worth saving from a history standpoint, most of the polluting ones are just basic transportation.

So you can now get your own Trans Am Bandit edition signed by Burt Reynolds. Seems a company purchased the naming rights and all things Trans Am and are now producing 840 HP Trans Ams from the latest Camaro. 2016 Trans Am Bandit Edition signed by Burt Reynolds.

So they are just doing putting out the same cars with different skins. Sounds about right. This is what will lead to both MB and BMW ending up loosing their luxury status as they become a true Chevy, Ford or Dodge to the US market. They are loosing that Luxury status as now they are just an anyone auto. Why bother buying an auto that anyone can have? Poor fit n finish and reliability to boot.

LOL, you could not tell that in Seattle, the amount of STI and EVOs on the road here is crazy. Maybe a High Tech Young Engineer thing BMW and MB cannot touch these cars with the young engineering crowd. -
Interesting is all the projects ARPA is overseeing that is researching into the whole RANGE issue for batteries: http://www.arpa-e.energy.gov/?q=programs/range Interesting is that Chevy is considered one of the best systems out there. http://www.arpa-e.energy.gov/?q=arpa-e-programs/range To quote from this article: Program Description: The projects that comprise ARPA-E's RANGE Program, short for "Robust Affordable Next Generation Energy Storage Systems," seek to develop transformational electrochemical energy storage technologies that will accelerate the widespread adoption of electric vehicles by dramatically improving their driving range, cost, and safety. RANGE focuses on four specific areas; 1) Aqueous batteries constructed using water to improve safety and reduce costs. 2) Non-aqueous batteries that incorporate inherent protection mechanisms that ensure no harm to vehicle occupants in the event of a collision or fire. 3) Solid-state batteries that use no liquids or pastes in their construction. 4) Multifunctional batteries that contribute to both vehicle structure and energy storage functions. I have to say when you look at all the programs that the colleges and auto companies are involved in here, I expect us to see great things over the next 5 years in EV auto's.

Interesting, the Mirage reminds me of cheap entry little run about for your highschool or college kid. The Outlander PHEV seems to have some cool tech, but the front nose yells Lexus Predator Knock off. Neither one inspires me to want to own them.

New York Auto Show: 2017 Kia Cadenza: Comments
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Reader Reviews
WOW, The back end just yells Buick, Front end is so generic and bland it reminds me of Infiniti blandness. BLAH is the word of how this auto makes me feel. Interior comes across busy and cheap nothing luxury about it and the same with the engine bay. Infact looking at that plastic cover with the GDI it immediately made me think of VW and poor quality. -
Far superior to that ugly ass Prius line. This should do well in the US for Hyundai. Biggest gain and will be a great marketing piece is the 20 min to 80% charged on a DC charger. I hope Chevy states how fast for the much larger battery pack on the BOLT. After all a DC levl 3 charger can quickly fill up that battery pack.

Strickingly Interesting. Interior leaves much open to debate. Hmmmmmmm
