Porsche News: Porsche Debuts A New Twin-Turbo V8 Engine
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Volkswagen
WOW, I am actually just amazed at how UNDERWHELMING these TTV8 engines are in HP and Torque. GM does this with natural V8's so what is so hard about others doing it also. You have the added weight of the turbo system, probably the stupid overhead cam crap and GM has forever been showing you can already do this with a proper Pushrod setup. FAILED! that is what this is. Bloated under performing V8 engine with excessive weight and complexity. -
Would You Rather a '59/'60 Vette or a 2008 M-B SL 550.

Simple Choice, Corvette, The MB is not even in competition. -

Sales: Sales Figure Ticker: April 2016
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in 2016 Sales Archive
Doubt it was profitable or ever will be. They stole billions from the american name plates and 60 cares cannot turn a profit on the 4 billion they spent so far on the over rated garbage.- 4 replies

^^^ What you say is so true, why do I drive all full size SUV's? Because no cars are comfy for tall big guys like me and the include Cadillac CTS. Problem with CTS is that once I get it so I can drive the car comfy on a road trip or around town, no one can sit behind me. No room. So escalade wins out. Build true full size sedans and you can see the cars start selling but also fix the biggest problem with all size cars, interior back room especially when you have us 6'6" tall 280lb guys up front. I also believe all sales are down as Tesla 3 and BOLT are making people rethink the type of auto they have for driving and what they want for the future. Plus sales were so strong last year and no sustainable, so sales have to drop. This will affect especially MB and BMW where build everything at every level in every little nich is also not sustainable. Soon Cadillac will be better than MB or BMW when sales continue to drop off and they have to look at what models to kill off to stop the bleeding.

I originally hated the Terrain but now I own one and come to love it. While I know it is the same thing as the Nox it just does not have that feminine look. Hey I don't highlight my hair and I still got a pair, what can I say? I have always preferred the GMC styling even if it was just the grills. It always appeared less cluttered and more refined. Though the new Chevy truck nose is damn good looking in mono chrome. LOL, I know you still have a Pair. But I have to disagree with you on the chevy truck, I still think the full size GMC is way better looking. I totally agree on the fem look of the Chevy CUV product line. Looks are subjective and you have yours and I have mine. My point is the GMC was a slam dunk before now I would at least have to think about it. Even my GMC buddies have said the same thing. Two of them have bought GMC full sized trucks in the last 2 years and both said they may have gone over to Chevy if they had this model out. As for the fem look 50% of buyers today are women so it makes sense. But with that said women like trucks too. That is why my wife wanted the Terrain. She grew up driving her dads truck often. I love it when she wants to opt for the largest wheel packages too as she said they look better. This takes the pressure off of me when I want that option. LOL! We got the 19" on the Terrain because that is what she wanted and and it is was I was going to push for if she had not wanted them. Powerful engines are also something we are both in agreement with. She has never turned down a V6 option or Supercharged option. If there was a V8 she would want it too. Now keep in mind she is not into cars like I am but we have the same wants when we buy. She also hates minivans and can shoot a gun with a high degree of accuracy. I was lucky to find her. That Rocks hyper I too have a wife like that so very lucky to have found her.

I like a truck look, but then I am Blah on the Chevy Version and love the GMC current look. Wonder if these engines will be part of the new GM Powertrain lineup?

Jerk move or not, this will sell, but honestly does nothing for me. Plus Sergio is already raping FCA and overpaid to boot. So I hope this fails. The board needs to eject that man.- 3 replies
