  1. Is that not what the Kids are for? I don't have those, can't train my dogs to do it. What about the spouse / partner then!

  3. I would agree as most were people who would not get in out of the cold or did stupid things, a few were sadly due to accidents. All in All I agree it was Darwinism at work thinning out the weaker ones.
  4. Awesome video, amazing the ribbed box'd frame around the wheels. It is an intersting way of building and exciting. I feel for OCNBLU as repair on these auto's will be a nightmare I think. Wonder if that egg crate brace member can be replaced. I under stand the need for crumple zones, but WOW talk about the repair work on the car.
  5. Would it fit a 6'6" tall guy at 300lbs? Probably not. I have heard from my sons best friend that he was disappointed in the latest round of Subaru's. He is married now with a wife and their first son and he traded in his 6 year old Subaru, I think it was an STI, but his newest car while his wife is happy with the Subaru, he feels it does not have the soul of the older models.
  6. Ram Cummins gets it's ass handed to it by a 4x4 Diesel Land Rover in a game of Tug O War! Guess it is true what they say about experiance in driving and in using your 4x4 in proper gear.
  7. I require mine to be a Sea Salt CASHEW Caramel Turtle!
  8. See, I knew you cared, but then we all have a price for what is of value to us Mr. Blu!!
  9. For $65k, you could get a well equipped new Tahoe LTZ...seems like a better solution. True, but then it is still just a Tahoe compared to my Suburban and the price has gone down while the miles on the battery pack went up. 400 Mile Solution Installation cost approximately $20,000.00 Part Cost approximately $15,219.00 400 mile battery pack $20,576.00 Total Cost $55.795.00 I just can't see putting that much money in a 22 yr old SUV...a new one would be much nicer... Reasons to use a very Clean like New 22 year old suburban and convert to Electric. 1) No GPS in auto or other means for the GOV to track me. 2) Cheap to insure 3) Auto is rust free, paint job near perfect still and I can customize it to meet my needs. Also no auto payment. 4) If I do the conversion myself, I save the $20K installation cost. Might be a good project to do with my son. 5) Those of us who grew up in the 70's remember all the cool custom hot rods and conversions done on vans, stations wagons and Suburbans. The pride of having a custom ride that no one else has. So if I do the conversion myself, then I am down to $35K Plus random other costs for customization that I do. Much cheaper than a new auto. I will say my wife also like you does say lets just buy the newest version and enjoy all the new tech and features in a new one. Yet I will say that while I like a new auto, the new SUV's do not have all the space inside like the old ones. Things to think about, yes it would take a bit of time to do it, versus buying new. Have to think on this long and hard.

  11. I call BS on this. Marketing has retold stories multiple different ways. So you change the power train for the 3 series and then redo ALL the 3 series at the same time to connect the numbers with the engines. I personally think both BMW and MB needs to do this as their numbering system is a mess now. I'm saying that is the mentality of BMW, not that it's the truth or what I think. Got it, I am amazed by how companies seem to think once something is set, they cannot change. This is a perfect example of needing to change now.
  12. So the original solution on my suburban would have been this: 200 Mile Solution Installation cost approximately $20,000.00 Part Cost approximately $15,219.00 200 mile battery pack $28,032.00 Total Cost $63,032.00 With the new battery pack, I go from 200 to 400 miles and drop the price so it becomes this: 400 Mile Solution Installation cost approximately $20,000.00 Part Cost approximately $15,219.00 400 mile battery pack $20,576.00 Total Cost $55.795.00 Reduction in cost of $7237.00
  13. Pulling the trigger on this is the big question. Maintenance is very minimal on electric auto's. Since I built up my suburban, 1994, I pulled the 5.3 original engine, bored it out to a 402, 505 HP, 551 lbs of torque and bi-fuel so petrol and CNG. Filling up at home at 86 cents per gallon and the occasional tank of premium fuel has been nice, but the wife has gotten to a point where she wants things quieter and I know my exhaust is noisy, but also looking at enjoying technology. So this has brought up the conversion and customize it to be what I want in my auto and as I have already had it since new, continue to drive it or what? Additional info, I have a 425 diff I put on. Total Suspension was changed from the original half tone to the GM 3/4 ton so it is very stiff now. Handling the weight of the batteries is no problem with a battery pack on each side of the drive line between the front and back wheels it should be very balanced. The Dual Warp 9 engine system would be 1000 lbs of Torque and almost 500HP with a 10,000rpm connected to my 4 spd transmission. So then invest and go electrical, I could put in a 220V charger or the 3 phase 440 V charger at the house for quick charges. Washington state is a paltry 7 cents per kilowatt so I would be looking at about 40-50 dollars a month to drive the suburban aprox 1200 miles a month versus $1020 in CNG or $3600 in premium fuel as the current engine requires.

  15. Those that think the days of companies settling out to make a fast buck on fraud is over. I hope GM holds to weeding out these idiots. This is not to say that some of the victims of the ignition issue are not valid and deserve fair compensation.
  16. I agree, I am looking at where I want to take my custom Suburban and am seriously considering changing it from the Bi-Fuel Petrol / CNG to Pure EV. I would have the room for 3 large battery packs under the body 1 on each side of the drive line between the front and rear tires and the third battery pack where the gas tank is currently. I figure this would give me about 1200 mile range, which means my road trips from Seattle to LA to visit relatives could be done on a single charge. Course the 8K savings on the current battery pack is pretty cool too. I just hope that by the time I decide what to do for my next project that the price drops even more.
  17. Why do they need something special for EV cars/CUVs? Why not just continue with the CTe# or CT#e ? That is the whole point of posting this, what do people think Cadillac should do when it comes to pure electric auto's?
  18. Since October, the battery industry is changing at a pace unseen by other technologies. In October, this was the best battery pack I could get: 200 mile battery pack 48 - 400Ah LiFePo4 Lithium Prismatic cells with bus bars, bolts and washers will cost $28,032.00 Now less than 3 months later I can get the following: 400 mile battery pack 48V, 800Ah LiFePo4 package for $20,576.00 Pretty amazing, the range is an estimate on using a Warp 9 electric motor.
  19. I have seen now that you can buy all the way up to 72V, 800Ah battery packs. I see the future being very strong with EV auto's. Cleaner, more reliable and less maintenance than traditional auto's.
  20. So my Take on this is as follows: VW, O-Sh$t, we just screwed our selves royally, what can we do to make people forget about this and minimize our massive billion dollar losses as we clean up this mess. EV Auto's now that there is dense Lio battery packs that can do a decent range. Personally, I think this is the right move for Audio. Shelve the TT crap, delay the Q4 and get this out. If they truly deliver 370 miles on a charge, then we will see people convert over and this would be the tipping point where auto companies realize that they can build a variety of EV auto's and dump petrol. We are in interesting times that will change the way we see and move about.
  21. So I wonder what Cadillac will call their EV line when they launch it? Should they have their own designation like what BMW did or more like MB where they just take existing models and have an EV version? Should it be a sub category all on it's own under existing categories? Cars are - CT CUVs are - XT Escalade is Escalade EV cars are - ? EV CUVs are - ?
  22. With more auto companies calling for a global emissions standard, I would expect diesel in Europe to follow the US as well as in China. I think Hybrid / EVs are going to by 2020 be replacing many auto's including diesel.
  23. I agree, I think he was just blowing smoke for now and expect the twin turbo V8 to be near 600HP when it comes out, no less than 550HP.
  24. Wow, interesting review, Love the quality of the hood, Everything I am seeing is truly quality built. Love the demo of the 4WS. Very cool to see them putting this on Cadillac where it belongs. The auto if freak-in beautiful and I truly say this competes with the 5 series and E Class.
